We came here for three days in an impromptu midweek getaway. The Olympic-sized indoor heated pool, sauna and jacuzzi were sparkling clean and enjoyable; we made the most of them. The location on the quiet side of Roanoke Island was outstanding. It had free bikes to use on the island's seven miles of bike paths, and was close to the Lost Colony National Park and a short drive to the Outer Banks. With the money we saved we could eat out at Owens' and 1587, two *very* nice local restaurants for dinner, a definite splurge. We didn't ask for any room service and had no unusual requests, and the hotel experience was exactly what we wanted. We'd stay here again!

Halls, elevator and rooms were dirty and in need of heavy duty cleaning; wrappers and food were behind bedside table, sheets were thread -bare and did not look clean due to worn, wrinkled appearance; - when discussing where we stayed, local shop owner said ""Does that place still smell?"" - While that says it all, the SAD answer is ""Yes, it still smells and more...."" We felt totally ripped off for paying a rate of *.00, but we learned our lesson and hope the owners apply the money to cleaning, painting and repairing.

Musty rooms along with faded pillowcases on the bed suggest that this Motel is long overdue for a makeover.

Old hotel with an old smell, Room had plaster peeling off the wall, and roaches. The stay was way overpriced. Pick any other place to stay.

The place looks nice with the pools and the way the hotel is set-up. But, the rooms are over-priced. They do have coffee makers, microwaves, little fridge, ect. But, the rooms smell old, the beds are hard as rocks, the carpet needs replacement, the bed sheets are old, ect. The hotel overall isn't bad. It's just that for almost 100. a night, it should be a lot nicer.
