Overall it was decent. Wasn't anything spectacular but for the price it was definatly worth it. The one thing that disappointed me is i booked a room on a upper floor with a balcony and i ended up with a patio by the pool. So kids running up and beating on my door for fun was not... fun.

The old adage you get what you pay for could not be more accurate. To be fair the hotel was close to the beach and there was adequate parking. However the staff (not all but most) lacked personality and people skills of any kind. You always had to walk through a fog of smoke to get into the hotel and it was usually the staff sitting around smoking and complaining about co-workers and other guests-very unprofessional. The rooms were very dirty and smelled of smoke, food, and body odor. The dishes and utensils provided were dirty, the toaster and safe were broken and the clothes rack was falling out of the wall. Not to mention you had to ask to have the room serviced and they gave you attitude when you did. However, even though the hotel is located in a nice part of the city, the highlight had to be the two nights in a row when the police and paramedics showed up to retrieve a guest who was either intoxicated or had O.D. and the second night they were there for a stabbing that occurred in the hotel leaving a trail of blood in the stairway that we walked through on our way back from dinner with our 13 month old. Never Again!

The EconoLodge OceanBlock was very nice for a very nice price. The room was very spacious, the bathroom was very clean. There is an awesome place to eat right across the driveway,Nick's Famous Ribs, off season they open after 4. My suggestion try the TKO Punch. Locations is great, right across from a movie theatre. One block up is Fenwick Island Delaware. Pool is heated even off season.

I stayed here with a group of High School kids that were traveling for a sporting event. The kids were very well behaved but the people in the hotel ( staff and guests ) were the problem. I was woken up by drunk guests banging on my door at 4:30am. When I complained I was told, "Sorry, we'll talk to them". They have video of the event but all they would do is say sorry. The owner said if I had a further problem I should call him and he would take care of it immediately. When I checked out I found out that they charged someone else's room on my Credit Card. They said they didn't. I contacted my bank, they called the hotel and said they had the transaction in front of them. Only then did the hotel admit their mistake. They said they'd call me when they had refunded my money. They didn't call back to tell me they had done it. When I called to speak to "X" the owner, he wasn't in and "XX" who answered said that he'd give the message but X wouldn't call me back. STAY AWAY!!!!

Don't go unless it's during the summer season. The hotel restaurant was closed. There is no lobby. Finding a convenient place for meals was required effort. We only wanted to rest!

Room was a nice size and it was great to have an efficiency room with children. The room is cleaned everyday. The beds are pretty hard and the room is dated. Blankets and Comforters are old and worn looking. We were close to the beach which was a definite plus with kids. They do have an outdoor shower but it is pretty cold. The pool was a perfect size and there is a nice little bar/patio to get food and drinks in the summer. The staff at the front desk could be a little more helpful, but you really don't interact with them too much. Make sure you call ahead of time to get a non-smoking room and the lobby smells of smoke. The rates were ok. I think that if they remodeled this hotel then they would be one of the better hotels for families. They are located on Feniwick Island and it was a quiet beach vs the boardwalk which we like.

The Eco Lodge was right on the DE MD border. So we missed it the first time by. We had a partial ocean view and could smell the ocean. The kitchenette was a big money saver on this trip also. We could walk to the beach and to a steak house right next door. The room was very clean.

This was a great surprise and we booked online!! When we arrived we were shocked as to the location. Away from it all. But that's what was soooo great abt it. The bar and entertainment was excellent and we had a pool side room. This was great to stay at if we had a very long day of walking and driving. It was a pleasure to come back to when the bar was kicking and laughter being heard from the street. Couldn't wait to join in the fun.

After being in this hotel several times we have always found it about the same, very nicely kept. The pool area is very, very nice. It is close to the beach and many restaurants. It is in a quiet area of town. We have not been there for many years and went back to find it was still as nice, if not nicer than previously. We had not been there since it is an Econo Lodge. The only thing I could find fault with was their wireless internet was hard to connect with.

"I booked this hotel based on rates and my expectations were pretty low. I was surprised how ever when i checked in. The room was more than i expected and looked like it had been recently remodeled. A short(5 min) walk to the beach, a clean pool, tiki bar, and low priced rooms were all plusses. the only negative is the lack of a full service restaraunt."
