Friendly staff, easy location. Lights on a 10 minute timer, poor shower fixture and curtains.

We stayed in Bay Breese on 11/27/2008 to visit our granddaughter and family. The room was clean. We checked in about 5:30 PM. The front desk personnel were very nice and the room itself had a small refrigerator and a microwave. The ice machine was right around the corner. The only thing was the TV remote would not change the channels so we had to do that mannually, but the TV worked just fine.

Nice price, clean big rooms, big bathroom and nice shower head. Carpets outside on walkways was filthy extremely dirty makes the hotel look bad take it up just have the concrete. The carpet on the walkways are terrible, you need to take that up rooms were clean but the bed was too hard. Walls are thin, we were playing our radio low and the next room could hear it.

Great value for the Monterey area. The room had been recently remodeled and had granite counters in the bath area and tub/shower. A small refrigerator, coffee pot, microwave, & hair dryer was included. It was a quiet room, clean, and no traffic to hear. Usually in areas like Monterey there is alot of outside noise. Here it was quiet. The location was a little further away but you go in the morning to the Wharf and come back at night. It had easy access to the highway. Close to grocery, Cost Co etc. The staff was friendly and helpful. Plus, I connected my laptop, clicked the Wifi and found EconLodge easily; no username or password needed, and no interruptions. (No computer in lobby, so bring yours) Small breakfast in the lobby and the KING BED was GREAT. Lots of pillows too. Yes, I'll go again.

My hubby and I stayed here for a quick trip overnight. The front staff was friendly. Our room was clean and a good size. The bathroom was big and had a heat lamp. The bathroom also had a little fridge and the room included a microwave. For just a quick overnight trip in beautiful Monterey it will be fine. The room was priced well for what we got.

I liked that I could open the windows all the way. It smelled musty, there was too much noise from the street/freeway no pool. Went with parents, spouse, and toddler. Both rooms were clean but smelled funny. Breakfast was a fruit cereal mixed with coca puffs, white toast, and too strong tang, but we made due. Staff did not speak anything other than what was required for check in transaction. The hotel was close to the freeway, so it was easy to find but not well insolated from the noise. Overall, Monterey was an overpriced out of the way location that could have been done including the aquarium in San Francisco with better quality hotels and seafood.

"Friendly service upon arriving at 11:00 PM. However...Our ""nonsmoking"" room reeked of tobacco. I kept the bathroom vent (which included the bathroom light) on all night to try to get some of the smell out.I woke up in a sweat at 5:45 AM frantically trying to find how to control the room's temperature. I finally discovered that the knob labeled ""high, comfort zone, low"" controlled a baseboard radiator on the opposite side of the room. ""Comfort zone"" turned out to be not so comfy. The showerhead emitted a piercing squeal.I would never stay there again."

Within 10 minutes from the beach by car. Bad smelling rooms. Old, smelly, and bad beds. The two rooms with 2 queen size beds each, we had originally reserved, smelled so bad we and our daughter and her children could not stay in them. We ended up moving into less smelly rooms with 2 double beds each however, still with unpleasant odor. The beds were too small and uncomfortable for two adults to get a proper night sleep. This was an very unpleasant experience

Absolutely nothing good. Terrible service. The room I received was a smoking room, I do not smoke. The room was dirty and the continental breakfast was weak!

Good location. Very expensive room as compared to the overall ambience NA
