Excellent facilities, green space, water recycling. Charge for parking. Fantastic hotel the best motel room I have ever stayed in. Highly recommend it.

This place was such a wonderful suprise. We arived on Christmas day and stayed for two nights. You will not be dissapointed in this hotel/spa. Although the spa services were pricey, which we didn't indulge in because of that. I am excited to stay here again in the future. What great facilities. Stay al El Monte Sagrado....you will love it.

Beautiful grounds and facilities. Great location within walking distance of the Plaza, many restaurants, shops and gallaries. We stayed in the Taos Mountain suites and they were very spacious, comfortable and well appointed. Everyone we encountered on the staff was very friendly. The indoor pool is small, but very nice. Even though the pool was small, it was never crowded. The spa is quite nice. The fitness facilitie is also rather small. It has nice equipment and even though it only has two treadmill and two ellipiticals, I never had to wait to use one. We had a wonderful, relaxing stay and would return without a doubt. I have already recommended the El Monte to several friends.

Just looking for a hotel within walking distance (0.25 miles) of the town center. More expensive than I usually opt for, but what a wonderful reward. The room had beautiful artwork, expensive southwestern furnishings, a huge bathtub. The grounds contained water features, pools, gardens, statues. The restaurant was awesome, eating savory cuisine among large overgrown plants. Just stayed a day on our way to Denver, but what a relaxing venue.

I regularly stay in hotels, at least 3 nights a month but usually many more and I am very picky and discriminating, El Monte Sagrado is the most perfect stay I have ever had anywhere. This place pays attention to the details. It is immaculent and sophisticated. However, when the weather became too bad for the team bus to make the 11/2 hour drive home through the mountains they also went above and beyond to accomidate the additional three 14 year old boys, besides my own son, from the basketball team. They were all brought plush robes to them over at the pool along with a tray of warm homemade buttermilk churros, fresh fruit and indivual creme brulles and beverages. Toothbrushes and toothpaste along with other necessary but fine spa quality toiletries were brought up to the room since the overnight trip, for them, was unplanned. Luxurious, fully made beds were brought up by 3 house keeping staff and were completely and quickly set up and arranged in our huge comfortable room were a fire was already burning in the fire place. The decore is spectacular as are the bedding and linens. But the service is more then that, I left my cell phone at a local restarant and before I could leave to retreive it, the valet was knocking on my door with my phone in hand. At 2 a.m. one of the boys got sick and I got up in the middle of the night to go to find an open store for over the counter remedies... they offered to go for me! Along with what I asked for they also brought back ice and a pitcher of ginger ale. I've stayed at many fine resorts, a suite in the new tower at Caeser's recently. The Monte FABLOUS...

Very luxurious. The breakfast staff was unattentive. Very exclusive and luxurious experience. The rooms were spacious and beautiful.

The El Monte Sagrado recently doubled the number of available rooms from 40 to 80+ rooms. We were lucky enough to stay in one of the brand new rooms and we and really enjoyed spending time in our room. Uniquely designed with local artists art work throughout, an open floor plan, full tub and separate shower, fireplace and private balcony. The El Monte houses the best entertainment (Anaconda Bar), the best spa, and the best restaurant (De La Terra) are located right in the El Monte Sagrado. We ate at both Joseph's Table and De La Terra and the De La Terra was hands down the best of the best in Taos. We came to the El Monte to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary and partaked in the tradition of eating our wedding cake that we had kept frozen for the past year. We brought the cake with us to the De La Terra and asked if they would cut and serve and the chef went above and beyond and added fruit and syrups to make one of the most beautiful displays of our one year old cake. Everyone in the El Monte is friendly, accomadating and we often felt like we were the only guests in the whole building even though the resort was fully booked. A must stay! A+++

Architectural & decorator's delight. Well-maintained. Intentionally short-staffed which may explain, apparent low occupancy. Outstanding appearance throughout: Fine maintenance: Staff friendly but sparse: Too few guests made it creepily quiet: Didn't dine-in but never saw more than 1 table occupied in the restaurant. Friendly bartenders who probably appreciated our company: Hotel's important feature is its spa but we didn't use it. Parking is in an open lot and the charge is $12 daily which is excessive, considering valet delays because they also had other, inside duties.

The hotel is being expanded so the place was a little noisy during the day ( expansion work will be completed by the end of September 2007). The check in and out experiences were excellent. The rooms are all suites and are modern and clean. The food in the restaurants was very good and the service excellent. The Spa, according to my wife, is the best she has seen. It is a little small but the staff is professional and the number of options is endless. The Plaza is 1/2 mile away. We would definitely go back to this hotel.

What a remote Place ! Stayed here for a ""girl's get-away"" Could not have picked a better place for one night of being pampered and relaxed - best massage I ever had ! Extremely peaceful, let your mind go...not a loud or entertaining place though - great to explore the beautiful gardens of the resort and relax w/ a cup of tea - real stunning rooms (living/bedroom separately) , bath tub might be diff to be accessed for younger or older people . Def not a familiy place though

Very beautiful, clean, and neat hotel. They would not let us check in early, and front desk lady was not very friendly. Very well kept, neat hotel, would stay there again, staff was not as friendly as other 4 star resorts, and not family friendly, as far as activities and things to do, also they had no spa information anywhere.

Environmental wonder plus a luxury hotel! The water is fantastic (no chlorine) in the pool and the rooms. Details are great. Crystals! Good energy! There was a little dirt on the floor outside the elevator. That's all that wasn't perfect! My young daughter and I had an overnight getaway here and couldn't have been happier! The hotel is wonderfully green with the construction, solar heating and own water treatment. It has a healthy and lovely energy. The grounds are gorgeous. It feels very sacred there. The water is fantastic (no chlorine) in the pool and the rooms. The pool was the most amazing indoor hotel pool ever. There are super details - crystals and rock specimens decorating the hotel, the light fixtures are beautiful. Great bathroom/tub. They have humidifiers in the rooms. The library/billiard room and art gallery were lovely.

Very comfortable bed and nice linens. Noise. The first night of our stay there were very few people in the hotel. On the second night many more people arrived. Our room was so loud it kept us up for most of the night. We could hear every word from the people next to us and the people above us were incredibly loud. I would expect a 5 star hotel to have thicker walls, or spread people out a bit better for privacy. The people across the hall had a dog that barked all night long. The shower door was not hinged correctly and made a terrible noise when you opened it. I called twice to have someone come and take a look. On the second time someone came and it was still not fixed when we returned to our room. It was very disappointing.

The room was romantic and beautiful, the business center very accessible. The gym and pool would not nothing to write home about. Top notch hotel. A sophisticated take on Taos, NM.

Beautiful aesthetics, eco friendly, extremely clean and reasonably priced for the level of hotel. Could have been more kid/ family friendly and the pool was very small. El Monte Sagrado living Resort is an oasis in the casual atmosphere of Taos. The rooms were luxurious and clean with attention paid to every detail. The spa-like atmosphere was calming and romantic. The friendly staff accommodated every need. Sumptuous linens and gourmet coffee and tea made the room a heaven! Knowing that the water is recycled added to our feeling of appreciation for the resort in this very dry area of the country. It will be the only place we stay if we return to Taos.
