Ideal stay for a family ( but no pool). Beds comfortable, kitchen fully stocked with all dishes etc. There was lots of room for our children to Play without getting in each others way. It was very clean. Location is easy access to and from the 417. Close to major attractions. Restaurants close by, parking can be slim...

Perfect location and great price!

Check-in was a breeze. Room was surprisingly large and clean. Internet was adequate. My biggest complaint is that I had to pay for parking.

Lots of space, full-kitchen, relatively inexpensive, family-friendly. Furnishings are circa 1974 but clean nonetheless. Not the most modern hotel but the 920 ft. 2 room is super-convenient for those travelingwith small kids with a full-size, fully-equipped kitchen, separate bedroom, two TV, two washrooms, 2 sofa beds and tons of space to run around.

A couple of caveats to the would be traveler. Parking is very limited, ask in advance if they have spaces available, and reserve one if possible, (this will cost extra). There is under ground parking, (not easy to get in, or out of, so if you have a larger vehicle, you may want to pass on that), and about a dozen outside parking spaces, (in a fenced area, with security cameras). I had a lot of problems with internet access, very weak signals, (this would fluctuate over time), and frequent disconnects. Ask for a room near one of their wireless routers. Other than that...I enjoyed this hotel. Coffee shop, and lounge in the building, centrally located, and even though the route to/from the hotel, (from hwy 417), may look intimidating, it's really not. The highway was just minutes from the hotel. My room was large, clean, and comfortable. The staff was friendly, and professional. I would, (and probably will), stay here again.

Compared to many hotels in this price range, Embassy Suites rooms are very spacious. The living area in particular afforded lots of room. Also compared to other properties, cost of wireless internet and parking was quite resonable. The hotel is located within a block of the Rideau Canal on one side and Elgin Street on the other, with its great selection of dining and entertainment options. A short 10 min. walk gets you to Rideau Centre shopping and the Byward Market.

Great hotel for the price. Location was perfect - right downtown. The room was nice and large, the staff were friendly, but the bed and pillow were not particularly comfortable. The heater/AC is centrally controlled so that's kind of annoying. For downtown, 10$ per night parking is great. Overall great value.

The room was very large and clean. There is nothing that I disliked. It is located on quite street. It is very clean, has large kitchenette and friendly and helpful staff.

The hotel falsely lists free high speed internet under amenities where in reality there is a charge for both, either in room access and lobby access.

While this is an older hotel, it offers good, large, well appointed rooms, with reasonable kitchenette amenities. My stay was for two weeks, and in that time the only concern I had was the unpredictability of hot water in the morning. While there was always hot water at the beginning of a shower, depending on the time, the hot water could fade to cool. All that said, given the price, good value for money.

Excellent location right downtown. Close to a wide range of restaurants, shopping and entertainment. Hotel is a bit 'outdated' and slightly rundown but not to the point that I was unsatisfied. Staff was friendly and helpful overall - they even gave me an upgraded room upon check-in. Room was comfortable and clean, and very spacious with a full kitchen. A great setup to stay for an extended period of time. I was disappointed that the computer in the business center was broken, but they do offer free internet if you bring your laptop.

When booking in this hotel with your family, be aware of the following points:1. There is no swimming pool (you can get the same room in a hotel in two minutes walking distance of this hotel with swimming pool with the same rate).2. Dinning room is closed in weekends and holidays.3. There is no free internet in the lobby (my first experience of this kind in Canada and outside Canada, either in hotels cheaper than this).4. There is not enough parking spots for all guests, so most probably you will end up to park in a pay parking lot close to hotel or at the park-o-meters (I think they assign hotel parking spots to gusts who are staying a week or more with them). 5. Be prepared to deal with rude receptionists (every time you talk to them or ask for something they will treat you like they are saying ?this is our hotel and conditions, you can?t get a better one with this rate, if you can, go ahead?.)6. The rooms are excellent.7. Location is excellent because of proximity to all attraction points.

Nice place, large rooms. Bar and restaurant closed for holidays was a disappointment but nice places within walking distance.

The Emabassy Suite is extremely good value for money in that it offers full suites for the price of a mid-level hotel in a reasonable location. It gave me the chance to bring the family along on a business trip and everyone had a good time.

Our suite was roomy and well furnished. Walking distance to lots of restaurants.Off-site (across the st.) pay parking. Most Embassy affiliates serve a great continental breakfast with the price of your room...disappointing that this hotel did not.

The Embassy Suites in Ottowa proved a suprisingly satisfying blind choice from afar. It proved easily reachable from the interstate highway(we were driving)and to the things my daughter, her husband, and I were interested in. Pariament Hill and the festivities along the Ottowa River were within reasonable walking distance, any number of affordable and interesting restaurants and pubs were located within 3 to 5 blocks (Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Lebanese, Indian, Cajun, Italian, etc.), and the street life was colorful and diverting. The rooms were quite comfortable with refrigerator, coffeemaker, and microwave so it was possible to pick up food from nearby delis and dine in quite satisfactorily; the bachelor suite was large enough to be comfortable for a childless couple, and the other suite would comfortably accomodate parents and at least two children. The first night there was a disconcerting humming, but when the unseasonably hot weather broke the next day the hum also disappeared (I infer it was overloaded air-conditioning).

Embassy location is terrific - walking distance to most tourist sites. Hotel polices very amenable - they will get groceries, allow kids and pets, provide parking. Exceptional front desk and room cleaning. A well run and comfortable hotel. Would stay there anytime.

This is a neat hotel in downtown Ottawa, close to everything. I had a good experience. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful and the rooms were great and it was cheaper than other hotels in the area. One thing I would like to point out is that the parking is not free and that you have to pay per day. However, there is almost no free parking in downtown Ottawa. I highly recommend it.

Embassy Suites has an amazing location, right off the Rideau Canal and some 10 minutes away (on foot) from the Parliament and 15 minutes from the Byward Market. We stayed in a bachelor suite. The room was rather big, the kitchen was fully equipped and we had a walk-in closet. The hotel was also quiet and very clean. Would definitely stay there again.
