For tranquility, the El Dorado Royale Spa Resort Cancun is located outside of Cancun in an area called Maroma. This resort was designed with all amenities on site. The location is within driving distance of major attractions, but is really aimed at guests who prefer to remain on site since there are no nearby options for dining, etc.
The El Dorado Royale Spa Resort Cancun is 25 minutes from the Cancun airport.
The El Dorado Royale Spa Resort Cancun has 639 guestrooms including suites and "casitas". Each one has a terrace or balcony, marble flooring, a luxurious bath, minibar stocked with water and beer, flat screen TV, cable, and jetted tubs.
The El Dorado Royale Spa Resort Cancun was originally built in 2000 but some renovations were made in 2004. It is an adults only spa resort secluded on a white sandy stretch of beach, away from it all. There are multiple choices for dining, relaxing, or just sipping a drink. Choose from 11 pools, a Jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, or a pool side massage. The full service spa provides every variety of beauty and relaxation technique from Swedish massage to hot stone therapy.

Everything. We had to leave! In short, this hotel exceeded all expectations. The atmosphere and setting were better than any place we have stayed in the past. The food, drinks and service were outstanding. My wife and I are already planning a return trip for this summer.

Best vacation my wife and I have taken so far. The whole atomosphere of this hotel was excellent to say the least. The only caveats were the expense of traveling to Cancan or other locations via taxi, and some rocky surfaces at the beach. The snorkling excursion at a remote location was fair however around the hotel beach was much better.

We traveled during the "swine flu" drama & the hotel was only 40% occupied Thurs.(when we arrived on 05/28) & 50 % by Fri. the next day. Therefore they were upgrading most people (except people who paid for the most basic rooms- we spoke to a few other couples about this). While we were happy to be upgraded to a casitia, we paid for & wanted a swim-up. After much speaking to "another manager" they agreed. BUT were told it'd be the next morning. Story end- we lost thurs. when we arrived & all of Fri. as we were told to keep calling back before finally moving Fri. evening. That left us with sat. & sun. as our flight left 9am Mon. Which meant leaving the hotel at 5:45 Mon. am.

Clean and comfortable. Constant interruption by employees to convince us to buy excursions. We traveled as a group of six and had problems every night when trying to have dinner at the 3 fine dining restaurants. They would not take reservations and would not accommodate us by moving tables together, so we ended up eating at the same place for nearly every meal. There were a few other small irritating issues, but for the most part the stay was okay. It was notworth the money.

My new husband I poured over reviews for SEVERAL different all-inclusive and ultimately chose The El Dorado Royale, spa resort. Boy did we chose well! We decided to spend the little extra money and take up the travel agency on their offer of a free upgrade, and we stayed in the Casita suites. The rooms are gorgeous! My mouth dropped when were shown to our room. We had aswim up suite and an out door shower. I never took a shower inside the whole week, and I slept on the outside bed 3 nights in a row, my husband loves air conditioning so he slept inside. The beds were comfy and the room was clean every time we came back. If you bring a copy of your new marriage liscense, you get all kinds of free stuff. Free bottle chamage in the room, chocolate covered strawberrys delivered every night, cool little towel figures on your bed every night at turn down. I wish had got a grasp on the free activities that we're offered at the main pool. It took us awhile to figure there was more going on at the main pool, than there was at our quiet pool that we could swim to. With the Casita suite you also get your own canopy bed on the beach and a beach butler, but we only utilized this one day. We did take a tour one day, thru Olympus, they were very professional and organized. We went to Coba, Mayan ruins. We repealed, zip lined, swam in under ground caves, ate with the Mayans, climbed the Ruins and we're drove back in an air conditioned van, and we're back at the resort by 5:30. It was my favorite part, after planning a wedding it was nice for somebody else to take control.

We were there for a wedding, which was lovely. H1N1 had emptied the place pretty severely, so not sure our experience was standard. Beautiful with lots of pools and places to hang out with the other wedding guests. We requested a room change due to musty room smell (it was true of most rooms, but ours more so) and loud air conditioner. We were told it would be quick, but 7 hours later had to cancel the move to get ready for the ceremony. Great food, but very slow service and that's by Mexico vacation standards. Had a lunch take over 2 hours despite being one of just 4 tables! Very friendly staff, surprisingly few spoke fluent English which was frustrating in an emergency.

The separate pool, bar and restaurant dedicated to each cluster of Casitas. The Casita was comfortable and spacious. We enjoyed the food, especially the Italian restaurant and the room service breakfasts. Overall it was a very good experience. The staff was all kind and friendly.

