The price was good; all the staff were curious and knowledgeable. The room was very clean and I must say the king bed and pillows were some of the best I have ever had in a hotel. Very convenient to downtown attraction. Short walk or cab ride made the need to rent a car unnecessary. Great stay Double Tree!! Oh, also the cookies were wonderful.....

I have stayed in some nice hotels in downtown Chicago and this is not one of them! The staff was very amicable and somewhat accommodating; however, I had to ask several times for a refrigerator to be placed in my room. Yes, there is a charge unless you tell the staff that it?s for your medicine. Otherwise, you will have to contend with the mini bar in your room and if you so much as lift for a split second a can of soda, you will be charged $5 plus 11.5% tax. Everything in the mini bar is extremely overpriced; save your money and shop at the local 7-Eleven on Ohio St. going toward Michigan. The pool is a hike and closes at 9 M-F, 5:30 Sat and closed on Sun. How truly disappointing! Just as a point of interest, this hotel does NOT have a pool! Instead, they have an agreement to ?share? a pool that belongs to a local health club and the hotel has limited use. We couldn?t believe how stingy the hotel is: we only were provided a single bath towel and it took several calls to have more brought to the room. The staff seemed confused as why more than 1 towel was needed. Additionally, the hotel advertises ?Complimentary Internet Access? but that is deceiving! Internet access is charged at a daily rate of $9.95 plus 11.5% tax; however, if you want you can take your notebook down to the lobby and enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi. Please note that there is no safe in the room.

Great value! The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The beds were very comfortable. Hotel is within walking distance to Navy Pier, the shops on Michigan Avenue, and the train. Would definitely stay there again next time we visit.

Nice view of city - room clean. Parking expensive & inconvenient - no free internet or fridge in room.

Booked this trip on travel website. Booked a room with king bed, but got two full/queen beds. The hotel is updated and looks very modern. The fixtures in the room are all new as well as the granite tops in the bathroom and koler water fixtures. There is a bar in the lobby with internet access. I wish there had been a wall or it had been a separate room. It seemed like too much in one place. You walk in and there is the conceriege, check in, and a bar. I didn't want to be drinking out in the open, especially with it being so windy. I had to call for my newspaper, but it was brought up quickly. The walls are pretty thin, some teens were playing in the hall and my husband had to go quiet them down. The hotel is in a very convenient location. Right down the street from Dominicks if you want late night snacks and two blocks from Michigan Avenue. If you plan on staying downtown the entire time, take public transportation and just use taxi's. We parked at the hotel, but then realized that if we drove to a restaurant in the downtown area we would have to pay for parking again. If you know you won't be going in and out, park across the street for $31. Parking at the hotel is $41. Oh, the cookies upon check in was nice too. I really wanted the ice cream cookie sandwich, but refused to pay $6 room service with $3 delivery fee and 18% gratuity.

We were given a handicapped room behind one of the elevators with a limited view of the pool. Not the best of room choice. I tried to change rooms, but the front desk informed me that they were booked. Negatives about the hotel/room. Because the room was for a handicapped individual, the bathroom did not have a bath tub or a vanity. My wife and I had to place our toiletries outside which was a little annoying.

The fact that it was walking distance to the magnificent mile.

Nice clean hotel with a friendly staff. Front desk people were very helpful and nice. Hotel was very nice and the rooms were clean. I paid extra for the room with the lake view but when I got there was told that they're not on the shore so there really isn't a good view of the lake. None the less the stay was great and the hotel was centrally located and made it easy to get around in the area. The Lake Shore athletic club linked with the hotel is a really nice and has a great workout facility. The room rate was good for the area, season and hotel type but steep compared to the rest of the world. Seldom have I paid more than alot a night for a hotel room when traveling internationally.

Great view, great beds. Parking fee was too high. It was $10 cheaper to park across the street at a municipal garage. The hotel was great except I was not informed that the per day parking fee existed ($41.00). The room and beds were very comfortable and the location was prime for being around the Chicago area.

The staff was friendly and helpful, especially the concierges and doormen. The room service was very fast and the food was good. The location is terrific since we walked everywhere: to Lincoln Park, to Grant Park, to the Sears Tower, to Oz Park, to Second City, etc. Michigan Ave. is just a block away.

Room was larger than expected with lake view! Front desk was unmanned when I arrived. I waited almost 5 minutes before being able to register. My room was spacious, nicely decorated, extremely quiet despite being near the elevators and provided a wonderful lake view. It was an excellent facility at an amazing price. I would recommend it for business and pleasure!

The hotel is very conveniently located to many of Chicago's better restaurants, stores, and attractions. The service was excellent on the part of the entire staff -- front desk, housekeeping, doormen, bellmen, and concierge. The rooms are spacious, well appointed and comfortable. The outdoor pool and sundeck make for some much needed relaxation on hot summer days. We would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Comfortable beds and nice rooms. The bar prices and the hours of operation. Ithink if you got to this hotel during peak time you would be waiting long to get in because they only have like 2 line counter andI checked in late at night and it still took a bit, and also bring your wallet for parking its cheaper to park across the street at a parking garage then it is there, overall not too bad but then again its downtown by the mile so you will pay!
