I don't have enough good things to say about the Econolodge in Franklin Ohio... while clearly an older facility, the hotel was very clean and exactly what I typically look for in a right-off-the-interstate type of hotel. However, what truly set this hotel apart was the service I received. To make a long story short, I ended up at this hotel after my car died on I-75 a solid 4 hours from anywhere that I knew anybody. What's worse was that I was driving north to funeral, and was in danger of not being able to make it up in time. This hotel is independently owned, and the gentleman who owns it is named Bob. I can tell you that Bob and his staff were extremely helpful and friendly throughout the ordeal I experienced in Franklin, Ohio, and when it turned out that the car was going to need serious work and I needed to rent a car to get out of there, Bob himself was good enough to drive me to the Hertz car rental 20 miles up the road in Dayton. All told, this hotel was very clean and has wifi with a reasonable connection, and Bob and his staff really went over and above the call of duty, at least for me. They're good people, and I know that the next time I find myself requiring a room in that general area, I'll be visiting this hotel again without hesitation.

The Econo Lodge in Franklin was a really pleasant surprise. Not only was the room spacious and clean the location was central to shopping and dining as well. Easy check-in and out made this a really smooth trip.

Good location and good price. Dirty room and poor room service. Hotel is located in a convenient location near the interstate. The price is good. The room service was poor with insufficient towels and dirty bottles laying on the floor. The beds were not properly made. The toilet was unflushed and stunk. One "no smoking room" smelled very badly of smoke. The manager was not available after 10 p.m. and when we departed at 6 a.m.

The Manager. The other guy. I was woken up two nights in a row at 5 am by the phone Ive stayed in many hotels and I know what a wake up call is I didn't ask for one at 5 in the morning. The guy at the counter was not friendly. We had a disagreement about the laundry machine that is on their property and he didn't give me any money back claiming it wasn't their responsibility. I apologized for my actions - as I had just gotten off of a plane from Australia to LAX to INDY and had driven about 1.5 hours - so - I was up for more than 30 hours straight. The next day the man still had an attitude about the laundry incident. That night was when I got the first wake up call then the following night. I left my room 3 times during the day and each time I came back my door key wouldn't work. I had to go back to the front and get them reprogrammed.

Close to the highway and easy to locate. The beds awfully hard. The hotel was nice the staff was very polite, coffee was fresh the following morning, overall the hotel was nice.
