Nice Hotel, great bar/restraunt decor but the rooms need refurbishingThe public areas are very nice, the staff very friendy but at the rates this hotel charges some big investment is needed on the rooms. We stayed in a standard room and the bathroom was of poor quality when compared with similar hotels.

Hot Water OptionalThe first room we were provided with had no hot water...the hotels solution...use the Gym showers. When we disagreed, we were provided with a disabled access room, which was OK, however the disabled access shower was a 'wet room', including the carpets outside the room, as there was not appropriate drainage. Ended up using towels to stop water flooding the rest of the room.

Dunston hallHotel is in beautiful setting with long driveway and grand fountain before the hotel entrance. Interior of hotel itself is lovely however room looked a bit dated although had been upgraded free of charge to an exec room. Unfortunately the stay was marred by service in the brasserie. Wine took 20 minutes to arrive then steak followed an hour later accompanied with cremated vegetables and garlic bread which obviously hadnt been heated in the microwave for long enough! Despite the poor quality of the food nothing was knocked off the bill! Would recommend hotel itself, but just dont eat there!!

A good hotelA relaxing hotel. We were put into a family room which was right on the other side of the building so a bit of a trek to get to the reception.The spa area is very good as is the gym. Food is also to a high standard but someone needs to teach the chef how to boil an egg, we ordered it three times and it came back hard every-time.

Escaped from StaffordshireWe had a thoroughly enjoyable two night break at the De Verre Dunstan Hall. The hotel was a wonderful, imposing builiding steeped in character but having all the benefits of modern day living. The pool, sauna, steam rooms were fine - though there was some work being done on the side of the pool which prevented you from getting out at all the exit steps of the pool. The jacuzzi was monopolised so unfortunately we didn't get in there!La Fontaine was a lovely resturant with excellent, attentive staff. The food was brilliant.The only slight negative comment I have is to do with the lay out of the hotel. We stayed in room 632 which I assume is part of the newer building. So, we ended up going downstairs and along some corridoors to the go back up lots of stairs in the newer part of the building, it all seemed very disjointed. Although this isn't reflected in the aesthetics of the building, it did seem a little bizarre. I'm not keen on small lifts so we walked up and down the stairs each time. If we were older this would have definitely been a bit of a hike! Not sure how my in laws would manage.A brilliant stay, however, we would definitly return sooner rather than later!

Lovely situation, good pool but very small changing areas. Ate in Brasserie and felt very squashed in as tables are very close to each other, also, meat in Carvery extremely dried up even though it was only 8pm. Staff very friendly and helpful.

BedroomIt would b better if the beds were kingsize, they offer a much better nights sleep and look so much more inviting to the eye when you walk in.

delightful dunstonthis is an excellent hotel with great leisure facilities and whilst it would ordinarily be expensive, for the price i paid online i would suggest it was great value.it is a beautiful building in a lovely setting and offers a relaxing stay with really good pool and gym that are free for guests, the hotel is a short drive from norwich city centre and thoroughly recommended.

goodWe have stayed at the Dunston Hall before. This time was just as good, with helpful staff and wonderful meals.Unfortunately we had a bad experience on our 2nd night as above our room there were unsupervised children. I had to telephone down to reception at midnight to ask them to rectify this situation. We received a £20 discount for the inconvenience but this didn't aid our lack of sleep as the children above were up by 6am!

Darkness of roomWe knew that our room would not be in the high ranking accommodation but being on the 3rd floor would have expected a little more light into the room - or electric light in the room for reading.

Dunston HallTwo day break with my wife, great price, £89.99 for Dinner, Bed and Breakfast. Lovely setting. La Fontaine restaurant, first class food and great service. Reception even found us a restaurant in Norwich for the second night.i would definately stay here again but I would bring my clubs next time rather than my wife!

We like Dunston Hall as we have visited a few times. Staff are always helpful and friendly and overall food is of good quality. Only difficulty we had this time is that the extractor in our bathroom did not work. Golf shop and facilities good and health club good if a bit busy the nights we stayed. Some relaxing treatments available too although a little pricey.We like the area and would stay again.

Although we appreciate that we were given a special deal for the room we would have been disappointed if we had paid any more for it. The room was dated, paint was flaking, the bath panel was rotten. Small details that betray a lack of investment over the years. The pool and other leisure facilities were nice but again could do with some modernisation. The staff were generally helpful if not a little abrupt at times. We were asked if we wanted a newspaper each morning but at the same time were not advised that they provide a complimentary copy of The Indpendent every day. The La Fontaine restaurant was very nice and the service from the staff very good. The Brasserie on the other hand we found to have an overly complicated menu (mixture of a la carte and carvery). Also the vegetarian options were limited. Unfortunately for a 4 star hotel we were disappointed although we expect that if we had been in the more deluxe wing our expeirience may have been different. We would not choose to stay there again.
