Stayed 3 nights March 2009. This hotel is first class all the way... It has been totally refurbished with the best in linens, and decor. For the price you cannot beat it! Centerally located, so close to all the action..

I stayed at the hotel for a week on business. The training course I was attending was offered at this hotel, so I had little choice in where to stay. The overall hotel was a pleasant experience. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The bed was comfortable and the hotel was quite except for some renovation work going on during parts of the day. My only complaint about the hotel is with the conference room staff and the wireless internet access. The staff complaint is very minor and is that there was never a waste tray or disposal area for dirty dishes and cups. Having to stack dirty dishes behind clean serving bowls is a turn off for snacking during the class. My second complaint is that there was a * per day charge to use the wireless internet access. I thought this was outright thievery as I am already paying for my room and don't see why I should be charged an additional fee for a service that the hotel lists as an amenity. In this day and age asking someone to pay for wireless access is akin to asking someone to pay to use cable television. The only other complaint is that the hotel is not located "that" close to downtown dining. Even though the group I was with walked every night to restaurants it was a half mile or more to most places to eat, with the exception of the chain food places associated with the university across the street. None of these complaints would keep me from staying at this location again with the exception of the wireless internet access, which now that I know is not free would not be as disheartening.

Fantastic hotel! Great Location! Wonderful Service.

It was only 6 blocks from city center! The room was nice, but the maid had forgotten all towels, lotions and we had to call the maintenance guy up to fix the air as soon as we checked in. Not a bad spot for the money we paid. The staff was really friendly, but they didn't seem to have their act together initially.

I stayed for a football game, it is a very convenient hotel to BoA stadium. The bed was harder than I like and was well worn. The bathroom was clean. Our room (5th floor) had a nice view of the stadium. The hotel was very quiet and within walking distance of much of downtown Charlotte. For our price it was worth it, though I've slept better.

The Doubletree Hotel - Gateway Village, is in a wonderful location in Downtown Charlotte. The staff is very friendly and accomodating. The rooms are beautiful, clean and spacious. I always try to stay at this location when I am in Charlotte.

Very clean and super comfortable beds. Paying for parking - paying for internet. Very nice and comfortable hotel, but am used to staying in hotels with some kind of breakfast. Also did not like having to pay for parking, and internet. That is being pretty cheap!

The hotel was first class all the way & in a great location. I could see the stadium and downtown.

Very comfortable bed, large room. The staff was accomodating, gave us a room with a refrigerator when we asked. We had a vehicle that was too tall for the parking garage & had to park down the street. We had to wait for the gate to be opened every time we came & went, which was a hassle, but we were refunded the parking charges for our trouble. We had great fun walking downtown a few blocks to dinner each night.

The location, the staff and the convenience.I just loved everything. I recommend this hotel to people who want to just relax and enjoy Charlotte.

If your a guest at a hotel you shouldn't have to pay to park. Charlotte is the only place I've traveled where they charge guest for parking. This is the second hotel I was at in Charlotte and they both charged for parking

I was very pleased with our stay at the Doubletree. This is our second time staying. We are in town every year for the Coca Cola 600. Although we did find a hotel closer to the event and not as expensive, which we stayed the second night there. I'm sad to say but I think we will be staying at the other hotel our next trip.
