We were originally booked to stay at the Super 8 on Rushmore Rd., but after seeing how dirty and smelly most of that hotel was, we switched to the Econolodge. What an improvement! While the Econolodge is nothing fancy, it was clean and had a pleasant smell. The room included all that we needed and was worth the price. I did notice that the hallways were noisy, mostly due to this being an economical choice for families with children. I also never ventured into the indoor pool/waterslide because it's small size resulted in it being packed whenever I peeked in. Overall, I would suggest this hotel to those of you who will be spending most of your time venturing out in the area and not for those of you who want to feel pampered by your accomodations.

The evening clerk when I checked in was very nice and informative. The pool which was the reason I paid extra for this hotel was unavailable in the morning of Memorial day. This hotel had a mini breakfast which was alright but nothing spectacular. The hotel showed no concern for the fact that I was traveling with two children and their pool was closed when it was supposed to be open and on top of that it was on Memorial Day. There check out time is 11:00 am and the pool when open does not even open until 9:00 am If you arrive at 11:30 pm like we did do not expect to park in front of your room if you paid extra for drive-up because the pots in front of the doors are not assigned to that room. It was a horrible experience and not one I am likely to repeat.

The location of this lodge is very good for tour of Mount rushmore, Crazy Horse, and wind crave national park. Room is clean and friendly staff are all good. but internet is working only at the front. It is good if you will go to this lodge only for tour but if you should work in your room with tour then you must find any other hotel please.

Swimming pool. Loud and couldn't sleep. Not too good.

The hotel was clean and staff friendly. There was only one working ice machine for the entire hotel which was inadequate. We were a bit disappointed by the hot breakfast which was really just buscuits and gravy, two choices of cereal, little pastries and apples. Overall though we were happy with the choice as it was a good value and served our needs.

I guess you get what you pay for. The pool was small for the amount of kids that were there. Breakfast wasn't bad but lacked waffles...lol Muffins and biscuits were cold (gravy was hot tho). Maybe it was the time of year but it sounded like kids were always running up and down the halls. Our kids were with us and overall they had a good time. After seeing other hotels in the area I might look a little harder at some of them next time. I did book this hotel thru Orbitz.

It was adequate. Limited breakfast, hard beds, out dated rooms, nor fridge. It was OK. Very limited breakfast. Rooms were OK, nothing great.

We had our reservation for 4 months. We asked for and was promised a non smoking room because of allergies. When we got there we checked in and went to the room,turned around and came back down because the beds had been 'slept' on, the room was heavy with smoke and not clean, the pool was so dirty that I wouldn't have allowed our kids to swim in it. They also charged for the night even though we were there less than 5 minutes.

Fair continental breakfast. Rooms were not clean and the staff was poor. When we arrived the elevator did not work and the rooms were not clean. We had no housekeeping and had to get our towels.

Hotel was understaffed and not very clean. Sheets didn't fit beds. No exhaust fan in the bathroom and floor tiles were loose. Beds were uncomfortable and pillows awful.

Front Desk Manager was very helpful. Did not recycle plastic water bottles. The front desk manager was very kind to adjust the error for us and give us the day we needed without any fuss or additional expense.

The hotel staff was ok. The noise from the other guests mostly kids running back and forth on the floor above us was real bad. the pool was too small and way too crowded. The rooms are good size but no fridge or microwave.

This hotel had a super set-up for a pool/hot tub/ and fabulous circular slide into the pool. It was great for a family. Location right near the expressway to airport. Only issues would be cleanliness of room and hallways (stained carpets) and the breakfast. Although it was understood to be a continental breakfast, most of those have at least some bananas or fresh fruit. This one did not.

We went there for the pool slide, kids loved it. The non smoking floor smelled very strongly of cigarette smoke. It is very economical, clean and close to everything.The staff even popped our microwave popcorn for us.

Every thin g ran smoothly and slow clean up quickly taken care of. SLiked the location right in the middle of things. Breakfast was very good and allowed us to get on with our trip without having to look and take time at commercial restaurant.

The clerk behind the counter was beautiful, that was the only bonus. The elevator was so filthy I didn't want to let my suitcase touch the carpet. They also have no internet access. The beds were cheap; they had the ends of the comforters pulled off the floor, which tells me they have a bug problem. The lack of internet astounds me; I had to go next door to the Super 8 and pretend to be a guest to get the access codes to their internet. The breakfast was cereal, muffins, doughnuts. They did have a pool with a waterslide, the pool is very small so you can't do a lap in it, and the whirlpool had 1/3 of the jets not working. The room also did not have an iron in it. The transportation to the airport is $17.00 if you are solo, and $13.00 if another guest is with you, but the guest has to be picked up with you at the Econo Lodge, other riders in the van from other hotels do not count towards a discount. The best part of the stay was that there was an outback next door.

The Econolodge did not seem to have a friendly atmosphere. The staff did not seem competent and willing to help the customer properly. There was a lot of noise in the complex. The breakfast left a lot to be desired. The coffee makers were not working for breakfast and that was unfortunate. The staff seemed to have no idea how important that could be. The room itself was very dirty and upon complaining the staff seemed oblivious. All in all, we would not recommend this to any of our friends.

Clean, nice waterslide, quiet, good area. Extremely dirty carpet in elevator. Good stay for the price. Clean rooms and fun for the kids. Very friendly and helpful front desk staff.
