The neighborhood was scary. There was no air in the place, and it was scary to leave our windows open. We listened to dishes clanking all night. We definately did not want to eat the complimentary breakfast in the morning. The carpet felt gross under bare feet. The staff seemed friendly enough (tired), and were behind a plexy glass barrier. The room seemed built on so there were no windows in that they were not part of the bedroom. Beds were differnt levels, above a boarded box spring. We were afraid all night long... not a really restful sleep was had! It was so hot, that all the windows (without screens) were open so anyone could crawl into the hotel (the neighborhood people looked scarey enough to crawl through!) We NEVER left our room for fear to leave our things, or wander the neighborhood for a place to eat! We ordered pizza in! My husband was extremely disappointed in my choice to stay; I'm lucky I wasn't disowned.

If you are looking for an economical hotel without all the extras, this is a good hotel. I asked for a handicap access room, and it was ont the 1st floor, handicap accessable into hotel but the room itself was a step up so if a wheelchair had been needed it wouldn't have worked. Hotel does have wireless internet in the lobby area.

This was not a fancy hotel, but it was nice enough. It was clean, comfortable and quiet.

The room seemed much larger than most with a desk area and a table and two chairs. I liked the fact that the bathroom was separate from the vanity area . The location was very good -- it was really to downtown and there were restaurants very close.

The room was small, the bed although I was told was Queen size was a full size on a queen box spring, very high off the ground. The hotel also housed a Japenese Resturant, with the smell throughout the entire hotel. A 3 block walk to the closest eating establishment, and a six block walk to a shopping mall. It was located at a very busy intersection, and very noisey especially in the morning about 6:00 AM. The staff were very friendly and helpful and if all you are looking for is a cheap place to sleep, this is your place, don't exspect too much.

The Econo Inn, ANCHORAGE, was probably the dirtiest hotel I've ever stayed in. The Sheets were so dingy and smelled like cigarettes... even after they were changed. I had to lay the towels over the pillows! The hotel was in total disrepair; and I did not feel safe staying there. The only saving grace is that the staff was very friendly.

Anchorage room rates are insane. So, this place offers a room near downtown for not too much money. But you get what you pay for. It is on major traffic routes, and can be noisy. It is not a well decorated place, nor does it have amenities like high priced places. If that's what you want, there are plenty of options waiting to take your money. The bed was a bit uncomfortable, but the room was clean, and provided the necessities. One surprise is that the Japanese restaurant located in the same building is excellent.

The Econo Inn hotel is pretty basic. They intentionally provide very few muffins (and nothing else) with the result that the breakfast gets over in 15 minutes at 6 AM. If you ask them for more muffins the guy at the reception says that the guy who worked the night shift is to blame; that he didn't get enough muffins. What he doesn't tell you is that the 'night shift' guy is the stingy owner and is still somewhere around the hotel and that he still has a stock of muffins stacked up in his offce. What a scam! Also it doesn't seem like they change the towels or the sheets in the rooms. There is no exhaust fan in the bathroom. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

We did not stay any nights at the Econo Motel. It was a very run-down motel in a very bad part of town.

The location is good for walking to the downtown Anchorage area. The room was small and located next to the entrance and lobby so was very noisy for most of the night. It was a stopover on our way to Fairbanks so it was acceptable but not a a real positive experience.

The Econo Inn was a joke. The room was dirty and the vending room was awful!!! There were homeless people sleeping right outside of the hotel.

I did not have a car when I arrived. This hotel has a shuttle that arrived promptly and gave me a ride to the hotel. Once I saw the hotel I was a little nervous. The staff was nice. Thats the only good I can say about this place. When I entered the room I about killed over. The carpet was very dirty. The two chairs in the room were very dirty. The tv was even dirty. The room had a terrible odor and I had a cigarette burn on my bed spread in a non-smoking room. The room was discusting. I immediatly began calling other hotels in the area and luckily I was able to find a room at a very nice, comfortable, clean hotel. I didn't even stay more than a couple hours in the Econo Inn. The time spent in the room was in looking for another place to stay. I checked out right after I checked in and unfortunately I had to pay for a night at the hotel even though I didn't even stay there. I'm telling you! If you are used to comfort and clean, do not stay here. The only thing good was the staff was polite.

I'm going to say everything negative. They threw us of out of our room at 10'oclock pm, stating that they had an airport pickup at that time.

Personal Experience was OK since we are very accomodative persons. Facilities are poor and the cleanliness is even poorer. They could not extend 2-3 hours Check Out time because of their rules & Policy. We had to check out early and spend more time at the Anchorage Airport. Uncleanliness was reported but not much was done.

Our room was abnormally hot, stuffy and noisy. An air conditioner on wheels in the tiny room took up space, but was broken. A ceiling fan made noise, and was covered with dust. The room faced on a noisy main street where trucks made noise all night so that to open the window for air meant a fairly sleepless night. The lobby breakfast in the AM features a cup of powdered creamer and one of sugar, without even a spoon to measure it into one's coffee. The coffee was weak. The sole food item was doughnuts.

The Econo Inn was perfect for us Memorial Day weekend-the rooms were averaged size, and the price was certainly right! I'd read some bad reviews (and some okay ones), but I have to say our stay was very pleasant-and it was cheaper than driving the motorhome down at 9 miles a gallon and paying for the RV park-and we were able to toodle around more too!! It looks as if the bathrooms were recently redone. They were skimpy on the towels, and we stayed 2 nights-no maid service!!! No biggie-and we called and they immediately sent up more towels. It's nothing fancy, but I just needed a cheap place to crash with my wife and kids that we felt safe in-and the Econo Inn was perfect! The Japanese restaraunt attached was pretty good too!
