This hotel has a great location, right on the beach, walking distance to shops, restaurants, and everything else but it is not very clean. It is not cheap to stay there, and for that price you should be able to get much cleaner rooms and better maintenance.

It was on the beach. The only good thing about it was the beach location.

We stayed at the Surfcomber approx 10 years ago and although it has changed hands since then it is still a fantastic hotel. The location is perfect as it is 5 min walk to Ocean Drive and practically across from Lincoln Road (the Delano is next door) without the expensive room rates of other hotels. The art deco look of the hotel is stunning, especially the courtyard and pool area, the rooms are very clean and well furnished and beds are so comfortable. The best thing is the free cookie on arrival, best I've ever tasted! We wouldn't stay anywhere else on South Beach

Im just tired of being ripped off on hotels these days. I just expect what ever hotel Im staying at in any major city to max out my credit card for fraudulent fees the day after I check out. I just got ripped off at this hotel last week now, its really nothing new for any hotel in south beach but I didnt expect it to come from a hilton family hotel, well maybe I had a slight sinking feeling about it. They added on a $* per night charge to my room for "smoking" that was a 100% lie. Could not be further from the truth actually as both my wife and I have a severe smoke allergy that is medically documented. BUT, there the big charge is right on my credit card. I played a little phone tag with a couple people not interested in my problem with corporate and hotel management. No solution yet. I will have to play the credit card dispute game and hope for the best. Another lost customer.

I pick this hotel because of the location and name associated with this Hotel. I stayed at the Doubletree on Sunny Isle last year and that was nice. This hotel was is misleading. The rooms are very small. The bed takes up most of the room and you do not have much room to move around. I thought I would be getting a view of the beach but my view was of the building next door. No room has a view of the beach. The curtain do not close all the way so the person in the building next door could look in our room. I had to hang up a cover to give us some privacy. We I got there they give me a room that had not be clean. I had to wait 5 hours before I could get a clean room. My experience at this DoubleTree was not great. Plus parking is 42 a night.

Excellent location and facilities! Nothing. You couldn't ask for a better location and it was very clean. No refrigerator, but that was ok.

This was my second time staying at the Surfcomber. Both times I went with a group of girlfriends and we had a fantastic time. Fun restaurants and nightlife are within walking distance. Staff is helpful and laid-back and rooms are clean and bigger in size compared to most Miami hotels. You are welcomed with freshly baked chocolate chip cookies upon check in. Don't be afraid to ask for more!!

The location is very good! The view from the room is very bad.

I read reviews that complained of small rooms. The rooms were small, but very nice quality... and who would waste much vacation time in their room anyway? Staff was friendly and very accomodating. On the boardwalk and nice pool area.

Free cookies. Bad window view. Free cookies are very good! But bad window view.

Small but nice room for the money, steps from the beach and pool. Slow service but friendly. A great value in South Beach for sure.

The outside pool area was nice. The broken lounge chairs. The dumpster view. The plaster over cracks. The famous cookies at the hotel were hard as a rock and that was the first disappointment that I got. The second was the view from the window looked out to a dumpster filled with trash. I stayed there two times in a week and the second stay was just one floor above the other and again had a dumpster view. The breakfast buffet was the third disappointment due to the coffee, the selection and the value to price.

It cost us 25% of the room cost to valet park our car. When dining at the restaurant, expec that the tip will automatically added to check. Internet access is extra too.

Beautiful pool with lots of space and chairs. Easy access to the beach. Rooms were clean. No spa and major construction to the building next door.

The bed was nice and plush. There was not view at all but an gutted building - all rooms looked onto another building although property was on ocean

Good location. Thin wall. The hotel is in a good location, staff was friendly. The only problem we had was the walls were thin and you could hear noise in rooms next to you.

"When I arrive, the room I was given had a view of an unfinished pool with rusty water. When I was changed to another room. It had jumping flies. I finally ended up in a room that was smaller. Through it all the manager and staff were very nice and accomodating. I like the location of the hotel. "
