We booked a room at the Doubletree in Crystal City because its close to Alexandria, Arlington and Washington. The purpose of the trip was to find an apartment in the DC NOVA area and we could not have chosen a better hotel for the price and location. Service was what you would expect from a Doubletree meaning GREAT!!! The only knock that I have against the hotel is the $21 per night parking fee. I would have prefered if this was included in the rate.

Very helpful staff andgreat concierge. Cleanliness could use some work. The staff was great and the room's decor was very tasteful and soothing. The bed was comfortable, the bed linens were of good quality and the amenities were all excellent.

My husband, three grandsons, and I stayed there on April 10, 2009.on a long-awaited trip to Washington, D.C. The hotel is hard to find if you are driving. We were lost in Washington, D.C. traffic, and when we called the hotel, we were given incomprehensible directions by the hotel staff. We finally found the hotel and I reminded the front desk manager that I had booked a room with two double beds and a pull-out couch, as there were five of us. When we got to the room, there was no couch. I went back to ask to have our room changed and, although the women at the reception desk were apologetic and tried to explain to the manager which rooms had couches and which did not, he again assigned us a second room with no couch. When I had to return to the desk a third time, instead of apologizing for his incompetence, he showed me an arrogant attitude and a complete lack of caring. I must say that the women were again apologetic to me and offered me coupons. After a long and exhausting day, we went back to the room to settle in for the night. As we opened the pull-out couch, we couldn"t believe our eyes when we saw mouse droppings on the covers inside!! Exhausted and realizing the futility of complaint at this point, the boys and my husband tried to sleep in the beds and I sat up all night in a chair, unable to sleep. Of course, no one slept on that couch. We checked out of the hotel before dawn the next morning. To be fair, I want to mention some good points about the hotel. We had a delicious meal, impeccable service and a beautiful view in the revolving SkyDome Lounge.

We booked a Suite on the National Doubletree Booking Line as we don't like to keep our 7 year old up as late as our teenagers. So we need the separate bedroom. Was assured I'd get TWO ROOM Suite. Arrived at the hotel and was told "oh yeah alot of our hotels have two rooms suites, but we don't". Well people, At Crystal City a Suite is ONE ROOM with a pullout double couch and two queen beds. NOT What I'd call a SUITE. Room view was nice enough. Man came to fix the AC right away and while it worked better our room was pretty hot our whole stay. Hotel room was rundown. We were in the South Tower, I think the North is newer, so if U can, stay there. Restaurants were expensive(welcome to DC) and the food was just ok. Eat out. One nite at 2am we were all sleeping when "x" used her keycard and tried to open the door to our/HER room! Seems they gave our room out to her too. Thankfully the deadlock was on and she wasn't able to get in. She apologized and went to the desk to get another room. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. Front desk just gave us a new keycard the next AM, wasn't too concerned about our complaint. Staff in general was very nice. Good hike to the Metro though, but they have shuttles. I'd not stay here again.

Hotels staff very very friendly and helpful. The holel restraunt food was GREAT but a little pricey the restraunt staff was friendly took extra time to see all our needs were met. The holtel bar was a great place to unwind from the days event. The Free USA TODAY daily was a great plus. The free shuttel to pentogo city and the mall and metro stop saved us a lot of walking and picked us up from the mall and brought us back to the hotel. The only bad thing there is that you can not controll the A/C setting in the room they are all pre set . But over all a great place to stay.

I had a two day booksigning at the USHMM in which all profits from the book went to the museum. I couldn't have asked for my trip and stay to have been better except for one cab driver. As I had to go back and forth to the museum by cab for 3 days, I went by cab. One driver(solid gray cab) was very verbally abusive and also cheated on the fare.If I knew the name of the company I would report him so others would not have to suffer him. I hailed the cab from the US Holocaust Memorial Museum on Monday around 5:00 pm. All the others were very nice and pleasant and did not overcharge. I was very saddened to hear that a guard was killed at the Museum the day after I left...so sad for him and his family and co-workers. So sad that such hatred exists.

Location, indoor pool, shuttle service to and from airport and metro. Pool hours should be increased due to the limited capacity of swimmers. The hotel location was very convenient, staff was friendly, some spots were missed by the cleaning staff in the room, such as a chewed gum stuck on the closet shelf. This gum was there prior to our arrival, we tried to remove it without success. The comfortable beds were a highlight of our trip.

We only stayed one night and the room was paid for by the airlines. So I can not say much about the value. The check in staff was very helpful. Room was very nice. The hotel has a good selection of restaurants to choose from. We really enjoyed the Skydome restaurants with the view. They have a free shuttle to the airport and the mall with a Metro stop.

Washington D.C. sightseeingIf the hotel had any shortcomings, they were soon forgotten ; friendly staff from front desk, lounge, shuttle, housekeeping services.Concierge [...] went out of her way to help us secure tours. Didn't expect gratuities for her service (was rewarded anyway)

Professional staff, very clean. Broken A/C in room. Clean, comfortable and moderately upscale, eager staff, somewhat out of the way (take their shuttle to the Metro, it's too far to walk and there are limited sidewalks!. Warm cookie on check-in!

The rooms were nice. The front desk was great! However, the Cafe was very disappointing. After a long day don't stay in for dinner. Go out to restaurant row nearby and then come back and enjoy your big comfy bed.Great cookie upon check in.

The check-in staff was very helpful in providing information about the location and the free, local hotel shuttle. The valet parking was great and my vehicle was available on a whim. The doorman were absolutely fantastic. I had stayed at this location previously and left an article in the room. Upon contacting the hotel, they were kind enough to mail the article to me. Excellent service!!!

Traveled over Labor day weekend and the city was very busy. The hotel was great, though. The shuttle from the airport was easy to pick up and there were shuttles running to the metro every 20 min. Very nice if you do not have a car. Check in was easy and the cookies are great too. Anytime you walk into the hotel it just smells great. Also, my friend is diabetic and needed to keep her insulin cold. I forgot to ask for one when reserving the room and asked for one after check in. The hotel provided a refrigerator for the entire trip. The rooms was very comfortable, I am close to maybe ordering a bed for my home!! Room service was quick and the food good. Prices are not bad, it is the tax's and delivery charges that get you (normal for room service). Pool was clean and very nice at night, and the fitness room had all I needed to get a good workout. The view from the room is awsome!! I would definatly stay here again!

Great location in sight of the Pentagon. The room was clean. I used the hotel for a weekend solely as a place to sleep and shower and was very pleased. The most memorable part was the staff. EVERY staff person greeted me even if we were just sharing an elevator. I came across two staff people on a break and they jumped into action and opened a door for me.

Staff was friendly and shuttle to airport helped. The room was in very poor condition. Cracked sink, tub, grout was very dirty. This hotel needed major renovation of rooms. Carpet was very worn, bathroom had cracked sink, tub, and it just appeared worn out. It was definitely not a 3.5 room although it was likely in the past. The lobby and conference space was well maintained and nice.

They were fast at checking us in. They kept their rooms very clean. The price of their parking at $21 dollars a night.
