This is a brand new hotel, very clean as it should be. The vanity is small but seperate from the bathroom. You will have to go through the T.V. chanels and write them down as there is not a station list in the room. They were short on staff but even after long hours the staff was still very friendly and helpful. The only thing I can complain about is I was there on business and they gave me a handicap room which I did not ask for. Handicap rooms do not have a desk or table therefore I had to try to do work on the bed which was very uncomfortable. In the future I will be sure to request not to have this type of room. There are fast food near by on University Ave,nice restraunts a couple of miles from the hotel, convience store down the street for your gas and snacks,and a Cigarette Outlet around the corner for all of your adult drinking supplies. The fair grounds are right across the street, the Casino, race track and Adventure Land amusement are just a few miles away. I will be staying in this hotel again for business but would also stay for pleasure.

Front desk associate was very nice and very helpful. Were vising Des Moines and the associate was very helpful in locating places to visit and places to stay when relocating. Rooms are small but clean and has essentials.

We stayed here on our way down to Florida, with our 4 younger kids. A really nice place, great people, clean. The pool was nice and we were the only ones using it for most of the time. It had the nice new linens, not the old bed spreads. I really enjoyed it and would definitely stay there again. Don't let the fairgrounds thing throw you off. It was a great place to stay at a great price!!

The location for the event was great! It did not feel safe and appears to have suffered abuse. This hotel was less than a 2-star rating in terms of its overall atmosphere and parking accommodations. Having a very loud biker bar and student housing next door added to feelings of unease when coming/going from the parking lot.

We have stayed at this establishment a couple of times since they opened and are scheduled to be there again for the Iowa Beef Expo, Iowa State Wrestling and Iowa State Fair. They offer exceptional service and even opened their breakfast up an hour earlier to accomodate our kids' schedules with their livestock. Their staff is working at all times to make your stay the best that it can be. For us it about the convenience of be so close to the fair grounds and with it being only a short distance to the interstate it makes the trek to the state wrestling a breeze (only a shuttle service would be better as parking downtown is never good).

Conveniently located in East Des Moines where nice hotels are a commodity. Room with 2 double rooms too cramped! Our room had two double beds which were crammed into a small room with a TV and table with a chair that didn't have enough room to pull out for sitting. Beds were relatively comfortable but seemed really small as well. Overall, clean and attractive new facility though! Super nice spa and pool! Family friendly if you like being close to your family!

Clean, neat, comfortable. Smells a little weird, but acceptable. The overall quality of the hotel was good enough for me, just a little smell but it was acceptable. Good for one/two-night stay.

The hotel was clean and conveniently located. One of the beds was right next to the air conditioner. I was a little concerned about staying at a Econ-Lodge hotel. I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean and quiet.
