This hotel has got to have some of the nicest and friendliest staff in this country. The hotel was warm, welcoming and nicely decorated but what made this stand out from most 5 star hotels is the personal treatment. In addition the food is supurb quality and not over the top in price. It is one hotel i will definatley revisit without hesitation.

An excellent hotel. The rooms were of the highest quality and the gardens and views were beautiful. A very relaxing away from it all hotel where you could completely chill out and unwind. A highly recommender hotel for anyone. We will definetely be going back .

Hotel was very nice and in a wonderful garden setting. We did have an issue with moths and flying insects as none of the windows have screens (seems to be an issue all over Scotland). Since windows needed to be open, this allowed flying insects and spiders to come into the room. Not a large problem, however one that could be easily resolved with screens. Regarding value - I am from Canada so 100 Pound per night seems high for the type of room and breakfast, never mind the asking price of 225 pounds. Just a point of perspective - everyone I talk to told me I got a great deal for only 100 Pounds. Hotel is family friendly. The room had a pull out couch and they had already placed a cot in the room for my two daughters. They also had a an ipod player available which was a nice touch. Hotel is well located within 5 minutes of Inverness and 15 minutes of the Loch Ness Museums.

The staff were all friendly, helpful and attentive. Our room which was a junior suite was comfortable and spacious with a nice view over the garden. The meals were excellent. As the weather was good we took advantage of the new the outdoor patio area which had lovely views.

Although the hotel itself is very nice, I would find it difficult to recommend. The room itself was beautiful and spacious. We both had a very good nights sleep thanks to a comfortable bed and good thick curtains. The cleanliness of the room and the quality of everything in it were top notch. However, service in the restaurant was appalling. We only ate there at breakfast, not for dinner, but service at breakfast was extremely slow. The wait staff were not only rude and inattentive but generally inefficient, unable to do more than one simple task at a time. For a restaurant with a menu as expensive as theirs you would expect far better service. The reception staff on checkout time tried to charge us more than double the agreed rate booked on Late Rooms (500 pounds instead on 200 pounds) though this was rectified with a minimum of fuss. The hotel staff who extended the warmest welcome were the cleaners. To them we are grateful.

On arrival we discovered that the hotel had the builders in! Roofer's, painters and groundworkers. The internal painting was the biggest problem (paint fumes everywhere). It would have helped to know about these works prior to arrival this is the reason for marking down customer service to a 3. (would probably have given a 5 under normal conditions.. That said the works should imrove the hotels appearance considerably for future guests.
