The actual stay at the hotel was fine, however an error was made and they billed the wrong Visa check card for the second night. Instead of admitting their error, they made excuses, changed their story and put my checking account into a negative balance for days. Once they realized they billed the wrong card, they need to cancel the transaction, but instead, they gave me a refund that will take 3-5 business days to process leaving me with no money. They were extremely defensive and kept interrupting me. Very poor customer service. I had to file a complaint against them with the Hilton corporation and the situation has still not been resolved. What really gets me is that when the problem first arose, they discharged the pending transactions on my card, but did not tell me that the actual charge would still go through. If that transaction had been cancelled, the problem would have never escalated into the huge hassle for me it has. After all of this, management has the audacity to have one of their people call me and tell me that they did nothing wrong and I would not be receiving any compensation. That is just not right! I am amazed that the general staff can have such good customer service skills when their management has such poor ones. I hate to give it such a poor rating, considering how nice most of the staff were, but because of accounting and management, it ruined my whole experience. Also, I think people need to know how you are treated when something goes wrong.

it seems like everytime we book through orbitz or even another, we get an inferior room than if we booked directly with the hotel; always next to the air conditioning units and more often than not, on a floor that used to be the smoking floor, simply disgusting in smell, which gave us both headaches, both nights. we were also told that parking would be validated by the hotel for parking across the way, when in actuality we paid $18 nightly.

Large room, friendly staff, great location. The 3rd and 4th level transition from parkage - run down looking.

I expected more from a Hilton. No wireless internet--needed to use their business center, if a computer was open. The room's fire alarm and air duct both where hanging from the ceiling. The staff were O.K. The pool was outside, no hot tub, paying for parking. It was all no big deal. I did get a good price on the room.

We were disappointed that the charge for parking was not revealed when we made the original reservation. We assumed that when you said all fees were covered in the reservation that that meant all fees.

The cookies. Roomvery small. Very small queen bed just fit no room to move no windows to get fresh air, no bathtub only a small shower a type of room you would find at a 1 or 2 star such as travelogue but I've seen better than this room at travelogue or Red Roof.

The room was ackwardly shaped. Opening the door you were faced with a wall which interferred with entry into the room or wheeling a suitcase in. The first day there, we were out all day and returned after 4:00 p.m. and our room still had not been made up. For the price the room was adequate.

Great location for downtown Portland. It's not central to downtown but there's a light-rail station right across the street that can take you anywhere in downtown. This light-rail station is within Fareless Square and so it is free to ride! The hotel itself was clean and comfortable although we found our room to be a little small. The staff was very friendly and helpful and warm cookies were available at the front desk!

The Doubletree was an excellent location for my stay during a Science Teacher's convention. I could hop onto public transportation and be downtown or at the convention center in just minutes. The room and service at the hotel was excellent. I needed a car and the bellhop had one within minutes delivered to the door.

This is our second time staying at this hotel. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. The room is very clean and feels comfortable. Our only complaint is that the bar does not stay open past midnight. Both times we stayed here we at functions that lasted until 11pm. By the time we returned to the hotel they were not serving food and getting ready to close the bar.
