Near a nice park. Room was very dirty.

Here's what my husband and I didn't like about the Centralia Econo Lodge: -Four days after we left there (Aug 4), they charged us an extra * on our bank card (Aug 8). I called the hotel on Aug 11 when I realized they made the mistake, and they have not returned my call (as of Aug 14). Choice hotels will not do anything to refund my money. My bank account was overdrawn, and I have no money left to put gas in my car until pay day on Friday (Aug 17). -The room was very outdated. -The toilet made a loud noise every time it flushed. -There were very few channels on the cable TV. -There was a safe in every room, and they charge you a 1 deposit even if you don?t use it. I've stayed at many nice hotels (this one was not nice), and I've never had a safe in the room. It actually made me feel unsafe - perhaps they have problems with theft there. -The door to our room wouldn't shut properly. In order to lock it, it had to be open a crack all night long. -We killed a huge spider above our bed just before going to sleep. -The internet on the computer in the lobby didn't work. -There was only one person working at the counter, so it took a long time to check in and check out. -The pillows were thin. -The outdoor pool didn't open until 10:00. By then, I had showered, was dressed and was ready to leave that place. I love swimming and swim for exercise due to two prior broken ankles. We chose that hotel because it had a pool, and I would have appreciated the pool opening an hour or two earlier. **It is worth the drive to find a nice hotel elsewhere!

I can't think of anything. I made arrangements for a non smoking, they gave me a smoking room. The desk person was rude, and the smoke in the room was overwhelming I had a horrible experience.
