The hotel was clean and nice the only two complaints I have is that it was kind of expense for the location the beach is a mile away and the last night I was there the alarm went off and we had to get out of the hotel at 6 in the morning with my kids and baby, then they told us some one pulled the alarm. Other than that I enjoyed my stay.

Beds & linens quality were superb! One womanat front desk wasrude. No spaat pool. Most of the staff was friendly with the exception of one. Would not let me check in early despite not being full. Room wasclean & comfortable. Bathroom below par, musty & sound traveled from room next door, no fan. Windows dirty/spotted. Beds & linens superb. TV old & sound was terrible. No spa in pool.

I came to this hotel hoping to have a good time with my boyfriend because we havn't seen each other in a month and yet our expectations were crushed. We first bought a room with one king bed but was disappointed when told they weren't ready and got stuck with 2 double beds. Immediately the room seemed unsanitary and the toilet was broken. We called the front desk to request for a room change but didn't hear from them after that until that night while I was taking a shower there was banging on the door by maintenence yelling "HEY!" when we opened it he had an attitude saying that our bathtub was causing leaks two floors down and that he had to fix it. It only took a couple of minutes so we just got over it. The next day we asked to get our room cleaned but was only cleaned halfway. There was still a mess and the carpet was wet. There was also stains on the sheets. The following day we get another knock from maintenence telling us that the leak wasn't fixed and that our rooms will have to be changed. We were waiting and waiting for them and were in a rush because of dinner reservations so we called the front desk and a women with a nasty attitude telling us it is not her problem just put the icing on the cake. If they just changed our rooms from the beginning we wouldn't be in this horrid mess and have had to pack everything back up just to change a room for one more night. We would've changed hotels if this wasn't prepaid. I hope that others will listen to my advice on NOT staying at this hotel ever!

My boyfriend and I stayed there on our anniversy. We loved it. The bed was comfortable, Everything was clean, and customer service was very nice. We loved how our dog, who is like a child to us, was just as welcome as we were. He loved it. We will most definitly return.

Enjoyed the hotel; but didn't care for the fee for the wireless internet. Most places these days will give you internet for free.

Virginia Beach is a wonderful place to vacation but this hotel is about 8 blocks from the boardwalk. There is a shuttle that will take you to the boardwalk every 30 minutes.

Staff was friendly and helpful at check-in. Had a lot of trouble getting our key to work, but maintenance fixed it. Room could have been updated, I thought it had a fridge and microwave - guess was mistaken 'cause there wasn't either. Bed slept great and room was clean. However, wallpapaer was peeling in bathroom, there was a very noticable hole in the ceilinng where the fire sprinkler was located and a noticable hole in the wall where the fire alarm was located, had a little trouble with the shower, hard to operate. Elevators were extremely slow.

Our Double Tree Hotel Room was a bit of a dissapointment. Areas of the bathroom wall were mildewed and the wall paper was coming away. The curtains were falling down and a bedside lampshade had a hole burned right thru it! Beds were comfortable and sheets were clean.

It wasOK just had a bad experience. broke AC with carpet wet and smell, dog bone in bed, dirty tub. It as OK. didn't have a good first night and had to get moved to another motel at 4:00 am. AC was broken and water on the carpet so it smelled bad in the room. The shower was dirty with used bar of soap in tub. A dog bone in the bed that had been chewed so the sheets wasn't changed. And the slide key wouldn't open the door.

My friends and I stayed here for a weekend getaway. Overall the hotel was nice with a beautiful lobby. Check-in was quick and courteous and the room was very clean with the exception of a weird smell in the room after it was cleaned. Its located 6 blocks from the beach which was ok because it was away from the loud crowds. The hotel rate was a good deal and we would definitely stay again.

The Doubletree at Virginia Beach was a comfortable hotel. The bed was very comfortable. They did not have a regulare king room but tried to meet our needs by giving us a handicapped room. The location was near my visiting site and right off of our main road.

Hotel was about 3/4 of a mile from the beach. Hotel provides shuttle which is convenient, yet there are many hotels on the beach for the same price that are more convenient. They didn't have the famous "cookies" for us when we checked it; we got a raincheck coupon for one and we got it later; it was burnt. Staff was very friendly, however, our room was not cleaned once during the three nights we were there. We had the "do not disturb" sign up until 10:30am; we left and came back at 3pm both afternoons and the room was not cleaned. There was a urine smell coming from the bathroom (before we even used it), and when we arrived in the room, there was no comforter on the bed. The pool was nice, indoor and about 5 feet deep. There is also a gameroom with a few arcades, air hockey, and foozball. The restaurant was very overpriced; $4 for a bagel and $11 for an omelete. There is a McDonalds 1/2 a block away, so save your money on that stuff. There is a little pub called Crocs about 1 block away that is OK, but you gotta walk down to the beach if you want selection. Overall, it would be more convenient to stay on Atlantic Avenue at Days Inn for the same price, or at the Holiday Inn for a little more. This turned me off to DoubleTree for a while.

We liked the free beach shuttle. Room needs to be updated and vacuumed much better. The Double tree hotel Virginia beach in Virginia beach,VA is a nice hotel for a short stay (1-2 days). The restaurant serves good food, the hotel pool is clean (but crowded), and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. However, the hotel is in desperate need for a remodel and the room we stayed in had an odd smell to it. The location is not ideal if you want to visit the beach (especially if you have small children). The shuttle to and from the beach is often overcrowded.

"This is a great hotel, in the perfect location. It's about a 8 block walk to the beach, but the hotel also provides a shuttle if you prefer not to walk. Definetly would stay here again."