If you are not staying in the Casitas, then I would not recommend this hotel. The food is okay, if you like gourmet food every meal. I lost 10 pounds from the lack of food (which isnt a bad thing.) The pools close at 7 and there is absolutely nothing to do at night at this resort. The resorty and concierge really kiss up to you the first few days, trying to get you to pay an extra 1000 to upgrade or purchase their excursions but once you tell them no, then they dont really care about you. The spa prices are ridiculous. 60 for my wife to get a pedicure. The couples massage that they offer for honeymooners is only offered from 2-2:30 or 3-3:30 so if you plan excursions you are going to miss out and tough luck. We drove to a few other resorts when dropping people off and I saw a lot better looking resorts.

We went during the Swine Flu scare for a wedding with friends, hotel was at 25% occupancy and we basicly had the whole place to ourselves. Food was fantastic. everyone was very nice and polite with a "Hola" from all the staff that passed by you during the day and night. Does not get much better then this. Scott St.Louis, MO

This was our first time at an all-inclusive resort and we were very impressed. We were greeted by friendly staff and cold champagne and after a very fast check in process, we were driven to our suite in a golf cart. The resort grounds are beautiful and well manicured . We took advantage of the free bikes to tour the grounds and later to bar hop! The staff are hard working ,very friendly and lots of fun. There were many activites to chose from or if feeling lazy, beautiful pools and bars to hang out in. Tons of lounge chairs available and nice towels by every pool. The staff was constantly coming around asking for drink orders. The restaurants are beautiful and very good. We didn't make reservations due to the time of year we were there, rainy season. We enjoyed dressing up for dinner. ( check the dress code before packing) The rooms are beautiful, the fridge stayed stocked and everything was very clean. The drinks were plentiful but we all agreed they could of been stronger. Also, it would of been nice if they had snacks available by the pool. I brought a couple of bags of Trail Mix and shared with many. We will go back and would recommend El Dorado.

We went to El Dorado Royale to attend a family wedding. It was amazing. The staff were friendly, the food was great and the grounds were spotless. I have never had such wonderful service. Everyone was nice and I felt they truly cared about our experience at their resort. The daily included activities were fun and the beach was beautiful. My husband and I have been married 12 years and have four children and this was like a second honeymoon! We will definately go back!!

Wonderfully set in between the city of Cancun and Playa Del Carmen, this five star resort offers everything imaginable from fun activities and fabulous and exotic dinners for a romantic honeymoon. Unfortunately for us, the activities were a little hard to plan because of the need for 24 hour reservations for nearly everything that we tried to do as well as not getting direct answers from one particular source. One person told us to go here. That person told us to go there. It was very hard to find a definite answer for anything. The food was exotic to be sure, however, if you are used to a certain type of mexican food, be aware that not all mexican food that you may be used to is the same that comes from this part of the country. You will not find a burrito or taco here!

Me and my wife didnt want to leave. Everything was perfect... if i was to have anything bad to say it would be the ants in the room other that that everything was great. The staff was friendly, the resort was well maintained, food and drinks was great and the view of the resot from our rooms was outstanding. will be going back nexted year!!

Great resort with superb food and service. We spoke to many other guests who were there as repeat guests. The grounds are immaculate and the attention to detail from the food, to the service, to the overall cleanliness of the resort is remarkable. The only blemish to the resort are the bags of sand off the beach that are there as temporary break waters to prevent beach erosion. I was told these will be removed in the near future as the beach is being gradually replenished with sand. You can still swim and snorkel and enjoy the beach. It is more of a visual annonyance than anything else. We are already making plans to return next year. Truly top notch!!!!!. P.S The birds and Iguana's on the property are very enjoyable and add to the overall ambience of the resort.

the beach and water were extremely disappointing, as the beach was very rocky and the water filled with gigantic sandbags. Swimming was virtually impossible.

I would recommend El Dorado Resort to anyone who would like to spend quite time and take a break from the hustle and bustle of the daily routine. The Jr Suite we stayed in is very nice and comfortable, very nicely maintained, close to restaurants and beach. There are plenty of restaurants to taste the gourmet food of your choice and they are all well served by the staff. Staff is very helpful and courteous. The location is excellent, travel arrangements are excellent to many sightseeing and shopping locations.

The hotel grounds are beautiful. The entrance is not as spectacular as you would expect from other hotels in the area, but the setting is more laid back and quaint, which I prefer. The Gourmet dinning was excellent and with good diversity.I loved the shower...it fits 4.The pools huge and the beach beds great. I didnt stay in the Casitas areas but I understand these are even better than the regular rooms.I plan to go back many times for mini get aways.

My wife and I stayed for 7 days at El Dorado Royale for our honeymoon and could not have been more pleased! The staff, grounds and food were the best we've ever had.
