Booking this hotel through Orbitz was the biggest mistake I ever made. I didn't know the word "budget" meant "dirty", "cheap", "dangerous", and "moldy". Point blank, this Econo Lodge is not a motel, it is a crack den. It does not even deserve 1/2 a star. We drove 8 hours from San Francisco to explore the Redwood National Park and Forest and booked our stay here because we were on a budget, but upon our arrival there was absolutely no possible way we could spend the night there, especially with small children. The parking lot was the first give away, it was infested with motorcycle gangs, large butchy women, and men wearing wifebeaters. There was a sign stating the mgt. was not responsible for theft or damage to our car while in the parking lot, clue that. One young man was working out with weights, in the parking lot, and another was working on his car, not bad, but really not something that should be done in the parking lot of a supposedly respectable motel. The room? Let's just say, if a blue light was passed over the room, you would run out horrified. The entire room smelled like mold and fungus, the carpet and bedspread were sticky and stank of a wet dog, I did not want the children to touch one thing in that room. And the bathrooms? Linoleum floors and a tub, toilet and sink so old it looked like it had last been updated in 1950. We went back to the front desk to check out within 20 minutes of our arrival, where the receptionist seemed more interested in helping the person she was chatting with on the telephone than the people standing right in front of her. Rude behaviour to say the least, but expected, because she was on the phone chatting when we checked in too. Quite simply, we demanded a refund. The motel was not fit for us to stay, it was not clean, and I did not feel safe in the room. It's only fair that if you have prepaid for something, and it does not live up to your expectations, that the right business practice, and the polite thing to do would be t

We enjoyed leaving. Filthy room, drunk kids partying in the lot all night, neighbors yelling at 3am, manager barely understood/spoke English. We were checked into a very dirty room, the sheets did not look to have been changed, loud music was playing outside in the parking lot all night. The neighbor below was yelling at the kids in the parking lot all night, we got roughly 2 hours of sleep. The manager was very unkempt and did not speak much English. We left then. With us being on such a short budget we opted to sleep in our car the remaining stay.

Rundown, dirty, moldy are the highlights of this terrible motel. Don't waste your money, find another place to stayhotel. Can't believe that Travelocity has this fleabag on their list.

My boyfriend and I travel up to Eureka a few times a year because we love the area. We stayed at the Econo Lodge because our normal hotel was all booked up and this one seemed like the best value for the price online. Well I guess I was wrong because when we got there it looked so run down and dingy. We didn't want to swim because we were afraid we might catch something. Our room was in a back corner - it felt like we were in a cave or something. I was afraid to leave anything in the room for risk it would be stolen. I even bought disinfectant wipes for the bathroom lol. I'm usually not that picky - we stay at cheaper places because of our budget, but this one just felt horrible. I hated going back to it for the two nights we were there and we tried to stay away as much as we could lol.

The sheets, toilet, sink, & tub seemed clean. Considering the obvious age of the building, it was painted and decent. The inside of the bathroom door was greasy dirty and the carpet and tile was sticky with dirt. Some areas, the parking lot and linens were clean and cared for while the wall and floor were in need of deep cleaning, paint or replacement. I asked the owner counter attendant what time check out was, and he obliged me by pointing at a "11 AM Check-Out" sign. I wouldn't stay there again, but for arriving at 1 AM and leaving by 10 the next morning it was OK.

Ididn't like anything. It was dirty, smelt like paint, the pool was locked, and there was a cock rouch. The hotel was poor quality. It was dirty and smelt like paint. The indoor pool was locked and the worst of all a large bud ran across the bed.

The staff was horrible. The man who ran the front desk refused to give me clean towels because his housekeeper claimed that the first morning we were there we left the room in shambles. I cleaned the room myself before I left. It only needed to be vacuumed and the bed made.

We liked the indoor heated swimming pool. It was dirty and the stairs were a doozie. It had good location and an awesome swimming pool.

It had an available room for parents of hsu move in weekend. It was noisy, no AC or window screens, but was clean enough. We stayed here out of necessity and were satisfied with the 1-star rating which met our expectations and needs. It was a shelter which we needed and had a kitchen which we did not use. It was close to the university and that was important to us.

Convenient location, continental breakfast. Noisy street corner, not well insulated from noise. Good location, 45 minutes south of redwood national park, nice town plenty of restaurants, good choice for the budget minded traveler.

it was cheap! the manager was incredibly rude to us It's cheap! It's good for students/cheap travelers. Most of the people staying there seemed pretty young. The beds were OK and the room was clean. Nothing was really dirty, just dingy. The timer in the bathroom didn't work and the fan sounded like a chainsaw. There were no spare outlets except in the bathroom. I unplugged the TV to charge my cell phone. We didn't spend much time in the room which was good. It's decent enough as long as all you want to do there is sleep.

Staff was friendly. Very run down and old. No am breakfast. Internet did not work in some rooms. Very old and run down. No nice amenities. No breakfast. Hard to find. Staff was nice and helpful with finding a good fish restaurant.
