When we first walked in, we were like "This is it?" The room was very small. When you pulled the very uncomfortable Murphy bed out of the wall, it got even smaller. The room itself looked like an IKEA showroom. Modern, but cheap. One of our biggest issues was that the rooms did not have air conditioning, since the hotel relies on the cooling effect from Lake Superior. When it's 80+ degrees out with no wind, your non-lake view room gets rather hot. Along with the ceiling fan that looked like it was about to fall out of the ceiling, opening the windows and balcony door helped a little. But then it got extremely loud. You could hear all of the commotion happening downtown, along with every car that was in a 1-mile radius. LOUD. Not that the hotel can help it, but the seagulls were annoying too. I guess if the rooms were air conditioned, the windows wouldn't need to be open. There was a kitchenette in our room, which was nice. But a toaster would have been a better choice than a blender since the room does not offer any type of breakfast. The TV was nice and there was a good selection of channels, even though there was no channel guide. The room and bathrooms were clean, thank god. Besides the location, it was the only saving grace of the hotel. The only way I would recommend this hotel to anyone, is if they reserved a larger room on the lake side.

This hotel is amazing. Very romantic. Our deck looked out onto Lake Superior. We watched the sunrise on the deck and kept warm by the fireplace in our room. The staff was friendly and helpful. We loved East Bay Suites and want to go back soon!

Great location on waterfront, and in the heart of the city. The East Bay Suites was perfect for our two day getaway to celebrate our anniversary. It is not only a great place for a romantic escape, but also very family friendly. It is situated right next to the shore of Lake Superior, so needless to say, the view is amazing! The hotel is very modern, with all new appliances in the rooms. Overall, very nice.

Beautiful hotel and location; right on the beach, and very nice staff. The room was beautiful, with a great kitchen area; stove, toaster oven, roomy fridge, sink and even plenty of glasses, plates, silverware, etc. Awesome to have Aveda bath items and unbleached cotton towels, etc. Completely smoke free and very pet friendly; nice staff, excellent view of Lake Superior. Step out the door and you're on the beach; within walking distance of pretty much everything in town.
