It was nice; I wouldn't say it was great. My son got married and it was a beautiful wedding. I was disappointed in the beach area so I stayed by the pool the whole week. The rooms were a bit smelly and somewhat clean. They probaly could be updated a bit. The pool area was really nice. The resturants were o.k. There was some wait staff that did not know any English at all. At times that was very fustrating.

See below. I asked the concierge Margarita to make reservations for a restaurant on site for us. She stated it was not a problem. When we got the restaurant the hostess stated she did not have reservations for us after making us wait for 20 min. When we called the concierge desk the person their stated he could not help us because Margaret had made the reservations. We requested to speak to a Manager but no one was available. We ended up finding a restaurant on our own. It was our last night their it ruined our whole experience.

Yes it is true that the vendors were extremely annoying and at times rude on the resort. The vendors should be left outside of the premises. Food wasn't good. Food was recycled night after night at the World Cafe(Ive been in the Food Industry for most of my adult life, so I know)Food was reheated, veggies weren't fresh, kitchen staff were inappropriate. Best food that I recommend are the cheeseburgers with fries that you can request until 3am..they were delicious. One more thing, the dj at the disco didn't play music to keep the crowd going. Only cheap liquor available. Door to my room was very diffucult to close/open, seemed to be off the hinges a little, room had musty smell, leak in room for a few days but was immediatley repaired when we asked, soap in room never replaced, but always had fresh towels & clean room.

Traveled with 9 people to Punta Cana with minimal expectations. Had a vacation to remember at Dreams. Everything was absolutely great. Food, beaches pool, restaurants, and especially the staff.Always felt safe no matter what time it was. We are all planning to return with even more people next year, The pool was the icing on the cake. karen M from CT.

I have stayed at Dreams before, in other locations. The hotel was great until a tropical sorm hit and thbe lobby was not sturdy enough to handle it. The celing got waterlogged and 20 ft pieces of sheetrock can crashing down. The lights the beams everything. When I complained they d=sdaid that it was envirnmental and there was nothing that they could do for us. Isn't it a tropical climate, shouldn't they be able to handle a tropical storm? What happens if a hurricane hit?? The staff is great and I know that it says that gratuities are included but the staff works hard and desrves a tip. even a few bucks for dinner is good.

it took a while for them to take us to our resort they had to drop off others at other resorts took a little more than a hour. you have to do the speed boat excrusion it was great and also the horse back ride on the beach well worth the price. you do not have to exchange your money in peso because they accept american money every where you do. the beach was not what i expected but than again its on the atlantic side of the ocean. pool was not bad food was not bad either. the dinner on the beach is well worth the extra money. the rooms there get really humid so if u bring food and leave it in the room most likely it will melt even with the ac on full blast. room service was nice so order up anything u want if u are not full from the food they serve. the portions they serve is smaller than regular resturants here in the us. do not buy anything from those people the resort lets them sell their stuff. they over price everything. overall the stay was not too bad. if i was to come back here? i dont think i will i rather try another resort and see what its like there. i always like to top my last vacation with a better one.

I recently stayed at Dreams Punbta Cana. Thiss is not our first time staying at a Dreams, we always stay at one because we love the resorts so much. This vacaction was great until the lobby celing fell while my husband and I were sitting on the couches. 20 ft pieces of sheetrock came crashing down about 16 feet. Could have really been hurt. Thre funny thing is is that no one said anything about it. They said it was enviromrntal, yes there was a tropical storm, but it was mild. What happens when a hurricane hits?? The floor on the level above us was fine, just the ceiling below crashed down. On a good note the staff is excellant, everyone is friendly. They make you feel quite welcome. The food is excellant, and the hotel is very clean. My only advice is if there is rain STAY IN YOUR ROOM!!

My husband & I returned from Dreams Punta Cana this past Saturday, 12/6/08. First of all, the hour & 10 minute ride to the hotel was very informative. Without this bus ride, we would have never seen the "real" country. The bus was comfortably air conditioned & roomy. Now the Dreams Resort - We loved it! The rooms were smaller than normal resort rooms, but very clean. Our room did have a few tiny, tiny ants around the bathroom sink, but they did not cause a problem. We've had these tiny ants in some of the best hotels in the warm weather states. The resort was beautiful. The pool was fantastic. We are not beach people, but the beach looked very nice. I was told you had to swim off to one side because of rocks in the water, but we didn't sit on the beach at all. The resort is very kid friendly with tons of things for little ones & teenagers. We are already thinking of taking our children & grandchildren next year. The Dominican people working there were very friendly & willing to go out of their way for you. Not knowing Spanish didn't cause us any problems. It's a wonderful, beautiful resort with lots to do. We can't wait to go back. And no, we didn't see one tarantula!!!!

I Love Dreams Resorts. I have stayed at many other locations. This location however was great until a tropical storm hit, and the lobby was not sturdy enough to handle it. The celing (sheetrock) and the lights and the beams can crashing down and almost hit us. The sheetrock can down in 20 Ft chunks. When I complained they told me it was environmental. This is a tropical area why can you not handle a tropical storm? What happens when a hurricane hits? The staff is excellent and the hotel is beautiful. If a storm hits STAY IN YOUR ROOM!! Also I kow that it says that gratuities are included, but the staff does work really hard and deserves a tip, especiaaly if they are very good. Even a few bucks at dinner as a thnk you.

