The hotel itself was decent. Counter staff was nice but indifferent. Room was nice and clean, but toilet paper dispenser kept falling off the wall (not a big deal, just annoying). View was terrible (we had a view of 4 walls, no sun). The hotel was empty so I'm not sure how we ended up with a crummy view. Hotel restaurant food was average and expensive. Restaurant staff was overly attentive since we were the only diners. Hot tub was out of order. Must pay for internet access. Hotel valet parking ONLY (due to retrofitted garage). No validated parking for other garages. Parking is free on the weekends downtown, so we just parked in the garage across the street and walked to the hotel. I would say that I wished I had called the hotel before confirming the reservation, but it wouldn't have done me any good. When I asked the front desk when the hot tub might be fixed, they didn't even know it was broken. I was told that it was not in their log... as if that meant it couldn't possibly be broken. We were at the Crown Plaza our first night in town, and made the move to the Doubletree for the indoor pool/hot tub. In retrospect, we should have stayed at the Crown. The rooms were just as nice, the staff was very friendly, and they have free internet/validated parking. Stay at the Crown Plaza instead!

The rooms were big and the bed was comfortable. Not a fan of valet parking. This hotel is very nice, located in the center of downtown Dayton, spacious rooms, very cozy bed, decent fitness center, and friendly staff. I would highly recommend.

I had the most wonderful experience. I have been visiting Dayton,Oh frequently the last few months for office work. And this was the first time I stayed here..and yes..I am always going to stay here now onwards. My room was big and clean. It had a TV, with sleep time in it. Room had all the amenities that are required to relax and feel at home. The beds were very comfortable, I had a very good sleep. They had a very good fitness center. I enjoyed watching myself in the mirror and the TV while challenging my calories. The breakfast was good too. It was a little crowded because of some matches in the city, and we had to wait to 3-4 minutes to be seated for breakfast. But the breakfast quality was good and they had many options in breakfast. The shuttle service is quick and prompt. It was great help for us to reach at our destination late at night. I liked this place, would only stay here whenever I visit Dayton.

Bathroom fixtures still had very visable remnants of someone elses makeup. Popcorn ceiling ""snowed"" on us in sheets. A/C units never cooled the room. The floors were so uneven I could have surfed them. A general feeling of disrepair and uncleanliness.

Room was nice. Restaurant was terrible. Ate 2 meals at the restaurant because it was raining outside. Should've learned my lesson with the 1st meal. Food was over cooked at dinner meal (salmon salad) and breakfast was terrible. Scrambled eggs were dry and ham was cooked to resemble a shoe sole.

The staff is very friendly, they give a warm welcome to their guests. Rooms were very clean. Even if its in downtown, it is very safe and quiet here. They have a wide variety for breakfast. The restaurant food tastes good. They have heated indoor pool. Also there is a beautiful view of downtown from the pool. They have free shuttle services, the shuttles are very prompt...on time. I would always prefer staying here in my next visits to Dayton.

I stayed for one night to find the hotel in a great downtown location with many activities close by the hotel. The benefits stop there. The hotel is in an older building with many flaws in the renovation. My room was on the concierge floor and I expected a nice room but I found a small, cramped space that had new furnishings. The furniture was in new, nice and good shape but there was not a business desk for working. The lamps were fashionable and fit the room well. The television was an old 27" model with static on many channels. The bathroom was smaller than my closet at home, extremely cramped with a tiny tub and shower. I had to move stuff off the counter to have a place for my toiletries. The heating/cooling system was 30+ years old and did not work. I was at the hotel in December when the temperatures outside were below 40 degrees but the room was 80+ degrees. I turned the unit to cool and left it running for 4 hours with the room still too warm to sleep. I opened the window, which was original to the building and did not have a functioning lock but it did not help. When I went to the bathroom to take a cold shower to cool down, I found the vent for the bathroom covered with dust and debris. The rest of the room apeared to be cleaner. Maybe after another renovation this hotel will be able to compete with the many newer, nicer hotels around the city.

The room was great and proximity to locations was good. Layout of hotel was not made clear at check in nor locations of nearby sights. My understanding was that this is one of the best hotels in Dayton and it doesn't surprise me that few travel to Dayton.

Comfy beds, good shower pressure, Neutrogena products, chocolate chip cookies! Rooms were on the smaller side. My fiance & I stayed one night at the Doubletree Downtown, as we were visiting a friend in the area. We were able to book a room through Priceline for a great price. We had a king bed room on the 4th floor. The room & bathroom were fairly small, but very clean with nice furnishings & a very comfy bed. Good water pressure in the shower & Neutrogena toiletries were a familiar name, which we both liked. The Doubletree offers a number of free amenities if you happen to forget them at home. This was helpful, as I forgot to bring a toothbrush & my fiancee was without deodorant. It took a little longer than expected for the items to be brought up, but I can't complain since I would not have been able to brush my teeth without them! My expectations were pretty low since we don't normally stay at 3* hotels, but I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the room was. Because we only slept there one night, I can't comment on the pool, bar, restaurants, etc. I can say, however, that the chocolate chip cookies we were given upon checking in were tasty!

The room furnishings and art. The charge for wireless internet. The staff appeared to not work as a team with lack of uniforms to know who actually did what behind the desk. The greetings were lackluster and the lobby too dark.

The professionalism of the employees. The bar & restaurant closed too early and the pool was drained & being cleaned when we tried to use it. I had a great experience at this hotel.

Excellent, clean room. Safety in location. Very comfortable, clean room, excellent staff. The downtown location was a little scary.

Character of the hotel-old bank building converted into hotel use was interesting. Our bathroom was very small, no fan, only one mirror in entire room/bathroom space, not thermostat adjustment. I find it frustrating at most hotels as a rule that there is not a separate mirror outside the bathroom with an electrical outlet nearby, so that someone else can dry hair, do makeup, get ready, etc. while another is using the toilet/taking a shower. I think it would be a rather inexpensive feature to add to every hotel room during construction/remodeling, to provide an area for another person to get ready while another is using the bathroom.

Accommodating parking valets. Need mini-refrigerator & microwave in the room.

The bed was comfortable. Window opened in room when I arrived, no screen and no way to lock it. Unhelpful staff. Valet driver not identified with a tag asking for room number. Be prepared to pay $10 every time you want to use your vehicle as it is valet parked by an attendant who is not identified with a badge. He will also want you to give him your room number. Be prepared that the windows open and there are no screens in them. Can't shut window and then lock it. We had to switch rooms 3 times before we felt safe enough to sleep. By then it was 2 am.
