quijote inn is nice, but not "too nice". on-site restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. food and meal prices are ok. their beach has several shade palapas with lounge chairs. beach is ok but wife and i preferred the beach couple blocks north of motel. pool and pool area was cleaned and swept daily. our room was a studio w/ two double beds. "kitchen portion" had a fridge, microwave, sink, dishes, forks, knives, coffee pot. staff was friendly and helpful. room cleanliness good, maid service good. there is a good supply of pool towels at the office, towels are clean but a little tattered. at present, there is construction going on for a 3 level parking garage at the street side of the quijote inn. from 7:30 to 5:00, there was constuction noise, but we were out and about most of the day so didn't bother us. we recommend this property as ok place to stay-had good view of pool and ocean.

In the height of the tourist season, they were doing major construction! The Jacuzzi was closed and that was the main reason we selected it.The beds are slabs of concrete with a thin mattress on top - like sleeping on the floor! The only good thing was the Junior Suite has a fold-out bed and I was able to almost sleep on it.The parking lot was filled with construction material and they wanted us to park acrss the street until we told them we would park in their lot or find another hotel. We ate only one meal in their restaurant 0 they did not have decaffinated coffee and went somewhere to buy a jar of the stuff for instant. We ate Marlin that was NOT markline and was not fresh! It was poorly prepared and my wifehad stomach cramps the entire night.I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE!!!!!!!

The staff are so friendly, hate to say we would not stay here again. On the positive side, there are NO timeshare peddlars, it is very secure and safe feel, small and homey, and all staff, from front desk to restaurant are pleasant. Many who speak no or little English, although great for practicing Spanish! The small restaurant has fabulous food -eat a meal here even if staying elsewhere! Do not be put off by the RV park next door - quiet, unobtrusive, and looked secure. Beds wonderful,(very firm), pillows terrible. Rooms spacious. Downsides - yes, the pool is too cold, hardly anyone in it ever, even on a sunny day. It has no heater at all - on the hottest days, it is just ok, but so many other hotels nearby have wonderfully heated pools and still retain that intimate, smaller hotel feel (like Inn at Mazatlan). The promised jacuzzi does not exist, due to new construction going on. We are not pool type people, usually out and about for the day, and yet it was sorely missed. Hotel front desk not really geared up to help folks with making day-trip plans, etc. - we found our own way about town on that, which was fine, but would not stay here if you don't enjoy being left to your own devices, esp if you also don't speak Spanish. Lobby internet is slow, but working most days, with a nominal one-time fee of @ 5 for use during your stay. Location is fine, although slightly sandier beach and more people action about a 1/4 mile south, closer to El Cid (which is a tourist zoo).

Very satisfied with the room, staff and location, right on the beach in the hotel zone. The studio room had a nice balcony and kitchen, complete with eating utensils, dishes, coffee maker, pots and pans, blender, juicer etc., and internet terminals in the lobby.

El Quijote proved to be a letdown. The elevator broke down, we had to rent the iron and there was no ironing board. The curtains were see-through and our room was on a busy hall. The entry doorway had see-through, though somewhat smoked plastic panels. Paper thin walls, the phone didn't work and so on......
