This was the most unique hotel we've experienced. It is right on the water, meaning that we could open our window and we were staring directly down into Elliott Bay. We even fed seagulls from our window. The food at the restaurant was quite good. It was relaxing to sit in the lobby area by the fireplace and enjoy the water views. The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in, and that includes my own bed at home. We were delighted to find out that at one time The Beatles had stayed there, and they even have a Beatles Suite. The concierge and front desk services were extremely helpful to us as we figured out the best way to make our way around the city. We were able to walk to many of our destinations, but the hotel shuttle service was also available to us. We had considered other hotels, but were so glad we went with The Edgewater. It is such a unique, friendly, and relaxing place that our trip wouldn't have been as great without it. If we return to Seattle, I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Location and the bar was fabulous.

I had booked a city view room, but they upgraded to a water view without being asked. The room was very nice, clean, vaulted ceiling, nicely furnished, with a gas fireplace in the corner. USA paper in the morning and Starbucks coffee with the in-room coffee maker completed it. Everyone from the front desk to the room maid were attentive and pleasant. No in room safe, but free lock box up front. $30 per day for parking is a little excessive, even for Seattle. If you are healthy, it is a nice walk to the attractions along the water and to the market. I walked to the main shopping downtown and to the Quest building, but you have to be able to go up the hill. I have no negatives to say about the hotel and would consider it again. I go to Seattle several times a year and like to stay in different hotels just for the experiences.

Great staff, great location for those going on a cruise out of Seattle, really good restaurant. The only negative is that my wife is disabled but NOT confined to a wheelchair (it would have been easier if she had been). The hotel is built as a long, narrow corridor, and the only elevators are in the middle of that long corridor, which means that even if you have a room just above the lobby, you have to walk half way down the corridor to get the elevator (stairs are not an option for her) and then half way back up the corridor to get to the room; and it is a VERY LONG corridor. The only fix for this would be to either (1) install another elevator off the lobby; or (2) have wheelchairs available for use on the premises for disabled guests who do not travel with their own wheelchair. Of course, they can do nothing and wait for the inevitable ADA lawsuit... (just in case you Edgewater folks read this).

The dinning room was wonderful and we loved the happy hour there. The room itself was nothing special. The bathroom was wonderful but the room smelled like smoke even though it was non smoking. The carpeting was worn and old looking. The lobby was beautiful.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 days. I have never experienced hotel staff so friendly and helpful in everything we asked. We received a complementary upgrade as well as complementary crab cakes with a reservation they made for us. Their free shuttle drop off and pick up around downtown Seattle is wonderful. The hotel is extremely clean and the rooms are beautiful. I would highly recommend this hotel for any traveler to Seattle.

Our first room was a small room with one full size bed. We wanted a room that either had one queen size or two full size beds. They moved us to a room with a king size bed. We were happy. I didn't like that we had to complain about the room.

The location on the pier over the water is stunning. Walls are thin and you can hear your neighbors. Beautiful hotel in stunning location. Nice rustic cabin look and feel.

Stayed the weekend with my husband while visiting some friends. We picked it for the promise of a water front view and the fireplace. The location was great for downtown and an oversized clawfoot tub opened through pocket doors to the gas fire place, which did not disappoint. It was awesome, especially in the damp coolness of springtime Seattle. The hotel was definitely having an identitiy crisis though - modern meets early 90's southwest. The carpet in particular was ghastly. It looks like they put a lot of effort into the bathroom re-design but left the rest of the room (and the hallways) pretty much untouched. We reserved the higher priced water front (vs. water side) room but kinda thought our view ended up more side than front anyway. A basket of over priced goodies greeted us and that was only the beginning of the price tags - everything in the room could be purchased from the scratchy robes to the Seattle sweater-wearing teddy bear; tacky I thought. We liked the bear footstool but alas no price tag on that. We also weren't prepared for the parking charge of $5 p/hr or $30 p/day. If our friends wanted to come up for a second after dropping us off they had to valet park for $5/hr - on-street parking was available but across the highway and railroad tracks. We didn't try to the resturant but heard good things. For the reasons above we thought it was a bit over priced. I think we'll stay at one of the hotels on up a few blocks on the hill next time. Replace that carpet, modernize the bedroom color palatte at a minimum and we'll be back.

After staying at the Edgewater Inn, we walked right next door to board our cruise on the Norwegian Star. It couldn't have been more convenient! We liked the Edgewater's western decor, the contemporary tiled bath, and the friendly, helpful staff. It was a great experience.

Hotel was along the waterfront. Within walking distance of Pike's Place Market and Space Needle. Didn't realize Seattle had so many hills. Parking was pricey ($*night), but if you want to take a trip outside of downtown, the freeway is very easy to get to from the hotel. Hotel decor in lobby, lounge and Six Seven restaurant is very nice--eclectic. Get a waterfront room vs. city side room. Train tracks are on city side. Gorgeous views of Bainbridge Island across Elliott's Bay and the ferries that go to/from the island from a waterfront room.

The Edgewater is the perfect location for visiting Seattle. We traveled with four adults and one 4 year old. Upon arrival we were greeted by the valet staff who welcomed us warmly and helped with our luggage and directed us where we needed to go. The front desk staff was extrememly friendly and welcoming as well. Our rooms were extremely clean, perfect view of the water and the ferries with a great porch. The hotel was very nice but I didn't feel like my four year old son should not be there or that he may break something. It was a perfect place to saty and the fact that it also had a resteraunt was nice too. We will definatly stay there on our next trip to Seattle.

Nice decor. Small room for the money, tiny bathroom, staff made us feel rushed. I was very disappointed with this 4 star hotel. The room was incredibly small and no one offered us an upgrade (we would have gladly paid, the place was a closet). The heat came on in the middle of the night I woke up and thought I was literally burning in hell. My eyes where dried shut at 5 o'clock I fell over my boyfriend in an attempt to open the window he woke up drenched in sweat. One of the worst nights sleep ever! Then the rest of the morning we had to listen to the trains whistle by and we were woken up again at 8:00 am by the maid service. That was probably the first time I haven't left a tip for the cleaning staff (the room was very clean, but it was like they were trying to beat the door down or something).

If you must be snowed in Seattle for the biggest snowstorm in thirty years, the Edgewater is the place to stay--helpful staff, stunning views of Elliott Bay, cozy fireplaces in every room, great food in the restaurant. Being able to walk to the Aquarium, Pike Place Market, the Space Needle, art museums, etc., was certainly another plus. We will definitely stay in this lovely downtown hotel on our next visit to this beautiful city.

The best thing about the Edgewater is it's location. Not only is it right on the water, but it is literally minutes from some of Seattle's best attractions such as Pike Place Market and the Aquarium. The rooms have a a luxury log cabin type vibe, although the newly renovated bathrooms are quite modern, featuring slate stone showers and floors. The hotel itself features a small but well equipped fitness center, as well as a "business" center, where guests can use a computer in case they didn't bring their own. Of course, the views of the water are unparalleled. The staff was very friendly and helpful, whether delivering room service or helping to secure a cab. My one gripe about the hotel is that you can't check in until 4 (or in my case, 5 because they were running late). Other than that the Edgewater is pretty great - I would definitely stay here again!

The Edgewater Hotel is very quaint and unique. I enjoyed my stay and the service was wonderful. However, it was way overpriced for the rooms. I was disappointed in the size and decor of the expensive rooms.