We had a good time at the hotel. The meals were good and overall the staff was very attentive. The casino was very small and the staff in there was very rude for whatever reason. The worst thing however was the travel that was purchased through Orbitz on CocoTours. They made you go to a "meeting" the morning after you arrived at 9:30. So we had to get up specifically for this. The meeting was to schedule your return to the airport but actually it was to sell you excursions. I had to fight w/ the guy to get a return trip time. Finally I did and I had to go down and find him the day before our departure and "finalize" the time. Then we were told the van was supposed to leave 4 hours and 10 minutes before our flight and to be waiting in the lobby 15 minutes before that. Needless to say the van was 15 minutes late plus we had about 2:30 min waiting in the airport. The guy who handled this was not concerned at all with my dissapointment of the arrangement and had a "too bad" attitude. The rest of the staff was great and very hard working. The beach is a little dissapointing because the water is not as clear as other carribean places.

We had a fantastic time at Dreams in Punta Cana. The staff was wonderful and a lot of fun. The pool is amazing! Although the hotel is rated 4 stars, I would put it at 3 stars. Our first room was musty smelling, but the front desk was extremely quick to move us to another room, which didnt have the musty smell. Some parts of the hotel need some sprucing up, but unless you are a real hotel snob, these things wont bother you. I have been known to be a hotel snob, changing hotels at times. I found nothing wrong with Dreams. We were very comfortable and enjoyed every minute. We found the food to be very good considering it was all-inclusive. Granted the steak or seafood you get isn't what you would get in the US, but I didnt feel the need to go to a restaurant off the property to get a decent meal (like I did in Cancun)! The shows that the staff puts on are extremely good. They always have something going on to keep you entertained. The Casino is very small, but we still went everynight and didnt lose much! All in all, we were very pleased. We had a great time and enjoyed ourselves very much. We are hoping to return next year, and will stay at Dreams again.

We were in the 'best' room they had. Constantly hot 75-78 degrees. Mini bar fridge broken. Our "upgraded premium" mini bar consisted of 4 sodas, 2 waters and 2 local beers. That's IT. 90 degree heat all day, coming back to a hot room with nothing cold to drink was awful. All of the restaurants were just as hot inside. There was literally no where to go to get cool. I would say the 'gift' shop (more like a gross dollar store) had the best air conditioning. Don't expect to shop for any nice gifts, that's ALL there is. The food. HORRIBLE. We struggled all week to find stuff to eat for all of our meals.Sierra Chicken from the Sea Side Grill. '2 grilled chicken breasts topped with tomato'. Okay. Well it was ONE BOILED chicken breast with stewed tomatos dumped on top. It was un-edible. They say that their main lobby bar has Heineken, Corona, Bud, Bud light. NO, they do not. They moped around to find my husband ONE Budweiser after he asked for each of the others. They push their local beer and seem agitated if you ask for another. If you're like me and hate their "Presidente" beer, you're stuck with mixed drinks all day.Order doubles. The drinks are so watered down, it will take you 20 drinks to catch a buzz. Top shelf stuff is actually filled up by the cheap stuff. The shower. Lava hot, ice cold, back and forth. It was horrible.Stopped by guards if you want to go to the beach after 6pm. They said you WILL be mugged. Don't forget anything in your room, you'll have to walk 300 yards to get back to get it. Luggage pick up. Never showed, had to drag it 300 yards ourselves in the heat.

The ride from the airport is exciting to say the least, but once there the staff is friendly and provide very good service and make the ride worthwhile. The pool is great and though the ocean is a bit rocky it is a beautiful location, The rooms have private balconies and are great for coffee or other beverage any time. Overall very nice, large area that is comfortable and enjoyable.

I just stayed at the Dreams punta cana resort from oct19-oct 26. The stay was okay however I did get married there On Oct 23 and had 30 people stay at the hotel also. First of all our room was not cleaned when we arrived to the room. We had to wait 45min for it to be finished. Our bags did not arrive to the room until an hour and a half later. The air condition hardly worked in the room and it was almost as hot as outside. The bathroom every day had hundreds of ants crawling around. All over our toiletries. towels, ylu name it there were ants- BAD. The hotel is clean but a little run down compared to other hotels I have stayed at like the Iberostars in Punta Cana & Mayan Riveria. The maid service was great they did a wonderful job of cleaning the room and also do a turn down service every night. As far as the wedding it went okay but we never had rehearsal to let us know where to stand or where to go so it looked bad when the bridal party is standing there not knowing what to do next. I would not recommend having a wedding there for the fact that it is very impersonal. The do weddings like a production line and the actual ceremony is only about 10 mins long. It is also in Spanish so you have no idea what the judge is saying until the wedding coordinator translates and she don't speak very good english. As far as the staff and service they seem very short staffed and even when the pool waitress' wait on you them seem put out like they don't want to be there. Very slow service everywhere!!
