My fiance and I spent two nights here while in town for a friend's wedding. The staff couldn't be more helpful and the location is within walking distance of a lot of the bars, restaurants, and activities in Austin. We would definitely return to this hotel.

This is a great hotel in the absolute PERFECT location in Austin. You will not find a better gameday hotel than this one!! The staff are so friendly. Big comfortable rooms! I won't stay anywhere else in Austin! Walking distance to DKR and 6th St. You can't miss with this hotel!

Location was good and room was spacious. Lobby looked nice. Parking fee of 12.99 per day was ridiculous. Elevators and rooms looked worn. Staff was very nice. Breakfast was okay but expensive.

The room was extra comfortable and quiet, the hotel staff was great, the location to events, excellent dining, and opportunity for site seeing was second to none. The only draw back was a less than inspiring kitchen, and no real grocery shopping close by. Whether a short or a long stay is in your time schedule, this hotel would put you in the Heart of Austin.

Aside from an unsolicited early morning call from housekeeping (after a late night out), the staff was excellent -- friendly and very helpful. Suite was comfortable & clean. Hotel location was fantastic -- within easy walking distance of both the University & downtown; also right on the 'Dillo lines (free buses). Didn't need the car much while in Austin. Only thing we didn't like was the "iffy" hot tub -- don't think the water was supposed to be that shade of green!

Though I was at the Doubletree Hotel on business, I found that the family would have enjoyed the stay there also. The Suite was large enough to accommodate 4-6 people. The bed was large and conformable, So much so that it was hard to get up and get moving. I was impressed with having a TV in the living room and one in the bedroom. The dining room area had a table with 4 chairs and a seprate full kitchen ( stove-refer-micro-dishwasher-dishes-utensils ). The next time the family and I go out of town I'll be staying at a Doubletree Hotel.

We were pleasantly surprised by our entire stay at Doubletree Guest Suites. We booked two suites, and were happy to find they were quite large (quite a bit larger than the last Wyndam we stayed at). The suite with two queen beds was enormous, even the bathroom. The suite with a king was a little smaller (OK, the bathroom was miniscule), but the king suite had a fabulous view of the state capital. The rooms were clean, appropriately furnished, and the beds were AWESOME. Better than the Four Seasons! I hardly ever sleep well in hotels, but this one time I actually slept. We did not use the kitchens much, but they do contain a microwave, small free-standing range/oven, dishwasher, and small refrigerator. The staff was professional but friendly, and furnished us with maps and newspaper reviews of places to go in Austin. My one tiny complaint was that the parking garage was a bit spooky. For the price range, this is a really, really great hotel.

For the money, anybody looking for place to see Austin's 6th Street scene can do better with one of the hotels down near the convention center. This hotel seems to need a makeover... fixtures are worn, the bathroom sink had no stopper, etc. The guest elevators were out when we arrived so a kind employee going off duty had to show us through a controlled access area to the service elevator. If I was traveling on someone else's dime for business, this hotel might be OK. It's not a good price-quality value for the leisure/family traveller though.

All rooms are suites with full kitchens and separate bedrooms. It?s really a nice hotel. The Internet in the business center was down all day, and that was a problem for us since we needed to do a little bit of work on our stay. Creative problem solving from the staff could have helped. Perhaps they could have let us use the business center at another one of their hotels in Austin. Self-parking is 12.00 a day and valet is 18.00, but the garage is completely secure, and we felt very safe. All in all, I highly recommend this hotel.
