I'll start by saying when we pulled up the police were in the lobby and there were dumpster divers all around looking for cans. The room smelled of stale beer and there were cigarette butts surrounding the door to come in the building. I can't say this is the worst hotel that I've stayed at, but it was close.

.4 miles from our event. Not really clean bathrooms. I would stay again, if just overnight.

The staff. Air conditioner was broken in our room as well as the toilet was too close to the shower. I have stayed in hotels and this was a moderate visit. The lady who checked me in and out was very polite. The housekeeping actually knocked before trying to enter. (I had a problem with that at a different hotel) The staff is very nice. However the problem lies with maintenance and design. Our air conditioner was broken and the toilet was way close to the shower. It was a very cramped bathroom.

Our room didn't have a phone. It also didn't have a clean hand towel hanging up after the first day as a dirty one was hung on the rack. The room doors fail completely at keeping the hallway noise in the hallway, but that was as much a function of inconsiderate guests as the door being worthless.

The room was grimy and it was in an unsafe location.

I was in Kalamazoo on business so I didn't need too much and that's exactly what I got. This Econo is getting a little old and it feels it. It's also not near much of anything except for the interstate. I like to take a walk to someplace to eat after a long cramped flight. Unfortunately there is only one restaurant within walking distance. That's not completely accurate, there are a couple within a half mile, but walking to them literally involves putting your life in jeopardy. There are no sidewalks in this part of town. Getting to dining required walking along the highway and crossing a bridge. Walking against traffic wasn't too bad, but walking with traffic was very scarry. I realize most travelers would hop into the car, but for me it was a definite negative for the Econo. I've been to other Econo Lodges that have had much nicer breakfast areas with a little more variety in food offerings. This Econo had three very small tables in the corner of the checkin area and the coffee was always only warm (I stayed two nights).

Nothing. Bad and unfriendly customer service. Not clean. We arrived at the hotel at 11:30 pm there was a leak and one of the ceiling in a room collapsed. An older couple was injured and their belongings damaged. The staff was horrible at taking care of its customers and answering questions. After waiting an hour and still unable to check into my room. One of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at.

There is nothing good about this place. Dirty, smelly place with bad service. It was hard to tell which when I entered room 131 at the Econo Lodge in Kalamazoo, Michigan. I've been told that the authorities, when investigating the report of a met lab in an apartment or room, often detect the telltale odor of cat urine in a place that was used to make met I don't know. I arrived at about 10:30 on a Friday night. It was a warm evening. The air in the lobby of the Econ Lodge was even warmer, more humid, stifling. The man gave me a room key and vague directions to the room. I drove my car to the inside of the courtyard, the motel being roughly U shaped. I noticed that the parking lot was quite in need of resurfacing with small weeds growing up through the cracks. It looked as though I could reach my room by going through the outdoor pool area. I opened the gate to find a tarp pulled over the pool with putrid water pooling on the surface of the tarp. A pool skimmer and some other implement were tossed carelessly on the concrete surrounding the pool. Metal umbrellas, maybe once used back when the pool was in use (seeming long ago), sat idle, bent, sad on the ground. A drinking fountain stood dirty and unused at one end of the pool. I found my way past this and into the building. Dingy hallway, dirty carpets. It was creepy. I found room 131 and entered to smell the cat urine. I rolled back the bedspread and found hairs (pubic and otherwise) scattered on the sheets of the bed. 'I'm not sleeping here,' I said to myself. I called the desk and told the man what had awaited me when I had arrived. He seemed to care little for my plight but said that he would try to find another room. Room 127 was open. We walking to it together and found that it didn't smell like cat urine. Excellent! I did find, however, that there was food left in the refrigerate.

This hotel offered a nice value for the money. No frills, but easy access and very friendly service. If you're looking for a good nights sleep for the night at a great price, this is a good deal. It also offers a couple of places to eat nearby and a contenental breakfast.

We checked in after dark. Everything was smooth. Got to the room and it was not remodeled and it had an odor. Thank goodness there was a window we could open. Noisy night. Breakfast the next morning was ok. After checking out and heading to the car, we see a sign on the motel
