We slept well, the bathroom was reasonably clean, the room has seen a lot of use, and had what must the noisiest A/C I've ever heard... The staff was friendly, and the mattress in the room was brand new, we slept very well, but walked around the room in our socks, as the floor has seen far better days. This hotel needs a thick coat of paint, new carpets and a deep cleaning...

We had plenty of space in our room.

Our stay at the Eastland Hotel was very enjoyable. The front desk service was wonderful and the valet parking service was excellent. The room we stayed in was huge and had a wonderful view. The rooftop lounge had excellent ambiance and the staff was very friendly. The downside to our stay was that the rooms were drafty and we had to keep the heat cranked up to about 80 degrees to make the room feel about 70 degrees. Also, getting to our room, which was on the first floor, should have been a breeze to get to. We felt like we were in a maze inside the hotel. Once we got used to the hotel, it didn't seem as bad. Other than that, the room was very clean and the hotel was beautiful. I would definitely stay at the Eastland again.

This hotel was an older hotel, but clean and within a 10-minute walking distance to the main part of downtown. However, the downside was that upon check in, we were told to park in the parking garage connected by the breezeway to the hotel and upon check-out our ticket would be validated. What they didn't tell us was that it was only validated for a discount. We still ended up paying 11 to park overnight. It would have been better had they said this upfront. All in all, it was still a good stay.

Plastic cups in bathrooom and no grab bar in shower. I booked one night through you and decided to check in a day earlier for two days total.Their rate was $10.00 less than what I paid you. That was odd.

Very nice hotel. Courteous staff. They gave us an upgrade for free and it was a nice room with a king bed. Rooftop lounge gave a great view of Portland.

Upon arriving at the front desk, the male staff member treated me like I was in a lower class than him. He was extremely rude. I wrote a letter of complaint. The lady checking in next to me even noticed and was astounded. The hotel itself is nice, but old. The bathrooms are small..but it is quaint nonetheless.

I have been in several 4-star hotels and this is not one of them. It is average and the surrounding area is run down. Not impressed with Portland. Would not return.

It was close to downtown. Parking was expensive - the rooms haven't been renovated in quite a while. This hotel has an old feel - and not necessarily in a good way. The rooms need renovation and the bedspreads and pillows were cheap. The location was good but we did not feel very safe walking around at night. Parking was very expensive ($16.50) with no in/out privileges. Overall, I probably wouldn't stay here again.

This was a great weekend getaway for me and my girlfriend. We were tired of the big city and this was just a great way to get some peace and quiet, and GREAT LOBSTER.I would definitely stay here again the food and service was excellent. The staff was always friendly. It was better then I expected.

Renovated old line hotel, can feel the history, feels like the old money stayed there once upon a time. Nice, not shabby. Great for people who like a little atmosphere.

The hotel is a nicely renovated historical hotel in downtown. Very safe, easy parking, and the rooms are nice. It is a older hotel so the layout of rooms are a little funny but nice and clean. Parking was easy which is important in Portland. The restaraunt/bar everyone talks about on the top of the hotel is very fun with great views. Wife and I would definetly stay here again.

This hotel was great for the money. Good location in the arts district of downtown, clean rooms, comfortable beds, and a very helpful staff! They even took us to the airport at no charge. I would highly recommend this hotel - only a 10 minute walk to the water! The only con was that you could hear water running in the rooms next door, but it is an older historic hotel, it didn't bother us.

The hotel was clean, comfortable and the restaurant was probably the best of the hotels in Portland. The bathroom was so small that you could hardly turn around. There was no ability for a handicapped person to enter through the main entrance.

Eastland Hotel could be a great hotel in Portland,ME, but the owners need to spend some money on it to fix it up. It needs work everywhere in the hotel. The room we stayed in was very small, the hallways need to be fixed up, the elevators need fixing up, the bar on the top floor needs fixing up, etc, etc. The top floor bar has a GREAT view, but the bar itself looks run down. The hotel is in a good location & it has a lot of history to it, but it just doesn't live up to what they tout it to be. It is a plain OLD hotel!

We had the best view of Casco Bay, and we did not expect that! We will go back the next time we are going to Portland.

The Easton Hotel is very conviently located in downtown Portland. It is an easy walk on a nice day to the waterfront and there are a number of great restaurants within a few blcks. The hotel is old yet in fairly good upkeep. The room sizes differ greatly depending on where you are. I've stayed at the Eastland about 6 times and never had a bad experience. And the bar on the top floor is pretty cool.
