I decided to stay here as a weekend treat for my partner. I live in Perth and the Duxton was the only 5 star hotel I had not yet stayed in and now I wish I never did. This is the worst hotel I have stayed in EVER, out of all the hotels in all the countries I have stayed in, the Duxton has the WORST (I cannot emphasize that word enough) service ever. The employees could not care about its customers and nor can the management. After being shoved in the wrong room, I was told that was all that was available and there was nothing they could do. No Sorry, no compensation, nothing. My partner and I had to sleep in separate beds because we were given a twin room. I later found out other rooms were available... but that of course was too late. Its not just the service, the rooms lack 5 star facilities like safes, gowns, slippers, newspapers and the rooms are in desperate need of a makeover. The place is falling apart, the swimming pool and spa were closed because there was apparently a crack and a leak in the pool. To top it off, I wrote to the GM because I received zero feedback on a comment form I handed in (all other hotels have responded when I do) and guess what the response was.... the system obviously failed this time.... ha ha ha the whole hotel is a failure in my opinion.

Although the cost of staying at this hotel was quite high it was well worth the money. I was a bit worried about staying here as we have a small child but it was really wonderful. The staff were so nice and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. An example was when our room was serviced, when we came back to it the lady who had made the beds etc had set all my childs stuffed toys neatly up on the pillows all in a row and facing the right way. I felt that was a really thoughtful touch. The men on the valet service were so friendly and prompt, and the room service food was yum. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. I would definitely stay there again.

We left something behind and the staff followed up for us and could not have been more helpful.

Access to the hotel by car is difficult due to traffic access from the main road thru Perth city. Breakfast service is great.

Charge for interet access is outrageous, far in excess of much smaller and less expensive hotels.

The pool was in the shade in the afternoon and cold..the spa was out of order.

The only dissappointing aspect of the Hotel is the Grill Restaurant. It is very expensive, meals are very small, and very ordinary, compared to outside restaurants.

The overall stay was good. The only disappointment was that only one breakfast was delivered to the room when we had ordered two, then insisted on checking our room before bringing up the other! Not a good start to the day...especially on mothers day!

Duxton is a functional business hotel with all the required amenities. Of the available hotels in Perth, it is one of the better ones.

Nice hotel but nothing special. Good location, however badly let down by it's reception and some of the restaurant staff. They were niether friendly nor welcoming. My husband and I felt we were an intrusion, not guests to be valued. With such a wonderful location much more could be achieved in both presentation and staff training and supervision.

Beautiful facilities in the Club rooms, but try to get a riverside room as the view over perth city is very boring. Highly recommended.
