We stayed at the Doubletree hotel in Durango, CO on our 2nd stop of our 4th of July weekend road trip. (We could have stayed at this hotel for our first stop to Mesa Verde National Park since it is within 30 minutes of the park entrance, but chose to stay in Mesa Verde instead.) This hotel was chosen in order to be close to the Durango-Silverton Train Station and to see the 4th of July fireworks. We were well within walking distance to the train station, shops, restaurants & grocery store and were able to see the fireworks from the grassy area in front of the hotel. The convenience and cleanliness of the hotel were pluses as we were traveling with 2 children (4 & 10) and a grandparent (80). The pool was not very clean so we chose to avoid it.

Location near narrow gauge railroad. Elevator was slow. The Doubletree Hotel in Durango, CO is a luxury hotel one block from the Silverton-Durango Narrow Guage Railroad. It has a gift shop and dining areas that are equal to any in the area in quality and price. The hotel personnel are friendly and helpful.

I really enjoyed the Doubletree. The hotel was very clean. The service was fast, we asked or extra cups and room service came right away. Our room faced the city and it was still a very beautiful view. All the employees were polite and kind. I have never had housekeeping being chatty and friendly before. The pool was nice, but it was down for cleaning two of the nights. My husband and I lift weights and they only had had dumb bells for us, the other equipment was nice though. The dining was excellent. I would recommend this to anyone traveling. We have a 5 month old baby and had no problems.

We were travelling with a small dog. Not only did they accept him, but they welcomed him with treats and iced water waiting for him in the room. The hotel is right on the river, where there's a miles long beautiful river walk, and walking distance to restaurants, shops and the historic train station. The hotel was wonderful, the location was perfect.

We enjoyed our stay at the Durango Doubletree! The staff was very friendly to us and our two small dogs. My daughter loved the fresh baked cookies. The bathroom seemed to have been recently updated. The hotel was conveniently located to the train depot too.

My husband went there for business and I tagged along. So we made it a short get away vacation. The location of the hotel was excellent because it is along the river side. The room was clean and the fitness center was wonderful. I would go back again.

The spacious rooms. Not great directions on how to get to your room. Signs are confusing. The room was extremely beautiful. We did think we were going to get a balcony. Because we were on the third floor and it looked as though all the rooms were. So that was a little disappointing but it was very quiet, clean, and magnificent! We stayed there and didn't want to leave!

Arrived on a cold rainy day. Received two warm chocolate chip cookies upon check in at the front desk. That was a wonderful way to greet us I thought. The beds are extremely comfortable and so are the pillows!!! Great help at the front desk with directions to places in the area. Room service was quick. Great place to stay!! I would DEFINITELY go there again. It was a little more expensive than some others but I felt it was really worth it. It was also very centrally located to the downtown area of Durango and we were able to walk from the hotel to all the stores and shops easily. The train station was right across the street. Great Location.

The front desk was great at check in. Realized our room was right above a smoking room - and switched us - since he knew part of the appeal of being in a riverside room was to sit out on balcony patio - i thought that was very astute of him.Our room was in a great spot by the river and walking path - so it was great to just go back to the room in the afternoons, sit on patio and enjoy the scenery.We were there to check out Fort Lewis College - and it turns out the hotel was directly down College St. The town of Durango was amazing and beautiful. We will go back since my son will attend the college - and we will stay at the Doubletree again. The hotel was ok for breakfast but definitly plan to eat in the town for other meals.

Location is close to shopping, friendly staff. We liked everything. We arrived after at least 12 inches of snow, hotel did a great job of clearing walkways and entrances and exits. Close to shopping, possible to walk, excellent winter Christmas spent here, we enjoyed our first winter stay here. Stayed here 12 years ago in summer and found it enjoyable then too. Close to skiing as well. Newer grocery store very close, easy for road warriors with family.

Had a great view of the river from our room, bottom floor. The only bad experience was the staff in the restaurant, who were rude or just didn't like "Biker" folks. Real close to downtown. Within walking distance. We found several eating establishments who were glad to have our business.

We enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Double Tree Hotel in Durango. The rooms were clean and the beds and pillows were very comfortable. The dining room had a beautiful view of the Animas River and the food was good. The breakfast buffet was wonderful. The location was within walking distance to the train to Silverton. We would definitely stay there again.
