We planned a last minute stay because our holiday party was a 45 minute drive from our home and bad weather was supposed to be coming in. I searched for a good deal on a Madison hotel, and this is where I got it. I'm glad I did too! The hotel, banquet facilities and restaurant/bar are very clean and beautiful. I loved the way they had it decorated for the hoidays. The staff was friendly and the complimentary limo service was a wonderful surprise! Our concierege was wonderful! My only complaint is that the hotel could use some updating in the stairwells and guest rooms. The rooms didn't give off that comfortable, warm, cozy feeling like the common areas and restaurant/bar did. I would definitely stay there again, though, especially for the rate that I got!

I will never stay anywhere but here when I visit Madison. How can you beat the view or the price? It is a little on the old side but clean...and huge windows!

We really enjoyed the two room (living room + bedroom) layout. My husband likes to get up earlier than I do and this allowed us both to be comfortable. We also appreciate how welcoming they were to our small dogs. Park your car in the underground garage and walk a short distance to state street shopping and dining

The hotel needs to be entirely gutted and revamped. The rooms are old and outdated and common areas are worse. A rust colored shower in the morning and a 13"" TV is not my idea of a 3 star hotel. I spend about 150 nights per year in a hotel ranging from Hampton Inns to Westins, and this was literally the worse hotel I have ever experienced. If you can get a room for 30, it would be the only reason to stay here.

The Edgewater Hotel in Madison, Wisconsin is beautiful. The view looked over Minona Lake and you could walk to the capital. The room was large and had a table and chairs. It also had two chair on the opposite side of the room. Outside of the bathroom it had a little vanity area so someone could be getting ready while the other one is showering.
