The room was spacious. Not responsive when we requested towels/blankets. Spacious rooms, great for families. Refrigerator/microwave, coffee maker etc. Free shuttles to Disney attractions, very convenient.

My girls and I went to Disney World on Superbowl weekend 2009. From the moment we arrived, we felt very welcome. We arrived 45 mins early and they offered to check if our room was ready-it was! Later, we got a few dinner recommendations from the Concierge and off we went to Downtown Disney. The best part of our stay were the heavenly beds- especially after all that walking. Everytime we saw an employee they always greeted us warmly. Free shuttle was super. The Housekeeping staff did a great job with our room each day. My daughters loved the warm chocolate chips cookies. I loved the fact that when we were in our room it did not feel like we got in each others way. We will absolutely stay at this Hotel again. We did not use the pool or tennis courts so I don't know anyhting about those things.

Convenient, close to downtown Disney, comfortable, clean, accommodating. I left a pair of tennis shoes in my room after checkout. I traveled from St. Louis to Lake Buena Vista for vacation, so I was unable to pick them up myself. I called the front desk four times, and each time, I was transferred to housekeeping. I was promised that they would return my call, after 4 pm. I finally had to call and ask to speak with a supervisor or manager to even get a lost and found report filled out. I still have not heard anything! Besides my unhappiness with the housekeeping staff, the rest of the staff was very accommodating and willing to help. The rooms were spacious, and comfortable. The hotel itself is close to Downtown Disney, and provides bus access to all Disney parks. I was not happy about paying $8 a day for parking ($15 a day for valet), but I suppose you will pay that at any hotel on Disney property.

I read the March review from someone whose family all had asthma and they ended up on antibiotics after their stay. They thought it was because they got a smoking room. Well, I stayed in two different rooms and neither was a smoking room and all 4 family members suffered with upper respiratory ailments every time we were in the room. At 3 am I was awakened by my 4 year old's wheezing. There were never any health troubles before. Suddenly I realized that some of the pillows were feather pillows. I called down to the desk to let them know I was putting all the feather pillows into the hallway and they told me that the comforter was down also. I threw that in the hall too. The wheezing stopped within 10 minutes but we all ended up with runny noses and sneezing that settled into sinus infections. I was making doctor's appointments before we even left for home. Antibiotics for all! I am only writing this to reinforce the information in the March review. If you have allergies you may have a reaction here. Whether it be the smoking rooms, the feather pillows/blankets, or the air conditioning unit just beware. Other than that the hotel was nice, if you book it, add in the buffet breakfast. It's good. Fresh omlets and mickey waffles. Restaurant staff needs to be told things more than once but know that ahead of time and stay on them. On Mother's day they gave all the moms beautiful flower plants. Also, we arrived 4 hours early. Room wasn't ready when I called over the phone. I showed up anyway and they were able to give me a different room for that night. They transferred all our stuff the next da, which was nice.

That it was close to everywhere that I wanted to go. The hotel was clean and the staff friendly and helpful. That pets are allowed. There are people that have these pets - whether a snake or a dog on the beds and in the bathtubs. Animals belong outdoors! The hotel was great. The only thing I did not like was that there seem to be only one main entrance where you had to walk by the front desk to get to the elevators. This was a little inconvenient, especially as there was always solicitation about buying timeshare.

When we first arrived we were told our room was gone that our ONLY option was a smoking room. What were we to do? Load our luggage and two toddlers back into a taxi and go from hotel to hotel looking for a room? We took it, but I can say that four of us have ended up with severe bronchial problems and put on antibiotics. I believe it was our allergies reacting to the cigarette smoke in our room. There were ants in our bathroom every day. Also the room was booked for 6, yet EVERY day we had to call and ask for two more of everything. (Minor hassle, but a hassle). The most upsetting problem I had was with the restaurant. One morning they charged me $3.99 for a waffle. The next morning I got the SAME exact thing and they charged me $14.95 (buffet price). Then argued with me until I paid the buffet price. That was an expensive waffle and it ruined my day. Front desk staff was always friendly and helpful. The rooms were quiet with comfortable beds. So my suggestion, make sure you get a NON-SMOKING room if that is what you booked!!! Take pop-tarts for breakfast!!!! And bug spray for the bathroom. We did enjoy the free cookies. If you'd call them Free.

