We were there for our 11th Wedding Anniversary and were excited about staying at this hotel. It seemed to be in a good location. We checked in and rode the elevator to the third floor. The carpet on the third floor had a lot of black stains on it. This was on the entire third floor. We went to the second floor to check out the pool and it had the same stains. Why hasn't the carpet been replaced? It was nasty! The other complaint that I had was that we spent over $100 per night for our room and there was not continental breakfast offered. We had to purchase breakfast from TGI Fridays located in the hotel. You will also have to pay $20 daily for parking! I would have rather stayed somewhere cleaner.

Close proximity to downtown area where we needed to be. Pilows. Overall our stay was great, we were in town for a concert and the hotel was able to meet all our needs.

I was pleasantly surprised to find a corner room waiting for us upon check-in. A huge upgrade from what I thought I would get booking a package deal. The front service desk was more then accommodating with a warm chocolate chip cookie not just at check-in but every night I came in. Perfect, if not decadent way, to end the evening! The one reason I booked this hotel was because of their beds and they did not disappoint. I have been to Memphis many times and the one thing they don't do downtown is breakfast. There is a TGI Friday's attached to the hotel that served a reasonable buffet until 11 which my husband really appreciated. My only issue with the hotel was the $20 a day Valet Parking but there is a way around that. All in all, I was very happy with the hotel. I would not hesitate to choose this same hotel again for the next trip.

I went to Memphis for a family vacation. The website stated that this hotel has available parking. What they forget to mention is that it is Valet only and 20 a day. We had to find a parking garage 3 blocks away and hike it to the hotel. The hotel is conveniently located directly across from Autozone Park where the Memphis Redbirds play. Very nice, except when there is a game and the lights from the park shine in your room all night long and everything is loud. Do not take your family outside of the hotel at night. There are bums that sleep on the street directly outside of the hotel and ask you for money the second you get out the door. If it wasn't the bums, its the kids trying to "sell" you candy or just asking for a handout for a "charity". Then there was the room itself. The showerhead was broke, the toliet constantly ran, and the drain on the tub would only stay closed. We had to manually hold the drain open to drain the tub. Don't expect your room to be cleaned before 4:00pm every day. We were complete skipped one day and the next day we came back at 4:00 and the room wasn't cleaned again. We complained to management, the room was cleaned while we hung out at the pool, and the next morning my husbands toothbrush was gone and my makeup was all broken. Do not stay at this hotel. Pay the extra money and stay at the Peabody with the ducks.

It was clean and friendly. It was too close to the undesirable side of town. The hotel it self appeared to be nice. The room was adequate for the purpose. The halls were hot. There was no circulating air at all. The room air conditioner was not as cold as we would have liked.

Spent 3 days recently at the downtown Doubletree and was extremely disappointed. The lobby is clean and appears nice but it ends there. The carpet in the hallways and rooms is the dirtiest I have ever seen in a 2+ star hotel. Paint was peeling off the ceiling in my room and there were broken fixtures. They advertise that all rooms have been recently renovated but there is no way this is true.

The hotel beds and pillows were wonderfull and fluffy. It was hard to tell if it was clean or not, because of stains on the carpets and wallpaper coming down from the walls. There was a TGIF restuarnt attached to the lobby, but with all the "BBQ" in the area, just a bar in the lobby would have been nice.

This hotel is centrally located in Downtown Memphis. Right across the street from the Peabody and a short walk to Beale. Easy access to highways and quick drive to Graceland.

