I spent just one night at this hotel. The room was spacious, comfortable and quiet. The staff at registration were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean but looked a little worn on the edges: A little grout mold in the shower, some rippled carpeting that needed re-stretching, and the like. I have stayed at several other Embassy Suites hotels and this one is much like the others: An atrium, a good free breakfast, and the front/back suite layout. I would and probably will stay at this location again!

Managers cocktail hour was really 2 hours and great! We really just used this as a base for visiting our daughter at college. Her 21st birthday. We enjoyed the cocktail hour and the free breakfast. We walked to all the bars she wanted to go to. Could have easily walked to the Iowa Cubs game as well. We will be using this hotel for future visits.

Our stay at the DesMoines Embassy Suites was great! We traveled there for a wedding and our room was ready early and we were thrilled. The breakfast was great and there was room for the whole family to get together and visit. I would gladly go back!!

Hotel was nice but charging for wifi is ridiculous considering the money being charged for room. Staff was very friendly.

The Embassy Suites on Des Moines met our needs for our trip. Most rooms we stay in have two queen beds, this room had two doubles. The rooms were a bit outdated, but the free breakfast in the morning made up for the outdated rooms. Paying for parking was also something we were not prepared for and seemed a bit pricey for Des Moines.

Room was good, food too was good andnice pool. Crowed kids smoking in stairwell, slow elevators or not working at all. Crowded, messy, wet, smoky, elevators were not working, stairs were a mess, teenagers everywhere, bad weekend.

Reserved Room with two double beds and received a king bed. My friends who checked early were asked what kind of beds they wanted. Asked manager to call and received no word.

The Embassy Suites Des Moines- on the river had a managers reception. During this time there was a gathering for all hotel guests. Free beverages were available for all registered guests. My wife and I had an opportunity to meet the other hotel guests. The hotel location was close to our destinations.

The separate bedroom, kitchenette. Bathroom. In general, it was very good. The bathroom needed up-dated (there was no exhaust fan in it). We had to wait a long time for our food in the restaurant.

Rooms have seen better days, but at least they're pretty clean. Food is awful and service is lacking. Could be a good deal for families on a budget in need of larger rooms, but won't ever be my first choice.

Location & the breakfast. Parking cost ridiculous for location. If you a business traveler it would be an ok choice. Spacious, stuffy and the appropriate amenities. However as a weekend get-a-way for a couple it was over-priced (for Des Moines, IA), nickel and dime (parking) and not what I'd choose to stay next time.

Bartender and morning chef were very nice. Maintenance engineer went above/beyond the call helping jump-start my car. Unfortunately the rate was high (State Fair was in town, based on today?s rate: about 20/day impact). Parking: 6/day outside, 12/day for indoor valet (I paid 4/day earlier in week for hotel garage parking in Omaha and walked everywhere). Internet access in room is 10 at day and it?s still wired! I stayed in 3 other hotels this trip, ALL had FREE Internet access (2 wireless) and the room rate at all 3 was at least 60 a night less than here.

Convenient to downtown and area we needed to be close to. Older hotel with no recent remodeling, old bathrooms, small tub, room smelled terribly of smoke (we are allergic).

No internet service was told to call internet provider and they stated were some rooms that did not work, they called front desk to see if I could change rooms (booked.) told me to go to lobby to get internet.I can't always drag all my paperwork to the front lobby to do my work. Also many hotels with cheaper rates provide free internet service you charge 9.95 Also could not get a corporate rate because they wanted to make a killing on a Soccer Event.

The cocktail hour, breakfast buffet, indoor pool and workout room were all very nice. We enjoyed our stay at Embassy Suites. The lines for the cocktail hour and breakfast buffet are manageable if you hit them early. The kids enjoyed the pool area and I enjoyed the workout room.

Attractive, accommodating. Liked the suite. The hide-a-bed was not very comfortable so we put mattress on floor. Accommodating to travelers and looked after our needs. Attractive space. Comfortable.

The atmosphere was great. The employees weren't the nicest. Overall, we loved the hotel. Very much a hotel for a family.

It was only two blocks from our event at the Civic Center. The room was more spacious than a regular hotel room. That gave my 1 yr old lots of room to play. This feature alone was worth the money. The breakfast was great, a little bit of what everyone wanted. We will stay here again on our next visit.

We loved the hotel! The managers' cocktails lasted 2 hours. Free drinks which is great! Shuttle to concert @ wells Fargo was excellent. Hotel water bottles in fridge should be free, not $4.00! We will definitely stay in this hotel again! We used the fitness room; the free buffet style breakfast was great after a long night at a concert. The free drinks from 5:30-7:30 were just what we needed after spending a chunk on the room and the free shuttle to and from concert were awesome!
