I needed accommodations for 60 days. After checking in I was told I would have to move out after 15 days because of a soccer league tournament. When I tried to re-book, they raised the rates and would not accept the standard government rate. So I had to find another hotel that accepts the gov rate. I am very disappointed with the sales staff at Embassy Suites. I discourage govenment employees from staying there.

My husband & I had recommended this hotel all over (US & Caribbean). Now we are embarrassed totally. Employees no longer happy, extra's like for birthdays, anniversaries, etc is now gone. The managers reception is the best part if you are looking for a drink but snacks have truly dropped in quality. Pop corn was the best-that is sad. Hope you aren't a coffee person- ECK. Please beware of the breakfast bar. Yep, fresh omlets, eggs, etc - not sure how your colon will take them. Sausage no taste - Bacon, we won't go that low. Plan on paying for your internet in your room - or go public in the lobby instead the comfort of your expensive room which has a nice bed & accessories - don't expect a lot anymore. Go to a local business & use their free internet and enjoy your environment. This used to be for the past 3 years as our get away-well. . . as they say, all things change. Maybe it is like presidental campaigns- Change. If this is the case, God help us. Fortunately, there are other cities and hotels. We preferred the Embassey Suites to the Hamption, but for the price/quality some of the others. We used to promote Embassy Suites Charleston highly. We didn't mind paying that amount for the room but not even the tv channels are worth it anymore. The Rothbergers

The hotel itself is beautiful. The "Manager's Reception" was on the skimpy side, but I've seen worse. My main problem was what seemed to be a lack of staff. No discernable concierge, although there was a desk clerk who seemed to be clerk, concierge, bellhop, and doorman all at once. The other clerks seemed to be a tad on the 'easy-going' side. Drink service was slow unless you were inside the restaurant eating - don't bother sitting at the tables outside. But, the room was soothing, the bed heavenly, and the internet connection strong. I'd definitely stay there again - perhaps some of the staff was simply having an off day. Plus, when I put a runner in my last pair of pantyhose, it really helped that the hotel is literally next door to the mall!

We had a bad first impression when checking in and asking for a luggage rack to carry all of our bags and baby supplies. They just told us they didn't have one. They didn't offer to help: just stared at me. Thus, I had to make multiple trips to the car and back to get our stuff. In addition, they charged us twice for parking. Also, after walking around our room with no shoes, our feet were blackish-gray in color. In all, way over priced for an average hotel with terrible service.

I love everything about this hotel! It is by far the best hotel in Charleston. The Embassy is extremely kid friendly and fun. My children enjoyed the hotel more than mall or other attractions. The breakfast is amazing and the staff are friendly and fun. This hotel is for young and old and has alot to offer. You won't want to leave.

went to hotel for family reunion. my 2 children with me ages 1 and 7. my sister requested to be near one another. i also asked about a crib for my daughter specifying a real crib not a pack and play. i was told it would be a real crib. once we arrived we checked in , our rooms were not even on the same floor. my carper in my room was wet from a leak.( iwas given towels to cover it.) the crib was a pack and play. finally they produced the real crib after icomplained. my sisters room smelled like smoke although it was a non smoking floor. could not find parking in the parking lot (paying * a day) parked elsewhere. security and maintenance were the only people that tried to help. requested a blanket for the baby. was told would be put on a list. we asked security if that meant would we get the blanket later or just wait and see. the gentleman said that was unacceptable and he proceeded to get us a blanket. from the beginning this was a disaster of a trip. this hotel has the potential to be an excellant hotel...first class...but the staff completely ruined the visit with this hotel. i will not return to this hotel.

The made to order breakfast was excellent. A charge for wireless internet, or had to go to lobby and use their computer for free internet. I was somewhat disappointed in the hotel. For a 3 star, our room was not as clean as expected, and the second day, they did not bring wash cloths with the towels. The lady who checked us in did not explain the parking situation, which was a garage that you had to walk down the street to park in, and there was a charge.

While we were waiting to check in the computer system went down. It was 11:30 PM and we just wanted to get to bed. It took 45 minutes to get a room. The next morning we found the breakfast to be below par for an Embassy Suites - cold and not very good.

The rooms are spacious, nice and clean. There were young adults partying in the hallways until very late.
