Pool area was absolutely disgusting. We couldn't believe how bad it was - the tile has been removed and paint is peeling everywhere. If you are interested in lots of swimming for the kids (as we were), don't stay here. Location is great. Some aspects of room have been remodeled - carpet, furniture, others remain run-down (broken latches on doors to balconies, rusty hinges on doors).

Love the hotel...hot tub and heated pool are really nice! They have a lot of options for breakfast. Only thing is they need more elevators in the morning

Overall, this was acceptable accomodations. The rooms were newly remodeled, clean, and comfortable. We did not experience problems with parking or elevators. However, there were several areas that were disappointing or less than advertised. First, the advertised "free breakfast" was worthless other than the coffee. No other items were at all appealing. Also, the fitness center was only a small room with glass on all sides that could only be accessed by going to the front desk to request entrance. I was there for several nights and requested a "wake up" call on the second night. Fortunately, I woke up early and on my own; no call ever came. Again, the accomodations were acceptable for the price we paid; but you should be aware of what to expect versus what is presented on the hotel website.

The location is great - in the heart of Gatlinburg, only one block from the main strip of shops and activities. The staff were very friendly; the young man who did the housekeeping did a fantastic cleaning job - better than we received in Las Vegas. When we arrived there was a problem with the air conditioner cooling. I contacted the front desk and the problem was corrected immediately. The overall hotel has undergone a multi-million dollar renovation and is very attractive on first appearance especially for a tourist magnet community. However, some of the workmanship and materials used were not of "top quality". The painters left paint smears on the base tile in the bathroom and the laminate flooring in the elevators was not glued real tight nor of good quality. But, the hotel was very clean with a pleasing decor. Not everything was super positive. The lobby is not at the parking garage nor at street level. One must either walk up or take the elevator up or down one floor to get from the garage or street to the lobby. For the morning Continental breakfast - get there early. It closes at 10:00; we got there about 9:15 and the warm items were cold. Some of the items were all gone. The fitness "room" consists of two treadmills, one wind-wheel bike, and one stationary bike. The pool is a combination inside / outside - small but nice for cooling off. For a quick two-day getaway I highly recommend this facility - service, location to shops and attractions, easy drive up to the mountains or ski lodge, cleanliness, and overall pleasant decor. And, through travel website you can't beat the price.

The Edgewater Hotel was very nice. The room was clean, comfortable and the view was great. My kids liked the pool where you can swim under the glass wall and could go outside. The hotel offered a complimentary breakfast. The location was a half a block from the strip of Gatlinburg.

We travel to the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area annually, but we usually stay in Pigeon Forge. I thought it might be nice to stay in Gatlinburg this year, since we were going for our anniversary and didn't plan to do much outlet shopping. I looked at just about everything before settling on the Edgewater. Their promise of a multi-million dollar remodel is what sold me. They've definitely done a lot of work and it made everything smell clean and look up-to-date. We were on the 7th floor with an incredible view of both the Pigeon River directly below us, Gatlinburg and the Smokies. It was so relaxing to sit on our balcony and take in the sites! We didn't have to drive the entire weekend except when we went to Cades Cove to ride our bikes. Because the Edgewater is about halfway down the main strip (just a block behind it) we didn't even have to take the trolleys, although they are available for anyone who can't walk very far. I had read some reviews about that staff not being friendly and was prepared for the worst, but even though they weren't overly friendly, they were ok. They even let us check-in a few hours early. The continental breakfast was fine. Your ordinary continental fare of muffins, danishes, toast, hard-boiled eggs, etc. But if that's not what you're looking for, there are plenty of restaurants that serve breakfast close by. We had a wonderful time and will probably stay there again next year!

This was a great hotel! One of the nicest rooms we have stayed in on the main strip! Price was great as well. Pools, hot tub, and restaurant at the hotel were really nice too. We were right next door to the Mysterious Mansion and only a few minutes walk from the main shopping strip and the Ripley's Aquarium! The staff was very friendly and accomidating to our 2 year old! The hotel was newly renovated so everthing was VERY nice!! (only complaint: elevator was REALLY slow!!) We will definitly stay at this hotel again and will be recommending this hotel to our friends!

The waters edge hotel was very comfort and clean, the balcony was nice and clean. The hotel was far enough away to be away from the crowd but close enough to walk to everything. The breakfast was pretty bad. But it is in a safe location and you can leave your car and walk everywhere except for hiking. Hiking is also very close. Also has microwave, frige, iron, and hair dryer so you don't need to bring anything extra which is nice. Worth the price.
