Make sure you get a room at the back and not the front as the noise on that road is ridiculous at night. The rooms are clean and very spacious. They are like chalets, so you have a front door and a window to a walkway/balcony that you have people passing by when they are leaving. No WiFI though, its connected through the phone, wasnt too pleased about that. Great Location, 2/3 minutes from the beach & the main St Kilda street. Nice eateries and internet facilities next door.

Right in the middle of great budget eating places, supermarkets etc.;my budget very strict. Room- basic, clean, not big-entirely adequate. Bathroom satisfyingly clean, too. Great advantage-being right in the middle of St Kilda's public transport-walk out of Reception, cross to the middle of the road-you're on the tram stop. Reception information - friendly and great. The guy on Reception said "Ask me anything about the area and how to get there--I'll probably know it." He did!-even printed travel directions when I needed to get to specific places in various suburbs, &had to use trams, trains and buses. One downside-no access to a microwave oven in the room-had to go downstairs to heat my Cocoa. One other downside was having to walk up two flights of stairs with my luggage. All the rooms are up-the entry just a doorway between shops. Asked for a room on the quiet side (away from Fitzroy St), and was very glad I did. A great place as a jumping-off point for everything else.

Very noisy (until 3am) street front location although convenient for cafes, beach....etc. Air conditioning was on but had no impact, on hot summer nights room was unbearably hot making sleep almost impossible.

The front of the Hotel is in Fitzroy street, a very trendy but noisy enviroment with drinking, singing and rowdy behaviour after sunset. Police cars are parked to keep order. The hotel itself, from the rooms facing the carpark are basic, quiet and comfortable, clean and have all you need including TV, fridge, coffee making facilities, DIYc offee, tea & milk supplied Linen is changed either once a week or if you pay $A25 extra. Heaters and aircondition works well. a VERY convenient location near St Kilda beach at a reasonable price. I would stay there again.

We found the family room and facilities clean and adequate. Staff were helpful and St Kilda beach is very good. Would stay there again

this place was hideous, the cleaners never cleaned my room, i had to take my own rubbish out and get own clean towels, very loud people next to me and very loud as i was facing main street. would recommend only as a hostel.

I booked two family rooms and stayed in both. The back of the hotel is brilliant. If you stay in the roadside hotel rooms you will find the trams and traffic very loud. This is not only peak hour traffic but also through the night. Below the noise spilling out from the nightlife is minimal.. We stayed at 63 Fitzroy Street. A couple of years stayed at Ackland st Easystay Apartments and the noise from the bars was a lot louder. Very handy to have the restaurants below. Topolinos great price for huge meals.

An excellent, reasonably priced & well located motel i would highly recommend.

I knew in advance that this budget=priced hotel room was likely to be noisy and being a fairly heavy sleeper, was not really bothered by it. Hotel is really conveniently located for nightlife etc around St Kilda. Also very easy to get into the city centre as trams stop right outside. Facilities fairly basic but would definitely stay there again as very good value for money.

The Bayside Motel is very basic, but if all you're looking for is a clean place to sleep at a reasonable price, then this fits the bill. It's very conveniently located close to the city with a tram stop right outside the door and there are plenty of places to eat and a Palace Cinema a five minute walk up the street. I'd stay there again, but I'd book earlier and specify a room not facing the street. It's a little bit noisy.

Great place to stay,as it is cheap and very close to everything (eg. city, beaches and more importantly, the MCG.

They didn't give us tea and coffee and never cleaned the room - even when we complained. Beds unmade and dirty towels left on floor every day. Didn't even empty bin properly, same bag still in bin and just tipped out!

The Motel was very convenient for our needs. It was clean and tidy. Heowver, on Friday and Saturday nights the people and traffic noise is a bit loud and disturbing.