The rooms were recently redone, new, stylish and clean. The customer care line was a joke. Nothing ever came of calls made. It was nice and clean. The concierge was friendly and it was very close to Beale st. However, our first room's air conditioner leaked all over the floor and created a huge wet spot on the floor. When we called the "care line" they said they would send some one up but no one ever came. We finally had to tell the concierge about it and they moved us to a different room. I asked for a trash can in the new room via the care line and never got one. There was extensive rennovation going on onour floor and we had to dodge dumpsters and old mattresses. The new room was nice and newly redone.

the staff was very friendly and quick to help you with what ever questions or needs you may have. it was close to the museums i wanted to go to plus it's walking distance to beale st. the only problems i had was the rooms and beds were very small (plan on one person per bed) if you want to sleep comfortable. the parking is outrageous at $20.00 per day for hotel guest

We loved our stay at the Doubletree. The staff was the best ever!! Very friendly and very helpful. Rooms were kinda small but spotless and very clean. We had a very quiet room and slept well. The only downside to the Doubletree was the hallways and carpets. they were a mess! Torm, stained and very filthy plus the hallways have no A/C so they are very hot. Ohter than those to problems, the hotel was top notch!..we would stay there again..

Location. Restaurant, cleanliness, smell, broken pool, room service, carpet. Location was great. The room wasn't very clean from the previous people. Trash still in room. Carpet very stained. Unpainted ceilings. Air vent full of dust. The on site TGI Friday's smelled really bad, and on more than one occasion had to wait over 30 minutes for service. Walls in room are paper thin. Heard guests on both sides. They care too much about the hot cookies instead of what really matters. Overall was a horrible experience and a waste of money. I will never stay at this Doubletree again!

First off I'll say that the people at the front desk during check in were very friendly, professional and quick. The parking attendants were polite and speedy. The bed was comfortable. That's about the extent of the good part of our stay.We stayed in a smoking room on 5th floor. As soon as we got in the room we noticed that there were no ashtrays. So I went down to the front desk and asked for one. They told me that housekeeping would bring one up to the room. They didn't after an hour. I called house keeping repeatedly and got no answer. After an hour of doing so I went back to front desk and asked again. Clerk told me again that housekeeping would bring one up and apologized. they never showed! There was only one night stand by the bed. No clock/radio, no coathangers or a rack to hang up coats . There was only one garbage can and it was in the bathroom. There was no hairdryer. The TV picture kept going out. The shower was horrendous. My wife was seriouly scalded. Hot, cold, hot, cold. And no breakfast menu for room service. I went to front desk to get change for vending and they didn't even have chang for a 5 bill. Had to hit up the bellhop for change. Motel Six would have been a better choice and 1/4 the price. I'm sure that they could provide us with a place to hang our coats!we will not be staying here again and don't recommend it.

We went to Memphis for a concert. The Doubletree is very close to the FedEx Forum, so we just walked from the hotel. We were welcomed with warm cookies and friendly service. The only disadvantage was the "mandatory" valet parking that cost $20. Had we known this, we would have parked our vehicle in a garage elsewhere. Overall, the hotel was great. The TGI Firday's downstairs was a nice perk also.

Close to activity. Extremely noisy - street traffic, mechanical systems. Worn. Ask for a room on the higher floors as the street noise was unbearable on the 2nd floor. You are only a few blocks from Beal street. Lots of bikers reeving engines and cruisers with the bass up high. The TV did not work properly and they made no attempt to correct the problem when notified. The public spaces were very poor. Took a long time to retrieve vehicle. No self serve parking available.

Excellent deal considering the prices of the other hotels within walikng distance of The DoubleTree. Nice, clean hotel within walking distance from all the main attractions in downtown. Beale Street, AutoZone Park, the Main Street Trolley, The Peabody Hotel. I was there for a week for a conference at The Peabody and could get there within seconds from The DoubleTree. Recently renovated. Nothing extra luxurious, but comfy and clean. My only complaint: Traffic and lobby noise could be heard from my room on the 3rd floor near the center of the hotel. I would suggest asking for a room higher than the 5th floor (I think there are 10 floors). Also, TGI Friday's is the only restaurant in the hotel. There are plenty of other places to eat within walking distance, though. As my title says, I'll be there again in September and I've already booked my room at The DoubleTree and this time it's for pleasure, not business.

Great rooms. Connected restaurant was great because we didn't have to walk in the rain. Required valet parking was somewhat of a hassle with a heafty charge of $20. Overall, pleasant stay.
