Nice hotel, nice amenities, only gripe was AC unit in room was very noisy, rattled constantly which didn't help anyone sleep at night. Informed front desk and no fix prior to our checkout. Otherwise it was great.

Beautiful room. Great gym. Nice pool area. Everything is extra! Have to pay for breakfast, water, coffee! Beautiful hotel which will serve leisure and business travelers well.

This is my second stay at this hotel. The first time was excellent but this time I was initially given a room on the first floor which smelled of cigarette smoke. I quickly asked for a change and was given a room at the end of the hallway on the second floor. It smelled like mildew (which is not rare near the ocean) but the room wasnt the cleanest. There were bottle caps and discarded dental picks behind one of the nightstands. Overall the hotel is really nice, and has recently upgraded some of their televisions to flat screens. It is close to the airport and easy to find. Although you will need a rental car which will be cheaper than a taxi to get to the clearwater beaches. Compared to the nearby Radisson (across the street) the doubletree outshines it completely!!

Closeness to bay and beach. The hotel was excellent and had such amenities as workout room, business room and 42 flat screen TV's in both rooms. The beds had down mattress pads and coverlets and the pillows were great.

This is my second review since I messed up the intial stay dates. But I have stayed at this hotel before with no problems. This last visit I was initially given a room that smelled of cigarette smoke on the first floor. I asked for a change and was given a room at the end of the hall on the second floor. The room was musty (which isnt rare near the ocean) but there were bottle caps and discarded dental picks behind one of the night stands. Besides that which could be a one time incident the hotel is well worth the money. You get a king bed and then a separate tv room with table/microwave/fridge. The extra space is nice to have and they are now installing flat screen tvs in all the rooms. I stayed at a hotel across the street and it was horrid.

The views were great, but the hotel rooms are a little bit old (spacious though). The pool area is pretty small. A good spot for business traveler not so much for vacation.

Management is terrible. False advertisement for Bay View Rooms. If you have a problem, it will not be solved.

A very nice hotel near the Airport. We used this as a 2 day stay before our cruise. The staff was very friendly. You get a warm chocolate cookie when you check in which is a nice touch. Although I found it to be pretty much an ordinary cookie and not like the gourmet delight other reviewers have described it. The room was roomy and great with beautiful views. That bed was everything it was built up to be. I slept like a million dollars. The only 2 drawbacks were the cost of water and food. Strictly for business a/c's. A tip you can go to the Fitness room and get free small bottles there. The huge International Mall and Airport were about a 10 minute drive. Great location and a very enjoyable stay as long as you have a car.

Clean, attractive, close to airport, taxi services available. Shuttle closed at 11 pm, very expensive hotel breakfast! Overall, it was a very nice place to stay. The shuttle closed early so we did have to get a cab to the hotel. When I called the hotel, they did not tell me when they stopped running the shuttle. Breakfast was expensive with small portions. otherwise, a great place.

I had an early flight so returned my rental car and turned in early. It was only then that I turned on the air. I was in a traditional Doubletree suite, but the air conditioning unit was in the wall only feet from the bed. The sound was like none other I had heard coming from a cooling unit. There was no way to set the thermostat to keep the fan on low but constant, so it went on and off with an extremely loud fan that blew directly over the sleeping area. At 9:00 P.M. I called the front desk and asked if that extreme a noise was normal and if any of the units had the air unit located other than near the bed. I was told that the unit was not malfunctioning and that all units were located in the same place. I felt that once they had my credit card on file, the Doubletree philosophy of "caring" no longer existed. It was so bad that had I retained my rental car I would have moved to a different hotel.

The Doubletree Guest Suites,Tampa Bay was a very enjoyable hotel expierience. My husband had back surgery at LSI the week we went. The surgery center was within walking distance to the hotel, although the hotel had free shuttle service anywhere within 3 miles of the hotel. We used the shuttle to go to restaurants and the local malls. The desk staff was exeptional, made us reservation at a local restaurant where we were treated like celebrities. I would recomend this hotel to all, especially if you are going to the Laser Spine Institute.

We had an Italian man check us into the hotel, he gave beautiful room! Excellent, close to Tampa airport, staff was extremely pleasant, for check in and directions. We were very pleased and pleasantly surprised on how we were welcomed. We definitely would stay again.

The hotel staff were helpful with printed directions to area ammentities. The bed was very comfortable. The living area of the suite was large, but had worn furniture. My room was on the 3rd by the elevator and voices carried up from the atrium at all hours of the night. I would choose to stay at the Doubletree Westshore rather than here. Less construction and highways to get around from the Westshore location.

The DoubleTree Guest Suites Tampa Bay was very well maintained. The guest suites had 2 spacious & immaculate rooms. The kitchen area had a granite countertop, microwave, refridgerator & a large desk /table. The kingsized bed was so comfortable it was like sleeping on a cloud! The staff was warm, friendly, polite, extremely customer oriented & eager to be helpful. The pool was sitting next to the bay & the view was beautiful. The warm chocolate chip cookies given to us upon check-in were delicious & a nice touch. Easy access to the airport. Brand new state of the art fitness room was a nice ammenity.

Do not pay for a Bay view, because you will get a pool view on a higher floor. Management will tell you is a matter of perception and tell you to call the 800 number that is closed on evenings and weekends. So, you will not get any service out of them. If you are unhappy, it becomes your fault. Will never stay here or on any Double Treet again. We had 3 rooms, and we were still treated like we did not matter.

We stayed in 3/08 for the weekend to attend a wedding. We were at a room next to an elevator, which was very noisy every time the elevator was in use and every time a door closed down the hall we heard it. We were able to change rooms the second day finally in the afternoon. Though check in was pleasant and smooth, when we arrived at our room the bathroom had been used - wet washcloth and open soap and bathroom trash. I left a rx item behind and two calls to the hotel have not been responded to. The hotel is in a nice location and felt safe there, but the housekeeping group which I'm told is over lost and found doesn't care a bit about keeping business.

The fact that each room had a refrigerator and microwave. I also liked that there were two televisions in each room. I felt that the bedroom could have been a little bigger and the living room a little smaller. It would have been nice to have a bedroom door. The hotel for me as a single traveler, was geared more to the business side of things rather than a mixture of customers. My room felt as though I was there on business more than pleasure. Also, I requested a king size bed and none was available even after I arrived. There was not enough room on the bed for my partner and I seeing that he is a tall man with long legs. I was given a queen size bed which was not as comfortable. Overall, I enjoyed my stay with the beautiful view off my room.
