When we first entered the room it was noted that the toilet was backed up, when we went to the front desk they handed us a plunger and said they would pick it up in the morning. We stayed 2 nights, after the 1st night the beds where not changed and the bed was made up with a magazine under the sheet.

The Price was reasonable. The staff and breakfast were horrible. My stay at the EconoLodge in Pekin, IL began with a leisurely 30 minute wait (at 1:00 a.m.) at the front desk for a desk clerk. The phone at the front desk had a sign that read dial 101 for clerk which I did 5 times letting the phone ring 20 times per try. The next morning my wife and I woke up to try the continental breakfast at 8:00 a.m. and were greeted the burned coffee and no selection. When we left the hotel again at 10:00 a.m. we were surprised to find a baby in one of the laundry carts. Checking out was also interesting as there was once again no clerk. One of the maids took my two room keys and asked for my address so they could mail me a receipt under the assumption that they would run the credit card that I used to reserve the room. Overall, not a very good experience as I'm not sure that I ever did see a clerk at the desk and definitely never saw any management staff.

I called the hotel to get help. The gentleman was very helpful and stayed on the phone with me until I got within a mile of the hotel. My stay was fine and the room was fine. I found a good chinese restaurant close by. The only part of my stay that was frustrating was that the cleaning lady was knocking on my door and 8:50 in the morning. I had just woken up. I have never had a cleaning lady at my door that early in the morning. Check out is at 11:00 - I shouldn't feel rushed out of my room.

Good location & price. Room smelled like a stale ashtray. It was just ok, disappointed with smell in room, our clothing picked up the stale ashtray smell. By the 3rd day the smell died down to tolerable, I guess. People were nice, breakfast ok.

Clean, friendly, helpful staff. Could have used a coffee pot in the room. It was a pleasant experience and if I need to go to the Pekin area again I will stay at the EconoLodge.
