Eastwood HallI booked through late rooms and recieved an excellent rate for 3 of us staying up in Notts. The hotel and staff are great and actually look like they want to be there, they are helpful and always working hard to ensure a good saty.

Another great stay.Have stayed here before which is why I booked again. The hotel is very large and depending on where your room is it can be quite a walk from reception. The rooms are nice, functional and very clean.Had breakfast and dinner on both of the nights here and my personal experience is that the food here is great, both myself and my partner agreeing on this. There isn't a huge selection but, what is available is very good and resonably priced. This time we sampled the pool, which was lovelly and not very busy. It's a real bonus having this facility there and something that, for the price you can book this for, a fantastic addition. All in all, it was a great stay which we really enjoyed. I would definitely book Eastwood Hall again.

Turned out greatbooked it the morning of the day we arrived as dinner, bed and breakfast. the reception told us the restaurant had been booked for a private party and was closed. they upgraded our room and we ate in the games room. this was not a problem as there were two wedding receptions as well as a birthday party (very noisy and crowed). due to the restaurant problem the staff couldn't do enough for us, better stay than expected.

A long way to your room!Park first and don't get your luggage out of the car until you establish where your room is very carefully! We trailed thru reception, past bars & lounges down long corridors and up stairs (lift not working) before locating ours at the end of another long corridor. From here I could see our car a short distance away. I thought I would nip out thru a nearby door to get something else from the car but on my return I found out that I was locked out by keypad locks on all the outside doors and had to go round again! The hotel looks ideal for conferences & weddings etc and there was some sort of teenagers ball with a very loud disco laid on till mindnight. Teenage girls in ball gowns and jacked up on red bull are quite a sight! A loose floor tile in the bathroom nearly broke my toe during the night and drinks were very expensive. Overall it is very bland, modern and corperate. The receptionists were helpful and professional.

Average stayHad stayed previously and had a very good experience. However we were quite disappointed this time. The hotel seemed deserted of staff and all seemed to be a bit of an effort for them. We had to go to reception to get service in the bar as we'd waited for ages and there was no-one about. We wanted a snack meal on the Sunday evening, but the only option was a 2 or 3 course meal. Apparently we could have had a sandwich if we wanted, but no menu was available, the waiter said the chef could do us cheese and pickle or maybe ham - not exactly inspiring, so we had to go out and get something instead. Also on the first day we went to breakfast and again there was no one about, and when the staff finally emerged from the kitchen they seemed reluctant to serve us and sat us on a dirty table. We discovered afterwards that we'd got to breakfast late - 9am, but there was no information in our room to tell us when breakfast was served until. However the breakfast that we had was very good.We regularly stay in the area as we have family there, but am not sure would use Eastwood again, even though the value for money is good. I feel this time that the service we received over the 2 nights has let the hotel down.

Nice Place, pity about the breakfastEastwood Hall seems to be aimed at the business conference market. We are both retired so if we went during the week it would feel a bit like being back at work. However we stayed on Friday evening and it was fine - the room was comfortable, well decorated and clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The leisure facilities are excellent. Overall it was extremely good value. The only dissapointment was the fried food part of the breakfast. We came down at 9.30 and the breakfast was supposed to be available until 10.00. Howver the staff had already stopped topping up some of the food - there were no sausages or fried egg. Also the black pudding that was left seemed to have been in the chafing dish for a couple of hours - it was dried out and leathery. Fortunately there was plenty of other items,- fruit, cereals toast etc, so it was not too much of a loss.

Birthday breakThis was a stopover on our way home from Cornwall for a special birthday treat. The meal and the accommodation exceeded our expectations. Only therefor one night so did not try the spa so can't comment on that.

Still an excellent hotel despite some changesI stay here reasonably regularly .Lovely rooms and location and nice leisure suite even if the jacuzzi is out of action yet again.Shower in my room had disappointingly tepid water and not a great deal of it. Public areas were far too hot and since you walk a long way back to your room you really notice it.. (not very green in this age of energy conservation).

GoodRoom was a little cold and no cover on duvet which was off-putting. Couldn't have the bedside lamp on as it buzzed very loudly. I didn't complain about either at the time but I am sure the staff would have reoslved. Other than that, it was ideal for a night...clean, good location and couteous staff.

Shame about the bed & the walk!Eastwood Hall is a sprawling conference venue and as it is only on two floors, this means it can be a trek to the room! The hotel and room were lovely but I'm afraid the bed was dreadful. It felt like a water bed and had awful roll together. It's the reason I've marked down the scores. It may be a one off - I'm sure all rooms can't be that bad! The breakfast buffet was fantastic.

Conference centre with guest roomsUnexpectedly huge, but very well kept/managed, good facilities, welcoming staff and good breakfasts (didn't sample dinner). Not really a romantic break location, but very accessible from M1 and within easy reach of Derbyshire Dales/Chatsworth. Immediate surrounding area however rather disappointing.

Nice placeI took my partner to the hotel for his birthday. Upon arrival it is very impressive, nice grounds and a world away from the main road outside. Located in a lovely town called Eastwood about half an hour out of the centre of Nottingham, some nice places to eat in the town and nice little pubs. Nice and clean, lovely decor but my only complaint was the bedroom. On the website it shows a lovely modern room and the room we were given was a world away! Very dated and old fashioned with horrible green and red decore, felt like I was in a Christmas shop! Apart from the room, the staff were excellent and couldn't do enough for you, it was like being abroad when they are fussing around you all the time and unfortunately UK hotels seem to be lacking this type of hospitality. Breakfast was fabulous, lots of choice and an amazing breakfast! Last thing to mention is the spa, wonderful steam room and great pool, not a big Spa person but could have easily spent all day relaxing in the Jacuzzi! Would recommend this hotel to anyone, just make sure you ask for a modern room rather than being stuck upstairs in the 60's.
