I wanted just a 24 hour getaway to be by myself and work on projects that have been piling up. I didn't want to have to drive anywhere to eat or shop, either. I wanted a quiet, clean, nice place with a great pool so I could relax, but get my work done. I also didn't want to have to pay a lot of money. So for $100 or so a night, I was able to get all of the amenities I need, plus HSIA which was great. Although I had to pay $10 for it, at least it was easy and fast. I had the comforts of a nice hotel for a great price. I could spread out in the large room with all of my projects. The only thing was that it was rather loud and rowdy at times. There was a DJ on the 2nd floor and a lot of people were coming in and out very late. I think it was a party. It wasn't too bad but I stayed in my room to and stayed away from it. Also, the lady at the front desk gave me a free glass of wine because she knew I was having a getaway by myself which I thought was very thoughtful and nice! Within walking distance to great food and shopping, too!

Our stay at this hotel was delightful! My only complaint is about the thermastat in the room. Not matter what I set it on it was freezing in the room. Even on the off setting it still blew cold air. But a minor problem in the big picture.

Cleanliness, room size. It was a little difficult to find the entrance. The room was large and very comfortable and inviting. It included a small kitchen that would be adequate for an extended stay.

This is a great facility! Excellent service..very large suite....great food.....unbelievable beds......wonderful location. I honestly cannot think of a "negative" when describing this hotel. Having previously stayed in a number of the neighboring hotels within the Galleria location, I would rate The DoubleTree as No. 1. And the staff wants to please you! We were asked no less than 4 times during our stay if there was anything more they could assist us with. The DoubleTree made our stay in Houston that much more injoyable!

The suite was spacious and well appointed. We were on the concierge floor, however, the concierge room was closed on weekends. The hotel staff was very friendly. They gave us a warm chocolate chip cookie upon arrival. Hard to beat that. The only drawback is that you pay for parking in an adjacent parking lot.

It had been quite awhile since I'd been to the property and I love the new guest rooms--they're very modern and have great colors. Suite is very spacious and has lots of little extra touches--especially the bathroom! Food in meeting room and restaurant was always creative and tasty. This is one of the best hotels near the Galleria!

The staff was friendly and helpful with directions. My mother had a terrible time with the thermostat in her room. Never worked right. The Doubletree is in a good location, although difficult to turn into and to figure out where to turn. The restaurant is not great for dinner. However, it just got colder. However, a beautiful facility, and my room with balcony was great. Very comfortable.

I spent two full days researching Houston hotels. My husband and 2 kids and I don't get to go away very often. When we do, I want to make sure my money is well spent and everything is perfect. After reading numerous customer reviews on Houston hotels, I had narrowed my choice down to two. I decided to take a shot with the Doubletree Guest Suites. And let me tell you, it was well worth it! From the minute we arrived and were given those wonderful chocolate chip cookies we were in love. Our room was not only bigger than my first few apartments, but it was clean and comfortable as well. My daughter couldn't wait to take pictures on my phone and email them to her grandmother. She was so excited about how beautiful it was! It was most definitely a home away from home. And the beds, oh the beds. Hotel beds are always one of the most miserable parts of a vacation. But I could not have been more comfortable if I had brought my own bed! They were wonderful! The pillows were so soft and the sheets actually stayed on the bed. Unlike most hotels where they start to come untucked and by the first morning part of you is sleeping on old nasty mattress. The bathrooms were huge and the tub was wonderful. I think my whole family could have fit in there! It is amazing what those curved shower rods can do to give you so much room! The view from our balcony at night was breathtaking. Now, we did request the highest room possible (what 4 and 7 year old don't want to be near the top floor?) so that may have in turn made it nicer than other rooms. Highly Recommended Hotel!

"The Doubletree has HUGE suites at a reasonable rate, for this part of Houston. BUT they charge you $11 a day to ""self"" park, and then hit you for another $10 a day for wireless internet........per PC. So if your group has two PCs it is $20 a day to connect. At a time when even the most budget hotels offer free wireless. They also tack on excessive costs for room service, like $2.50 per can of Pop..........just too many extra charges for a modern hotel in this price range. While we liked the big rooms,"
