The Embassy Inn is currently a thirty eight room bed and breakfast hotel. The Inn originated in 1910 as an eight unit apartment house. In 1919 it was further renovated into a thirty room tourist hotel. The current owners re-opened the inn in 1987 as a thirty eight room hotel. The Embassy Inn's moldings, mosaic entrance tiles, and marble stairway are original and its furnishings are simple and comfortable reproduction antiques.Start each morning with an expanded continental breakfast to get you going for the day's activities. The neighborhood includes the Dupont Circle and Adams Morgan areas with many diverse restaurants and shops to explore. We got to the hotel we booked, and we were sent to a different one, no restaurant or food service at 8pm.

Location. No elevator, no parking, steps to lobby, no bellman. Front desk staffer was lovely but she was the only person on staff at 7pm. No parking except three blocks away in a public lot that was underground but didn't open till 7am, no where to park in which to unload your car, lots of steps to the entrance and no elevator and many steps to second floor room. In am, I couldn't find any staff for check out.

Nice location in a nice area. Close, Convient and lots close by. I was on the 5th floor, with no elevator, no A/C and broken tile, desk and closet. This hotel needs a lot of work. At $232/night is was a shame I did not have trip protector.

Needed a room in Washington, DC and booked at the last minute. The Hotel is not fancy but comfortable with breakfast included. I was pleased with the combination of price and location - very reasonable for a last minute booking for DC. For a single "low maintenance" traveler who is not spending a great deal of time in the room, it was fine. Reception desk was friendly and suggested a great neighborhood Italian restaurant.

Rooms are tiny...but they are comfortable enough. I did like that the sink was outside the small bathroom, providng more room for brushing teeth, shaving, etc. Hotel needs a spruce up and it's old, but acceptable. Walking distance to Dupont Circle nice.

The room was well maintained but very small. there arent really any amenities but for the price it's a safe and clean alternative and very well located, a short walk to dupont circle and 17th street restaurants and bars.

The Embassy locates close to Dupont circle, so it is very convenient. The breakfast was pretty good. There was internet service in the room, which is very nice.

the room was very small and some of the furniture was in poor condition However the staff are friendly, knowledgeable about the area the included breakfast is served in a small but nicely appointed library.

The Embassy Inn, while very conveniently located, was not particularly comfortable. It felt very dingy and hadn't been modernized since Reagan was in office. It also didn't feel all that safe; the doors were flimsy and had only one very simple lock. But for a one night stay, and not having to spend any time except to sleep at the hotel, it was fine.
