Stay away at all costs! You will do better in a homeless shelter. The place was filthy. The "furniture" was old and looked like it came from a third world country junk sale. The floors were awful and the bathroom measured about 5X5 feet The heating/cooling unit was bent, dirty and falling off the wall. The bed looked like it was slept in. I took all the towels and put them on the bed and actually slept in my clothes. It was horrible. Even worse was when I asked to change rooms because the phone did not work. The key from the first room worked in the second room and there was only a flimsly chain lock for "security". Needless to say I had to stay there because I was stranded. I left as soon as it was daylight. NEVER EVER AGAIN.

The Newark Econo Lodge is definitely a place to avoid if at all possible. I saw that many of the online travel site members had rated this hotel poorly, but a friend and I decided to stay here regardless because of the cheap price. Needless to say, everything they said and more was true of this place. When we boarded the shuttle bus from the airport to the hotel, we were greeted by an unfriendly driver who drove wildly, and the reception at the actual hotel wasn't much better. The room we stayed in wasn't bad for the price, but be forewarned that you do get what you pay for. Probably the most memorable experience from staying at the Newark Econo Lodge was the "complementary wake-up service" which we received at 5am, when the person staying in the room next to us started making a lot of noise. The walls at this hotel are paper thin. I don't enjoy rating hotels badly, but this hotel is certainly one to avoid, and I hope no one will make the same mistake I did of ignoring the online travel reviews.

We only actually stayed 5 minutes. Furniture was stained, carpet was filthy (not vaccuumed either). Tub in such bad shape, we wouldn't even want to stand in it for a shower.

Worst hotel experience of my entire life!!!!! The hotel room didn't seem safe, it had bad service, the door sometimes wouldn't shut, and the maid was very rude (when I said that I didn't need my room cleaned because I just got there and didn't even unpack she said that she had to clean my room anyway or else she wouldn't get paid). Then on my third night I discovered ants in my bed. I told the manager that I wanted a refund and he said that the ants were my fault, just because I ate one small package of candy on the bed. The ants were EVERYWHERE, so I said that if I ate a little on my bed at any other hotel that wouldn't have happened. I only received a 10 percent refund. It wasn't even worth the price to stay in this hotel. Please, just pay a little more to actually have a fun and safe vacation.

"An older motel, located in a primarily industrial area near Newark Airport. Rooms were small, but clean. I just needed a place to rest my head before an early morning flight. Proximity to the airport, 24 hour shuttle service and a cheap rate were worth the less than desirable neighborhood. Good rest. in Sheraton hotel next door."

We will never stay here again. While here, the front desk manager was really rude, incompetent and unprofessional. The first room we were in was filthy. The second room was a little better, but not much. They didn't have washcloths in the bathroom and only had one towel and two handtowels. When we called the front desk to ask them to bring us some, that took about a half hour.

My trip had an overnight layover in Newark so I stayed at this hotel. When I arrived via the shuttle I was surprised by how run down everything was. I went into the office which was in disarray and I was not impressed with good service. I walked to my room which was a long walk outside with minimal lighting and I went into the room which had a plugged in heater and a tub with a clogged drain. This place was a disaster and I would not recommend it to anyone.

room was vey duty. the sheets had hair in them. i did not feel safe in the room. i checked out 15 minutes after checking in. in the middle of the night.do not recommend it to anyone

"This has to be the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. It's in serious need of a makeover and the rooms aren't that clean. I know the rooms were inexpensive for the area and I didn't expect much but I did expect a decent, clean place."

The staff was nice. However... This was the worst motel I ever stayed in. The T.V did not work. They changed us to another room. The T.V and the AIR did not work. Had to move to ANOTHER room. ALL 3 rooms/ the whole place is in need of a make over.
