rented a fantasy suite "NIFTY FIFTYS" on oct 16th 2009 for my wife and my 10 year anniversary. The room was perfect except the heat didnt work.Management gave us new room Oriental jade which was ok except for hot tub not working and it had cockroaches.we have never been so dissappointed in a hotel room like we were with this one.We complained and owners did nothing for us.I filed complaint with BBB to try to get money back.Hallways smelled like pee and vomit. This hotel is just plain nasty avoid staying here unless u like CRAPPY smelling hotels. You will get ripped off at this place.the videos u see on website on fantasy suites must have been from when they were first built. They dont look like that. This hotel totally ruined our anniversary. The tv didnt work in either rooms we were in.They have cameras in hallways of fantasy suites but no one in office watches them.We had people fighting in hallway at 4 am called office no answer.THIS PLACE IS A JOKE DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME STAYING HERE YOU WILL BE VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are coming back to Chicago & will NOT come back to this hotel. You definitely get what you pay for in this hotel. The staff was nice, but hardly spoke English. Hallway smelled like a litter box. I had to go to the front desk & ask for towels, shampoo, and the tv remote. The tv sounded crappy, and had that awful green/red color to it. Hardly got any channels in. When I saw the waffle maker upon arrival, I was excited about getting a warm breakfast. At 8am they still hadnt put any waffle mix out, no fruit, no donuts, just a few boxes of mini cereal & two gallons of milk. The apple juice came out of a machine that I guess hadnt been cleaned in a while because it tasted like mildew. (you know the taste when you get something out of a dirty machine). One good thing was that it was at a good location..close to six flags & any fast food...but not in the middle of everything. Im easy to please, but thank God we only stayed one night.

I thought the price was good and it was close to six flags, but when we got their the rooms were very small and gross. We actually found a pair of dirty underwear in the bathroom. The tv only got 3 channels so we could not enjoy tv when we came back to the room. We did not want to stay the second night, but the management refused to refund our money so we had to.

It was very basic just like a hotel. The breakfast area was very small without a whole lot of variety.

Hotel false advertises there is no pool ,no ocean views, deluxe breakfast was Fruit Loops ,White bread, and a toaster. The beds were not plush like the pics.they were hard and uncomfortable.Got there had booked a smoking room ,they gave it to someone else. I thought the price was because of a military discount...Boy what a disapointment .The bathtub was dirty had a scum ring .I think they had better change the pics on ther before someone gets them for False Advertising and misleading Pics.

Wonderful Resort! Adam at the front desk is a great asset to the resort. Great customer service, Very clean. I felt at home and very much welcomed. All staff were great!

The hotel is clean, but I had a problem with the TV not receiving all the listed channels. They did not fix it during the 4 days of my stay, although I requested several times. A guy looked at it and jiggled the wires, and that was the extent of the repair. The bed was too firm for my tastes, and the breakfast area very small and cramped. If you are visiting 6 flags, it is very close to that attraction. There are better choices in the area, but the cost is higher. You get what you pay for. Lot's of restaurants and shopping within a couple of miles.

The close proximity to all the attractions.

The pictures definitely do not represent this hotel. Even though the online travel website listing specifically says it is several miles from the waterfront, so there is no beach. It is quite literally a stone's throw from a railroad, with trains running at all hours of the night that shake the building. I guess they could advertise vibrating beds that don't require quarters. It is definitely not one of the better neighborhoods in Waukegan, though I didn't have any problems.

We enjoyed our stay. This was our second time here. We brought our Daughter and Son In Law this trip & they really liked it here. We will come back again. We love our ocean view rooms.[

the econolodge in gurnee is in a great location if you are visiting 6 flags great america, however i was somewhat dissatisfied with the customer service and the housekeeping. the clerk who checked me in was on the phone for a long time and did not once acknowledge my presence. the hallway and room had a musty smell, the beds were uncomfortable and the tv was barely audible (humming noise). while my family and i was out visiting six flags our room was not serviced, we returned to the same dirty bathtub, sink, unmade beds and no fresh towels. i went to the front desk and the clerk was rude (she looked at me as if i was from another planet) when i told her that my room had not been serviced. i had to find the housekeeper and obtain fresh towels and cleaning solution to clean the tub and sink myself!!!! needless to say i will not visit econolodge in gurnee again!!!!

There is no water any where near this hotel. It is run down, old, and smelly! The people are nice, but I wouldn't go back.

So glad we picked this resort hotel. Couldn't be better.Close to town, yet not too close. Relaxing, comfortable, quiet, nothing bad. Will stay here next time.

The room was very stink. The managers were not friendly. The Lobby is attractive. The hall way and rooms are musty. I used febreeze daily. House keeping is a joke. They did not change the towels, even if they were left on the bath room floor, house keeping would just place it back on rack. But if you request a clean towel they would get if for you, with disdain.

Our stay here was wonderful! We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. Right on the beach and walking distance to Front St. shopping. Would definitely stay here again!

The shower was clogged upon arrival. The TV was not working and it took the staff awhile to come and fix the tub. Was not pleased with my stay. They also ran out of breakfast at 7:30 when it started at 6:00.

Great location and weather/ocean views but the property is in need of some major improvements for the location it is in. You have a 5 star restaurant right next door, Pacifico's that everyone goes to for the view, sunsets and food yet the Lahaina Shores is pretty shabby. We do love to come back every year because of it's great location and views.
