I have stayed in several motels in town, I don't know why it was at the rate it was but everything else I stayed at close to that price was a dump.

Closed to restaurants, mall, Wal-Mart, Lowes, andColiseum. The room was somehow old. I thought that the AC needed to be look at, it was very humid in the room.

Stayed here when visiting family in the area and would stay here again in a heartbeat. Got an excellent rate for a really good hotel room. The beds were amazingly comfortable, the room was clean, furniture was nice, etc. The staff was very quick when we called down requesting more towels and the room service that was requested for seven thirty arrived exactly at seven thirty. This hotel is a very nice hotel, and I highly reccomend it to anyone looking for a hotel in the Charlottesville area.

Pool, restaurant and bar. Shower handle difficult to work. Does not look inviting from the road until you drive up. Completely renovated. Nice room, bath a little small. Service was excellent. Pool looked inviting. Would definitely stay again.

We wanted a weekend away from all the noise at home...got more of it here.Must have been a wedding party staying overnight, on our floor across the hall. They went on and on like nobody else was in the Hotel. We will however return at a later date due to the GREAT customer service from the Manager and staff. This Hotel has been one of our favorites and you just never know how other people staying there will act, but the staff was Top Notch !!

I left my iPod in the fittness room and got it back the next day when I went to the lost and found at the desk! Slept well and even took a two-hour nap during the day in this non-smoking room. The floor and rooms that were in the smoking section were below average, but once I changed rooms and decided to smoke outside, the non-smoking room was much better!

Being from northern N.J. and shopping by name recognition, I was excited to be staying at a Doubletree/Hilton property. My disappointment began as soon as I got off the elevator. The entire floor smelled like stale cigarettes. The room was furnished very poorly and all the furniture was mismatched, scratched or cracked. The inner curtains were missing and the room was not very clean. The next morning I complained to the front desk and was given a tin of fresh cookies and a breakfast voucher for Sunday breakfast and the assurance that the problem would be corrected. We returned late Saturday afternoon to find the room was never even vacuumed and the dirty towels were folded and put back on the towel rack.I immediately call the front desk and the manager of room service Sean was sent up to examine the room. He was very apologetic and informed me that the Hotel was undergoing a remodeling and the "second floor" (hotel lobby is on 3) was going to be the last one attended. He did send a chamber maid who did a thorough job of cleaning and making this depressing room more livable.

The Double Tree is one of the best facilities in the Charlottesville area. But if you want to be in the center of the action (i.e., downtown) then it is not for you. It is convenient to the airport. The building is beginning to show wear-and-tear but is still charming. The staff is always wonderful, that's why I stay there. It offers all the amenities and is business-friendly; but can be very crowded and noisy if there is a kids-oriented event in the area. It has a good restaurant on the premises, so that makes it convenient. The layout of the building makes a single, female traveler feels safe...entering and exiting requires passing through the main lobby, so that helps reduce potential unauthorized traffic.

Beautiful, comfortable rooms and great amenities. This was a lovely hotel with great amenities. The bar was great, the bathroom was great with little supplies. Everything was lovely and comfortable. We would gladly stay there again.

"When I stayed at this hotel, there were heavy rains from one of the hurricanes so I had to dine in the restaurant twice for lunch. Grilled cheese was burned (commented to the waiter and was ignored), VERY SLOW SERVICE, 2nd meal, had to ask the waiter 3 times before he remembered a ""to go"" drink (I had to leave without because by that time, I was late for class). Inside was being worked on so there was constant jackhammering, which was annoying. Overall experience was disappointing, although the room was very nice."

It was comfortable and clean. It was a little difficult to find. Although a little difficult to find, this was a very comfortable hotel, with large rooms and lovely grounds.
