This hotel is under renovation, which didnt bother me. The rooms were a bit more dingy than I have come to expect from the typical hilton family of hotels, but nothing noteworthy. The plumbing was also a bit visibly rusted, but a) That doesnt really bug me and B) I assume they will fix that as they renovate. What bothered me was the fact that their parking lot (1/2 block off the freeway is completely unsafe. My car was broken into while parked DIRECTLY in front of the front door, literally 2 cars from the main entrance. Only the tinting stopped the person from stealing my belongings. When I reported the crime, I was referred to their insurance. I spent 2 weeks trying to get paid back for my window $200, and was given a TON of runaround (they could have just said - we aint paying you go away, instead of wasting my time). This hotel offers WAAAAY too much drama for the value it provides, and management seemed much more interested in getting me off the phone by saying whatever it took than actually resolving the situation. If there is another hotel within 30$ a night, stay there instead, especially if you are a single lady.

Location, location, location -- we were in town for a UT football game, and the access to the stadium, tailgates, etc. was perfect. Easy parking at the property, short walk to the campus. However, the hotel is currently undergoing some much needed renovation - lobby and rooms are just stale. Right now, the check-in lobby is part of the bar, in a dimly lit, dirty area. The hotel needs a complete overhaul, and maybe after that, it will be worth the money to stay there.

We were LIED to by the staff prior to our stay about renovations. We were told in no uncertain terms all work had been completed. However, after getting us not to change our HONEYMOON plans, there was filthy hallways, dirty elevators, and workman noise for our 3 day 2 night Honeymoon stay. There was not even a soda machine or working Ice Machine on our floor. Is it not fraud to make false statements to get another's money ???? We were very disappointed !!!

This hotel is a great place to stay if you want close proximity to Downtown Austin. The staff is friendly even giving us extra cookies upon request!!! The beds are some of the most comfortable I have ever had the pleasure of sleeping. The rooms were clean and quiet. This is an A+ place to stay in the Austin area. I definitely will be returning when the need arises.

"When we got to the room, there was no room service menu. We called down to the front desk, they said they couldn't send one up because they didn't have one. They recommended talking to the restaurant. So we talked with the restaurant, and they said they couldn't send one up, but that we could come down to the restaurant to get a menu (which negates the point of room service). When we went down to the restaurant, there was only a snack bar."

The hotel is under repair. The bar in the lobby closed early and the rest was never open when we were hungry.

"I stayed at this hotel for business in the downtown Austin area, recommended by a friend. Great staff, very clean rooms, high-speed internet was fast. Deli style breakfast was very good. Across from UT. Excellent hotel and staff."

Overall -- great hotel and staff. Only concern was that the a/c in our room was leaking and the carpet was wet around it. Not a big concern, just something that I would have preferred to have been taken care of prior to check-in. Otherwise...wonderful hotel for the price.

The hotel was next door to a cemetery. I had to make sure to ask not to get a room overlooking the cemetery. Otherwise the hotel was pretty average.
