Over all the stay was great. Yet to walk my dog it was quite the incline. But hey it was good exercise. The staff and rooms were great. And the breakfast was delicious! Love the waffles. I recommend the fruit with them instead of butter and syrup or peanut butter. It was close to the attractions that my husband and I wanted to see and do. I would most definitely stay there again.

On 09/09/07, I made a reservation at this hotel for the night of 09/29/07. I was told at that time that the room reservation was non-cancellable, a fact that I understood to mean that I would be charged for the room if I canceled the reservation between that time and the actual date of arrival. This is something I do NOT have a problem with. In review of that account statement the morning of the 14th, I discovered that the hotel personnel took it upon themselves to post the charge on the day the reservation was made and that it was withdrawn from my account effective 09/10/07. NO ONE told me that my account would be charged prior to my arrival on the 29th, therefore I had no idea that these funds had been removed from that account. As a direct result of this, I had no idea of the actual balance in that account and with several other charges arriving shortly thereafter, the account was overdrawn and the bank charged me $70.00 for two overdraft fees. I FINALLY was able to speak with the hotel manager, Don Newhart, late that afternoon and he was EXTREMELY rude, unhelpful, condescending and unapologetic. I have reserved many many hotel rooms at locations throughout the country and I have NEVER been charged prior to my arrival date. While I understand that the hotel wants to make sure that they make the money for the room, I do think that the employee who took my reservation should have informed me on the 9th that they were going to charge my account immediately. I could have then made the decision to go forward or decline based on this information. Mr. Newhart seems to believe that I was to infer from the statement that the reservation was non-cancellable, that they would be immediately charging my account. I am not and never have been in the hospitality industry and have no idea how I was supposed to make that assumption. Mr. Newhart actually implied that the overdraft charges were my own fault for not keeping sufficient funds in my account. I keep sufficient funds in that account to cover expenses I am anticipating. Anything else is no one's business but my own. I stay at Choice Hotels with some regularity and have in the past written complimentary letters and emails when I felt that service I received warranted it.

Inexpensive, decent location and very clean. Lobby was located in another building. Hotel was clean and comfortable. Good for a short stay (weekend). Good location for shopping and restaurants. Staff was very friendly.

The hotel had not been informed that we needed a non-smoking room, so when we got into our room, we needed it cahnaged (my mother has horrible allergies). The woman at the front desk went above and beyond and was very personable, helpful and friendly and changed our room right away!

A very unethical manager. This franchise gives Econolodge a black eye. I made reservations there for three nights in January, and called back 10 days before the reservation to change to two days. The manager changed the charge so that two nights cost more than three. I tried to cancel, and the manager said there was a policy of no cancellations within 2 weeks of the reservation. He claimed an email was sent with that policy at time of reservation. None was received. Called the corporate offices in Maryland, they were sympathetic but could not force a cancellation. We stayed there unwillingly, the manager asked at check out if I had stolen his iron. The room was to be in the lodge (better), I was placed in the motel building (worse).

The Hotel is clean and the Staff is great! The parking is horrible. I have stayed at this location on several occasions and the hotel is always clean and the staff great! However it has some of the worst parking I have ever encountered, it is however manageable even in a extended cab, long bed truck, you just have to find some of the less obvious lower parking areas.

Stayed 1week for business and appreciated the amenities offered. Very clean room, great breakfast and the Staff was extremely professional. Will stay again and will recommend to others. Thanks!

Manager is one of the rudest service personnel I have EVER had the displeasure of dealing with..... Not only to me, but to several others in our party, including the bride who booked the original block of rooms. Recommend staying FAR away from this hotel.

Overall, the staff was very friendly. There were boxes of local magazines piled in the lobby. Not attractive at all! Generally, we were please with the room for the price. The only issue we had was when we returned to our room at 4pm (we stayed two nights), and it had not yet been cleaned. When I reported this to the desk, we were told that the housekeeping staff was late that day. When they finally showed up, we were settled in for a while and would only let them in for the trash and to bring fresh towels.

The room was very nice, but they made a mistake with the reservation and booked us in a smoking room instead of non-smoking and could not change our room. Needless to say, all of our clothes smelled of cigarettes when we left. The pool wasn't very clean either. The complementary breakfast seemed to be good, however, we left too early to try it.

Location. No room service/cleaning. Good hotel location wise. Maids never came by to clean room. Good choice for business traveler (free wife), but unless its summer time would not pick for a family destination.

Room was clean, spacious, comfortable for a family of 5. Continental breakfast was GREAT. Staff was super professional, friendly, and helpful. Highly recommend this hotel.

Wireless internet, location. Hilly parking. Excellent, good value.

We were booked for only 2 nights--that was enough!! Check-in staff was extremely rude. Night staff is extremely rude (daytime staff-the owner is hospitable). Hotel is close to highway, poor hilly parking situation, no sidewalk or grassy places to walk around grounds, outdoor pool (which was closed) is right in the middle of the parking lot, complimentary breakfast was very poor, unable to regulate shower, water was uncomfortably hot.

Convenient location. The continental breakfast was not as good as expected. The breakfast was a disappointment. The waffles were good but the fruit was fruit cocktail. The apple juice tasted mostly of water. The room was clean but got stuffy in the night no matter how high we tried to turn the AC on.

Waffles for breakfast and an internet connected computer in the lobby. Only 1 washer and dryer and the elevator broke down. The parking area for the Lodge was too hilly and should have been more leveled off. The rooms were very nice, though the bathrooms could have been a bit bigger. The beds were comfortable, though the pillows were small and hard. The TV was quite nice, and very well placed for viewing from the beds. Having the iron and ironing board in the rooms is quite handy.
