The Econo Lodge at Lake Norman was in a very convenient location for vacationers or race fans. The hotel is a little on the worn-out side. The bedspreads were stained on the backsides and the shower cutain was also stained. The bathroom wallpaper was peeling and dirty in the corners. Also, the tub had hair in the drain and was not draining. On the other hand the staff was marvelous. Very enjoyable. The continental breakfast was very good and good coffee.

Ruined our whole trip to see our kids and grandkids in town. Turned down bed at 11: 30 PM to find pubic, dog and human head hair in sheets and blanket. Had to go to front desk to get new bedding and change myself. Staff was OK,but only willing to waive $15 pet fee. Was told I could have asked for another room. Why woud I do this at almost midnight--- Maybe to find another unhealthy room.? Should have demanded comp price and called health dept. BTW--if you get a pet room here, you can only sleep in room on I-77 side of motel, about 50 yards from endless traffic noise.

Dirty showers, Water leak under sink, Oders in the room , Unfriendly, Unprofessional staff, No variety at breakfast, the list goes on and on . This was the worst hotel I have stayed in, in any of my travels to anywhere at anytime ! Do yourself a favor and dont stay here. The best part of my stay was when I left !!

Convenient location and good price! Small pillows. Good location for what we needed! Good price! Friendly staff. Adequate breakfast bar.

We stayed during race weekend and it is very overpriced for the type of motel. Vending machines were all empty the entire 3 day weekend. Front desk personnel said they couldn't do anything about it.

Location to my event and other attractions. Beds were old and uncomfortable. Room was old and needed updating. Paint was peeling and did not feel clean. Ventilation fan in bathroom did not work.

For the price they commanded for the Holiday weekend, the rooms should be cleaner. Huge dustwebs throughout and black ring around toilet. Pillows were paperthin. Not expecting the Ritz, but for the money spent, not very impressed.

Location was easy to access from freeway. Room seemed shoddily redone. Ok for an overnight, but not as a destination.

They were able to accommodate my request with no problem. Needs more vending and ice machines. I go to Alabama 3 or more times a year and I travel with 2 small children, so I split my trip. My room was in an excellent spot so I didn't have a lot of toting to do and the kids loved the breakfast. Plus the staff was friendly as well.

Location, the amenities, cleanliness and size of the room. An excellent hotel for the price! Very spacious, clean with good amenities (microwave and refrigerator in the room!) An excellent location for restaurants, shopping and sight seeing!

The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. There wasn't much variety on the continental breakfast. Also I brought with me a DVD player to watch movies but the TVs are older and would not take the connection.

Close to restaurants. Needed more selection on continental breakfast. Was overall satisfied. Breakfast could had more selections.

Close to interstate highway. Poor quality bedding, room not made up every day, odor in room, wrong room at check-in, had to move once. Average price for this type of room (1 Star). Our first room had leftover food in the mini-fridge, bathroom was un-cleaned and was a non-smoking room, even though I had called the hotel several days in advance to request smoking and it was suppose to be all set up. Location was good. I would NEVER stay at another Econo-Lodge again, it should be rated -1 star. The beds were as hard as rocks, and the pillows were just puffed up air, I'm glad we brought our own pillows. As a business traveler I've been in thousands of rooms, and this was one of the worst yet. After returning home I checked this property out and found it was formerly under another name from the same chain (Comfort Inn), and had been downgraded to an Econ0 Lodge. Apparently they do this as the properties get older and the value is less.

the location and cleanliness of my room. The lady behind the counter. Rude, horrible, evil. The hotel was conveniently located near the interstate and eating establishments. I felt safe there and my room was clean and orderly.

Convenient for our purpose. Not very nice, but good for what we paid! This place isn't anything exceptional however you get what you pay for! It really wasn't as bad as I thought it might be!
