The El Rey Inn is situated near the famed Santa Fe Downtown Plaza. The hotel grounds are a National Wildlife Foundation backyard habitat. This is one of the more unique Santa Fe hotels, offering extensive grounds and acres of gardens. The El Rey Inn is located only a short drive from the Santa Fe Airport. The airport and other attractions can be easily reached using the Santa Fe public bus lines or by taking one of the local taxis or rental cars.

All of the guestrooms at the El Rey Inn offer hand painted murals and motifs. Each of the 86 rooms also includes a kitchenette, a fireplace, and a private bathroom. Most rooms offer patios and all include wireless Internet access, telephones, and televisions.