Resort Fee $8, Internet Charge $10. Bad restaurant food, staff unorganized and not managed well. The Royal Plaza is a hotel that appears like it was really high end 30 years ago. However the last 30 years have not been good for it. I can get my point across best by listing the issues. They tack a resort fees of $8 plus tax onto your overall bill. This is not a resort in any sense of the word. Now they don't charge for parking, so perhaps it is an indirect way of recovering the costs of the parking lot. The room air conditioners are old and worn out. It doesn't have any temperature settings, just a cool and hot rotary dial plus a three stage fan setting. Setting it on high at the coldest setting didn't do much over the 8 hours I was out of the room. It is also very loud. I had to sleep with ear plugs to deal with it. The beds are not bad, but the pillows are useless and uncomfortable. They aren't as bad as Marriott hotels, they are closer to Motel 6 quality. The Bathroom was laid out well, and the shower was very nice. Very large too. Just don't look to close. The drain plug came up in my hands when I tried to open it. I pulled the shower curtains back and made the mistake of looking, there was mold and other muck up on the curtain track. I called to get it cleaned out. It took the hotel about 25 minutes to get someone up to clean it. My hairdryer also sparked and smoked when I turned it on. After calling the housekeeping to get it replace, it took 30 minutes to respond and change it. The TV is a CRT off brand from about 10 years ago. They also don't have HBO and pipe in only 22 total stations. The remotes ( I had to ask for another since my first one didn't work) do not work well. They charge $10 a day for Internet services. And it's slow and unreliable many times the connection failed and I had to restart my browsers to get it to work. The pool is clean and functional, but is nothing close to a resort styled pool. It isn't anything but a large residential pool. The

My husband and I went away to wdw for our Honeymoon, we elected to stay at the double tree becuse it was right for our budget and getaway! Upon arrival we were greated with such friendliness as if they knew us for years! When asked what our stay was for they were excited to hear it was for Honeymoon. The young lady who was taking care of us automatically made us feel like preferred guest and upgraded our room for the stay. Even though it was not needed it was appericated. We received courtsey calls upon arrival to our room and then when we went to eat we were surpised to find balloons, cookies, and a letter of congradulations on our wedding! My husband and I feel that the staff at this hotel really went above and beyond what they need too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We stayed at this hotel because of the location to the parks in Orlando and the price. It is very close to Downtown Disney - walking distance. There was free bus service to all the other Disney parks.

The hotel was pleasing and the staff was very helpful. The hotel lived up to my expectation and gave a feel of being home. The only problem with the hotel was when we went to the dinning area it took a very long time to be seated and the waiter took even longer. My family enjoyed our stay at the hotel and the staff was very helpful. The hotel gives you the feel of a home away from home. The rooms are also very spacious I would recommend this hotel and stay there again.

"The facility was very good, rooms nicely furnished, no problems with service, able to check in early and the room was very quiet. The bus service to Disney however never followed the schedule and you could wait a long time. The push to sign up for Hilton Honors was obnoxious, approached every time you went through the lobby and left phone messages!!!VERY ANNOYING."

The timeshare sales job got ridiculous. Asked for housekeeping to vacuum room twice during our 7 day stay - never happened. Wallpaper was peeling and paint was blistered with mold on the bathroom ceiling. This was NOT up to Hilton standards.

The hotel staff was excellent! The beds were so comfortable. The sheets for the pull out bed had burns in them. The pull out bed was not comfortable.

"I'm so picky about hotel rooms since I have a 7 & 5 year old - and I LOVED this hotel. Clean, clean and clean! Nice spacious rooms. Maid service needs improvement - didn't replenish shampoos and sugars,etc. Great room service - AWESOME - HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Although, I do agree, get rid of pushy people regarding timeshares (use other entrance to avoid) Kids liked TV in bathroom!"

The Pool and rooms were great. Having to pay for parking. The hotel was very nice. The suit type rooms lend themselves to great comfort. The staff was excellent and very friendly.

"The hotel was very nice. The rooms are exceptionally big. Not too far from anything in the orlando area including all the theme parks (not just disney parks). Although if you have little kids and are planning to go to disney, i would suggest staying at a hotel right inside the park. Those hotels seem more child oriented. Although fot two adults is was perfect. We had a great time!"
