We arrived rather early in the day, having traveled by train from London after flying into Heathrow. The desk agent worked very hard to get us into our room promptly. The hotel is well located for visiting the colleges and museums, and provides views of the river. The breakfast, while a bit pricey, was sumptuous. We had one experience with noisy neighbors, but it was not a major problem. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and well decorated. We recommend it highly.

Breakfast was very good, but way over priced. At 10 pounds per day, I think this is well above the going rate in Cambridge, especially when other eateries will do a similar or full English breakfast for less than five pound.

We have stayed at the Gonville Best Western twice and finally got sick of the crappy rooms and beds. THis hotel has definitely been brought up to date and has a contemporary style. Nice dining area overlooking the river with a decent breakfast buffet everyday. The beds are still uncomfortable, but we're starting to think that British hotel beds may just be that way. A local told me "its probably because British people don't complain about anything". Well that's probably true. The price was not bad compared to the Gonville. Definitely worth paying a little extra. The rooms were nice and it was very close to downtown.

Probably one of the nicest full service, modern hotels in Cambridge proper. On the banks of a canal where you can rent small boats or just sit and enjoy a coffee while people watching. The rooms are nothing special and depending on where you are, can be a long walk. Pool and Sauna were hard to find as they're not well marked. It's a short walk to some of the historic colleges in Cambridge, like Kings College. Not much else to do nearby though so will need to take short cab rides to other places to shop or sight see.

Within a short walk of Cambridge University's most historic colleges, right off the river Cam (and punting). Quiet; large, comfortable rooms; friendly and efficient staff. Meals and internet access are pricey, however.
